Chapter Four: The day it all started

~12 years back~

Kai wakes up and runs to his parents room to wake his daddy up, but daddy isn't there. He also notices mommy isn't there either. He runs to the kitchen where mommy is pouring two bowls of cerial. "Kairen, your up?" She asks. "Wes!" He answers. "Well good, I was about to get you!" She says. He sits in his high chair and notices that daddy still isn't there. "Where is daddy?" He asks. His brown hair starting to fall in his face.

Flaira looks to her son nervously. "Daddy is on a trip honny." She says. Kai looks curious. "Why?" He asks. "Daddy had to.... Finnish up some work... He'll be back soon, I promis!" She lies. He believes her and goes back to eating his cerial.

Flaira smiles saddly to her son. How was she going to tell him that he may never see his father again?

Last night.... Last night she came home late from visiting her old friend, Meranda. She walked inside and something felt off. She went to check on Kairen.... And found Pythor over the sleeping child with a knife. His eyes glowed like the moon. (A\\N: Just like in the show! Before this his eyes never glowed BTW!)

He was about to bring the knife down on his son and she stoped him. She turned into her snake form and lept at him! She knocked him over and held him down. He thrashed around a bit before closing his eyes and opening them, the glow was gone. "Flaira!" He says angrily, but not angry at her.... No.... Angry at himself.

They went to the kitchen. "I am tired of this!" Pythor says angrily. "I can't trust myself around my own son!" He says and hangs his head. "This darn curse is getting worse..." Flaira says. Pythor nods in agreement. "And whats worse? One day it will completely consume me. I won't recognize you or Kairen... I'll only want for my own gain... For power.... I'll be a pluage on this world!" He rants. She looks sadly at the man...er... Snake she fell in love with.

"What do we do?" She asks. "I can't stay here..." Pythor says. Flaira looks to him. "What about me and Kairen?! You can't leave us! You can't leave your son without a father!" She yells at him. He glares. "What am I suppose to do?!" He yells at her and stands from his seat. "I JUST TRIED TO KILL MY OWN SON!!!" He screams in sobs. "That wasn't you Pythor!" Flaira says and stands, cupping his face. "It was this darn curse!" She says angrily. "It still almost made me murder my own son Flaira... I can't do this anymore! The longer I'm here the more you and Kairen are in danger!" He pleads. "Please... Lock me back up in the Anacondrai tomb... So that you two will be safe." He begs of her.

Flaira begins to cry. "I love you Pythor Chumsworth..." She says. "And I love you, Flaira Chumsworth..." He says and they kiss. Later on, they share one last time together and leave for the Anacondrai tomb.

Flaira opens it up & Pythor slithers in. They kiss and he goes in. She closes up the tomb then heads back home. Once she reaches the house, it's morning so she makes cerial for breakfast.

Y'all know what happens then!

Latter that day Kairen is watching a movie when Flaira comes out holding bags for her and Kairen. "Wanna visit uncle?!" She asks him. He perks up. "Uncle?! Was!" He says happily. They leave after she locks up the home.

When they reach her brother's home Flaira knocks. Both in human form. The man Flaira calls brother answers. "Sister?" He asks her. Can I come in? We need to discus something. Ergently." She says and he lets them in. The three adults walk to the kitchen to talk and Kairen visits cousin Nya's nursery. He giggles when he sees the sleeping baby two year old.

Once the adults are done, Flaira gives her sister-in-law Kai's bags then heads out the door. "Mommy?" Kairen asks as he runs after his retreating mother. "Mommy! Where are you going?" He asks as he follows her. She just runs.

There was no way she could suport him without Pythor! She had no job and Pythor did all the hunting! He'd bring home food for them and to sell! Without him there was no income! She wanted to find a cure for the curse as well, but knew Kairen needed proper schooling.

She ran across a bridge and into the forest. Kairen was crying at this point and chasing his mother. When he got to the bridge, he fell through and into the river. Flaira was long gone at this point and had no clue.

He strugled to keep his head above water, but the river was rough & he didn't know how to swim! He soon went under and stayed there. His eyes started to close when he felt someone grabbing him & pulling him up.

From that day on... He hated that day & water.... With a burning passion. To many bad memorries...
