Skye gazed at Ward in the Bus. He had just said his long speech about how he still cares about the team and how he misses us. His eyes moved over each and every one of them until he got to Skye. He realized she was staring at him and stared back. Skye could see excitement in his eyes.
Oh my gosh! Skye is staring at me that's so exciting! Skye sighed. Dork. But maybe he really did care about me. Maybe, there was a chance that he still loved me.
Skye then realized she needed to break the stare or people would start noticing them.
"I'm still glad I shot you!" She blurted out.
Everyone seemed satisfied with that statement and life went on. Skye looked down. She remembered that day. The day where she showed weakness.

Skye stared at Ward through the barrier. They were in the basement cell in the Shield base. She was interrogating him.
"Just tell me what you know," Skye ordered.
"I'll tell you what I think you should know," Ward started off.
"Ward-"
"I think it's time that I told you what's really important here," Ward continued.
Skye stopped and stared at him, clearly in a tough situation. Ward looked back at her.
She actually stopped and is letting me talk! Maybe she secretly has feelings for me!
"Skye please just listen. I love you."
Skye slammed the tablet on the chair and marched up the stairs.
"No, Skye please! Just, listen." Ward sighed.
He heard a door slam.
There went my chance.
Skye rushed down the hallway and turned the sharp corner. She bumped into Coulson.
"Skye I-"
Skye kept going. She couldn't deal with him at the moment.
"Skye! I know this is hard for you."
Skye stopped in her tracks. "You don't know anything," she said. "You'll never understand."
With that, Skye kept going until she came to her room. She opened the door and slammed it shut. Coulson had followed her, only to get a door slammed in his face.
Skye fell on her bed and started to cry. Nobody would understand the precious relationship Ward and her had. Nobody had made Skye feel that special except for Ward. And then he ruined it all.
And he's asking forgiveness? How could I forgive him for what he did?! He did say I love you.... Do I love him back?! Of course not!
Skye has been fighting with herself for a while now. It was just making it worse for Coulson to send her down there. She had been thinking about going down there at night to talk to him and then hack into the security cameras and turn them off for a while so nobody saw that she was talking to Ward. She didn't want to make her team mad, but she had to get to the bottom of this.
It could help me stop crying at night. If I find out what Ward wants to say, then maybe I could move on.
Little did she know, the whole reason she kept running away when he would try to talk to her, was so she would protect her heart. She hadn't realized what she was doing yet.
Then she heard a knock at the door.
"Skye?" It was Hunter. "Dinners ready if you want to come out.
Skye wiped the tears off her face and smiled at Hunter's voice. She needed to hear his voice right now. It sounded so friendly, so comforting. She washed her face to wake herself up and walked out of the room.
"Hey," Hunter said softly. Then his voice didn't sound soft anymore. "Did your Hydra boyfriend hurt your feelings?"
Skye smiled and laughed. "No, Hunter he just said a couple things that brought me back to the past."
She still did look sad. Hunter gave her a hug. Skye realized how much she needed a hug right now and didn't let go of him for a while.
Hunter sighed. "Skye, I'm your friend. Don't cover things up from me if you need to talk."
Skye broke the hug and wiped a tear off her face. "Ok," she replied. "Thanks Hunter."
Then Bobbi came down the hallway. "Ready to eat? We are having pasta!"
"Oooh that sounds good!" Hunter exclaimed and started walking with Bobbi, totally forgetting about Skye.
Skye laughed to herself, he was totally in love with Bobbi.

