5.

After breakfast the next day, Yoongi patiently waited for the adorable blond boy on the top deck. That was their designated meeting spot now, Yoongi excited to see him and less nervous too.

"Yoongi~" He heard Jimin call, turning around to see the smaller approaching with a smile. As required, Jimin had to continue to wear the nasal cannula but it wasn't too much of issue because the oxygen tank was small enough to fit in a mini backpack.

He wore a pair of overalls shorts again but they were pastel purple this time, matching it with a blue long sleeve and a pair of pastel pink sneakers. He wore a small purple hair clip and his face was coated with a layer of soft makeup.

Yoongi simply stared in awe, clueless as to how the boy managed to effortlessly look ethereal. He felt almost underdressed, opting for a plain pair of black skinny jeans, a plain black t-shirt with black sneakers and his black bucket hat to top off the outfit.

"What?" Jimin asked after a couple of seconds of Yoongi staring at him. "Nothing you just...look really pretty." Yoongi didn't mean to say that as an answer but it slipped anyways.

"Oh, thank you." He smiled, eyes disappearing into little crescents. "What should we do today?" Jimin asked. "I dunno, our options are pretty limited now." Yoongi searched the list of recreational activities on the cruise.

"Um, there's a dessert shop/café." Yoongi suggested. "We could go there after lunch. We just ate breakfast, silly." Jimin giggled softly. "There's a spa." Yoongi put the option out there.

"Nah, I rather do that before bedtime." Jimin shook his head.  "Well, there's not much to do." Yoongi shrugged. "I guess we could just take a lap around the ship." Yoongi laughed.

"Yeah, sorry." Jimin mumured. "No, it's okay." Yoongi assured. "Wait..." Jimin stopped Yoongi before they could walk away.

"My mom told me to do this as an extra precaution but, can I hold your hand?" Jimin asked. Yoongi's heart abruptly lurched against his chest, the tips of his ears reddening.

"S-Sure. I don't mind." Yoongi nodded. He held his hand out for Jimin to take, the younger's small hand grasping into his and interlacing their fingers together as the began heading for the stairs.

"Tell me if you need to take a break and we can sit down for a little while." Yoongi said and Jimin nodded.

Along the way, Yoongi stopped multiple times to take pictures with his polaroid, Jimin quick to start wandering off every time.

They stopped at an area of the main deck where the pool was, Yoongi thinking for a moment. "Would getting in the pool make things worse for you?" Yoongi asked.

"I'd have to stay in the shallow end and keep my head above the water at all times." Jimin said. "We could go swimming tomorrow, I should be okay to roam around without this." Jimin referee to the nasal cannula.

Yoongi took a picture before thinking for a moment. "Hey Jimin?" He called, the boy turning to face him. "Can I take you picture?" Yoongi asked. "Why?" Jimin questioned.

"Well, I was going to put all the pictures I took into a memory book. I always take pictures of all my happy memories and put them in a book." Yoongi explained.

Jimin started blushing at the explanation, flattered to be considered a happy memory of Yoongi's.

"Sure." Jimin nodded. He stood in front of the railing so that there was a good background of the ocean, Yoongi holding the camera up to his face.

Jimin smiled adorably, Yoongi admiring his beauty for a couple of seconds before snapping the photo, waiting for it to print before placing it in the bag.

"Why are you wearing all black? It's so hot out here." Jimin noticed Yoongi's attire. "It's pretty much the only color I own." Yoongi said.

"Pastel colors are better." Jimin nodded. "Maybe for you, I just prefer black, a little bit of grey and white, and maybe some other colors." He shrugged.

"You're no fun." Jimin mumbled, reaching back over to hold Yoongi's hand.

"So, you said you just moved to Seoul?" Yoongi asked. "Yeah, a couple of weeks ago." Jimin responded. "Do you like it so far?" Yoongi looked at him for a second.

"Of course! Way better than living in a small town." Jimin answered truthfully. "But now I have to start over making friends and it's pointless really since I'm not even gonna be here after year-" "Jimin..." Yoongi stopped him.

