Chapter Three: What's your damage?!

Kai wakes up the next day and looks around. Cole, Lloyd, and Zane are already up & out of the room, but Jay is still asleep.

Kai gets a wicked grin and throws a pillow at Jay's head. Jay jolts awake and falls off the bed. He looks to Kai with a glare. "WHAT'S YOUR DAMAGE?!" He yells and Kai laughs so hard he falls off his own bed. The two then look at each other with wide eyes before they both crack up.

Once the two calm down they get up with short chuckles. Jay walks to the door to leave when Kai gets nervouse. "I'm sorry." Kai says and Jay turns around. "For what? If it's about the pillow then your OK man, you pretty much made up when you fell two man!" Jay says. "No, for last night. I was an ass, you guys probably put a lot of effort into that. I just... I've always hated my birthday......" Kai trails off and tears prick his eyes as memories of all those abusive years flood his brain. "Hey, it's OK. Nya told us... I just. It was one of my stupid ideas. I wanted to give you a reason to like your birthday for once... You know?" Jay replys. Both boys look to each other. "Well, thanks... I appreciate it, but no amount of parties is going to take away the painful memories I have of my birthdays growing up." Kai explains. "What exactly happened? Even Nya doesnt know..." Jay asks. Kai shrugs. "I'd rather not talk about it man... I... I..." Kai starts to tear up. "Hey, hey! I get it! It's to painful! I won't pressure you so don't worrie! OK?" Jay says and they nod to each other.

Jay then heads out and Kai lingers behind. He goes to his drawr and pulls out the album again. Locking the door, he gets in his bed and flips through the pages.

Latter that day, Kai spars with Jay, Cole with Lloyd, and Zane with Nya. Wu supervises as always and Misako is at the monitor again. All is well.

Cole and Lloyd give each other death glares the whole time they spar when out of no where Kai crashes onto them with a thud. Kai looks to Jay who looks terrified... Kai stands up. Nya and Zane have stoped to see whats going on. "I am so, so, so sorry! I didn't mean to push that hard!" Jay says as Kai looks pissed. When Jay pees his pants Kai cracks up and so do Cole & Lloyd.

After a while, they sober up and Jay runs to change into a new gi.