That night, Skye got in bed and pulled out her laptop. This was the night she would do it. She hacked into the security cameras and shut them off, pretty easy hack actually.
Then she changed out of her nightgown and into some clothes. She grabbed a flashlight and creeped out of her room. She snuck down the hallway and through the lab. She snuck around the corner to the final hallway. She looked at the door that led down to the basement. This was it. There's no turning back now. She opened the door and walked down the stairs. She expected to see Ward sleeping, but he wasn't. He was standing up, looking right at her. Skye stared at him. He had more excitement in his eyes, like he knew something was gonna happen.
"Hey Skye." He smiled. "Does Coulson know you're down here?"
"How did you know I was coming?" Skye asked, ignoring his question.
Ward's smile got bigger. "I had a feeling."
Skye sat down and crossed her legs. She stared at him. He smiled back at her, like a little puppy, just wanting out of his crate.
"Now is your chance," Skye said. "Tell me everything you want."
Ward's jaw dropped, and he gaped at her for a couple seconds.
"What if Coulson watches this video?" Ward asked. "I don't want you in trouble-"
"I turned everything off," Skye replied. "Now talk."
Ward told her everything. He didn't care if she would make fun of him, she came down here for a reason. She still loved him. Ward went on and on.
"So basically," Ward summed his whole speech up. "I loved you from the start. From the very first time I met you Skye, I loved you."
Skye gasped but kept staring at him.
"And I need your forgiveness Skye, because I love you. And I miss everyone. I miss our team. I miss spending time together. I miss...." Ward paused. "I miss us."
Skye stared at him, tears filling her eyes. She started crying.
"Skye," Ward said. "Skye, please don't cry. I can't look at you like this. I want to comfort you."
Ward walked forward, totally forgetting there was a barrier. He whacked into it, falling backwards.
"Skye," Ward said softly. "Please let me comfort you. Please let me out."
Skye sighed and sniffed. "I'm sorry," she said. "I can't do this. You betrayed me Ward. And if you really love me, proof it. The next time someone talks to you, you won't tell them about this night. If you really love me, you wouldn't want to get me in trouble. So instead of asking to come out, stay in your cell and proof to me that you love me. Don't tell Coulson about tonight."
She dropped the tablet and ran up the steps.

Skye was pretty sure Ward had proven to her that he really loves her. But then again, he did escape out of the cell and ran away. But he didn't tell on her.
Ward left the tablet table and went over to a seat in the Bus. He looked at Skye. He was the only one that knew about their little secret. Skye could see it in his eyes, he hadn't told anyone.
The rest of the team seemed to go off on their own. Simmons and Fitz went to the lab as May went to go fly the plane. Coulson went to his office in the plane. Skye sighed. She needed to go talk to Ward.
She sat down three seats away from him. He looked at her, shocked she was sitting near him. Skye looked away from him. "So you really miss this?"
Ward stared at her. "Of course I do Skye."
Skye sighed again. She knew the question she needed to ask wasn't gonna be fun.
"Have you told anyone about our secret yet?" Ward asked. He had asked the question before Skye could ask it. It's like he was reading her mind.
Skye tilted her head and looked at him curiously. "No, of course not. Nobody would trust me anymore."
"Like they do now?" Ward asked. "I can read people Skye, and I see how scared Simmons is around you. All because of your powers."
"Would you be scared of me?" Skye asked.
Ward stared at her. "Of course not, I'm not now or I wouldn't let you sit near me. I'm not afraid of you Skye."
"Even after I shot you?" Skye asked, bewildered.
"I know you weren't trying to kill me," Ward replied. "I could read what you were trying to do. You were trying to get me out of the way so you could get to Coulson. You knew that I would slow you down."
Skye's jaw dropped. "You- you understand," she said, shocked. "I thought you would never understand."
She moved over a seat so there were only two seats separating them.
"Of course I understand Skye. I loved you. I could read you."
Skye sighed. This was so confusing. Wasn't he in a relationship with Kara?
"What about you and Kara?" Skye asked. She rested her head on her hand.
Ward sighed and rubbed his head. "You think I would fall for her?"
Skye looked at him, confused.
"I'm just using her to get to Shield," Ward explained. "I found her, and saw a connection to get to you."
Skye stared at him uneasily.
Ward gasped, realizing how creepy that sounded. "No no no no, don't take it that way. Let me rephrase that. When I met Kara I saw a connection because she used to be Shield. So if I could get her trust maybe I could get to Shield and work there again and then maybe there could be a chance where we could be together." Ward sighed. "I know that's stretching it a bit but it was my only chance to see you again."
Ward put out his hand as if to touch her but then realized he shouldn't. Skye moved over a seat so there was only one seat between them. She touched his hands. He stared at her, bewildered.
She's touching me!!!!! Ahhhhh!
"Ward," Skye said and didn't look at him. "God says everyone deserves forgiveness, no matter what you do. So..........are you truly sorry for what you did?"
Ward stared at her in shock. She looked at him and raised an eyebrow.
"Of course!" He replied. "That's what I've been trying to tell you this whole time!"
"Well, then," Skye said and scooted over so she was sitting right next to him. "I forgive you."
Ward stared at her, a grin slowly growing across his face. He couldn't believe this was happening. He was finally accepted again!
Then he grabbed Skye's head and kissed her.