He stopped walking, Jimin turning to face him. "What?" Jimin uttered. Yoongi suddenly let go of his hand, carefully wrapping his arms around the boy's torso to hug him.

Jimin hugged back quickly, Yoongi letting out a sigh. "I know you say that a lot as a way to cope, but I don't wanna think about it. I'm happy that you're still here now, and that you're alive." Yoongi spoke softly.

"I'm sorry, Yoongi." Jimin whispered. "You're seriously the only person who's been genuinely nice to me as a friend and I just wanna enjoy that for a little longer without thinking about losing you." He concluded.

"I'm happy I can be your friend." Jimin leaned away a little, smiling faintly as he stared into Yoongi's eyes.

Jimin had a moment of realization that Yoongi most definitely had the potential of being someone he'd want to be more than friends with, but he didn't want to put Yoongi through that pain if they became too emotionally attached to each other only for Yoongi to lose him.

They let go of each other, Yoongi continuing to hold his hand as they walked around.

...

After lunch, they stopped into the dessert shop/ café as promised, Yoongi taking Jimin's photo in front of the large cupcake display.

They both picked out a couple of desserts and a drink before settling at a table. Jimin hummed softly as he munched on a cupcake, Yoongi's heart warming at how happy he looked. It was just so wholesome, he had to take another picture of him.

"Yoongi!" Jimin whined. "What?" Yoongi chuckled. "Don't keep that picture, I had frosting all over my face." Jimin mumbled as he wiped the frosting away from his lips with a napkin.

"No, I'm keeping it. You look adorable in it." Yoongi started to become more bold with his words. If he was going to shoot his shot with Jimin, he'd at least have to give off subtle hints he was interested in him.

"Whatever." Jimin rolled his eyes playfully. "Do you take medication for your illness?" Yoongi asked. "Oh, I almost forgot." Jimin reached into his miniature backpack, retrieving a small bottle of red and white pills.

"I do, it helps suppress some of the symptoms." Jimin popped two into his mouth, downing them with a sip of his drink. "You said it affects some other parts of your body, like what for example?" Yoongi wondered.

"My brain, it hasn't in a while since I recently started taking medication, but I used get hallucinations sometimes, as well as depressive and suicidal thoughts. It was really scary." Jimin explained.

"Aww, I'm sorry." Yoongi murmured. "For a short period it also reduced my appetite for a while so I was barely eating for a few months which wasn't good because I lost a lot of weight, which is dangerous considering how bad my condition is already." He went on.

"I had to be on a feeding tube for a while until I got my appetite back. I still never gained the weight back fully though." Jimin pouted, Yoongi noticing that he was pretty slim in stature.

"That sounds like it sucked." Yoongi cringed. "Yeah, I couldn't eat normal food for a while. On top of that, my 'friends' would pick on me because of how skinny I got." Jimin further explained.

"Jimin, I don't think you ever really had true friends." Yoongi shook his head. "No, I know I didn't. Which sucks  because- never mind." Jimin realized he was going to bring up the current situation again.

"I know, it's okay." Yoongi said. "Anyways, this illness if definitely not the easiest thing to live with." Jimin nodded. "You seem to be handling it well though, that's good." Yoongi reminded.

"It's because I'm used to it by now." Jimin shrugged. He took one last bite of his cookie before declaring he was full, being they'd had lunch before even coming to the café.

"I wonder what our parents are up to." Yoongi chuckled as they exited the building back out into the blazing summer heat.

"My mom told me that they were meeting up with your parents." Jimin informed. "Oh...really?" Yoongi asked. "Yep, they're going out for drinks later on tonight." Jimin giggled softly.

"Well, at least they're starting to be friends too." Yoongi laughed a little. "You know, I probably would've never met you if I hadn't caught you staring at me a couple days ago." Jimin teased.

"Oh whatever." Yoongi nudged the boy playfully. "Am I that pretty?" He continued to tease Yoongi. "Maybe." Yoongi answered, feeling his face start to quickly heat up as Jimin giggled adorably.

He smiled to himself, grateful that they'd met each other in such circumstances.
