Mina's POV

It was now night time and I just got home from school. After what happened this morning nobody else bullied me but I received lots of deadly glares.

I slumped in the couch as I tried to process what my mom said to me.

Engagement? With MingMing? I just had him as a new friend who really appreciated me for me, and then this happens. Well I have no complaints about the engagement since who wouldn't want someone like MingMing to be their boyfriend, fiancé and husband who would defend you no matter what, and listens to your problems and understands you, I know I would want someone like that.

I heard a knock on my door and that's probably MingMing, I went to the door and opened it but was shocked to see my mom there

"Mom! What are you doing here?" I asked shockingly not wanting to sound rude

"Well, I just wanted to visit my little girl" she said and kissed my cheeks

She entered and went straight to the kitchen. I stood there looking at her. What?

"Hey, why are you modeling there in your front door?" I jumped a bit and looked behind me only to see MingMing laughing

"Yah! Don't scare me like that!" I said hitting his chest

"Mina, who's there?" My mom asked from the kitchen

I closed the door as MingMing entered.

"It's Ming" I shouted

"Oh he's here?" My mom appeared in the living room and went straight to Ming

I can tell she went here expecting MingMing to be over. I sighed and went near them

"So you really were here the last 2 days" she said smiling

Ming smiled at her and turned to me and his eyes were saying 'I need to talk to you. ALONE'

"Mom, can I talk to Ming? Alone?" I told my mom

"Oh sure, go ahead and go to your room, I'll be in the kitchen making us dinner" she said and went back to the kitchen

I went to my room as mom said with MingMing following behind me.

"So what do you want to talk about?" I asked sitting on my bed

"About the engagement... Look I know we just became friends, and I know what you're thinking. Why do we have to be engaged when we just met a few days ago? What I'm trying to say is, why not ignore the engagement thing and just be friends first? If one of us falls in love, we should fess us the moment we realize it but if the other doesn't feel the same we should tell our parents before they continue the engagement" he smiled

I sat there thinking about what he said. He's right, we both don't feel anything in a romantic way for each other. We should probably forget about the engagement thing for now. But wait...

"What if both of us falls in love?" I asked

He smiled and went near me "Then we don't have any complaints if we get married"

I blushed at the thought of getting married to Yao Ming Ming

"You're right" I said agreeing with him

I wish everything goes well. I'm sure we won't fall in love. I mean, after those two days I spent with him I already feel like I'm falling, how much more when we spend more time together... I would be the one who will fall for him...

***** 5 years later *****

I was watching television until I heard a knock on my door. I jumped up standing

"Oooo, pizza's here!" I said clapping excitedly

I rushed to the door and opened it "Piz--- za..." Instead of seeing a delivery guy with a box of pizza I saw MingMing

"Mina..." He hummed but you just crossed your arms

"You show up yourself after believing your girlfriend over me and leaving me 3 years ago. Now what do you want?" I said raising my eyebrows

You heard me right people. This guy here left me for his girlfriend. Want to know what happened?

***** Flashback 3 years ago *****

I can do this. I'll just confess to him and then just say that I won't let it bother me and just stay as friends. That simple. I'm just gonna tell him I fell for him.

Oh who am I kidding?! This is the hardest thing I'm ever gonna do!!! I'm gonna confess to MingMing and he might feel awkward around me after!!! Ugh!!!! You can do this Mina. You've been best friends for 2 years and you had an agreement to fess up your feelings when one of you realize it. You can do this!

I rang the doorbell in his house and waited for someone to open the door. Woooo, getting a lot more nervous here.

The door opened and revealed a girl with tight clothes and short shorts. I believe I have never seen this girl in my entire life before

"Who are you?" The girl asked me looking at me disgustingly

Mina, chill. Relax. You can't rip this girl's head off yet. Maybe it's just MingMing's friend. Breath. Be friendly

"Oh I'm MingMing's best friends, Mina. Is he there? I kinda want to talk to him" I said politely

"So you're Mina. I'm his girlfriend. And yes he's here, but if I were you I won't talk to him while I'm in the way. He's mine, you better back off" she said

Wait, Ming has a girlfriend? He never told me this. Why would he hide that from me? And I found out now just when I'm about to confess. But I won't let that stop me, I just need to tell him how I feel.

"Look, MingMing and I are best friends, so can I just talk to hi---" I wasn't able to finish my sentence due to a slap

I held my cheek shocked. What did I do?! I've been polite to her, and yet she does this to me. What kind of person is she?! Did her parents ever taught her manners?!

"Don't go near him" she warned

She's not stopping me from confessing my feelings

"I'm sorry but I just really need to talk to MingMing so if you could just let me in..." I said trying to get pass her but she grabbed my hair and continued slapping me

"Bitch, I said you can't go near him!" She shouted

I pushed the pain in my head away and used all my force to push her away and she fell to the ground.

"[Any Name]!" Ming shouted kneeling next to her "Mina! What did you do to her?!" He shouted at me

What did I do?! WHAT DID I DO??!! Is he kidding me??!! I got slapped and my hair almost got pulled out because of her and he's asking me what I did to her?! Can't he see how red my cheeks are and how messy my hair is?!

"I didn't do anything. I just wanted to talk to you" I said still trying to be calm

"She... She pulled my hair and slapped me continuously telling me that she was your girlfriend and to stay away from you cause you're hers" the girl said and started sobbing

Oh! Oh she did not just said that!! Argh!!!

"Mina, why would you do that?! We're best friends but you never been my girlfriend!" He shouted at me

"But I never said those! She's the one who said that to me!" I said pointing at the girl

"And now she's making me look bad!" The girl cried out

Please! You got to be kidding me!!! Don't tell me he's fooled by that!!!

"Mina, I think it's best for you to leave" Ming said closing his eyes

"But--"

"I said, LEAVE!!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs

I looked at him with disbelief. And I called this guy my best friend. I was always there for him when he needed someone, and yet he chooses to believe this girl than me. I laughed bitterly and looked at Ming straight in the eyes, my own eyes getting teary

"I've been the best, best friend for you. But yet my best, is not best enough for you. You chose this girlfriend of yours over your best friend. Sure I'll respect that if what she was saying was true. But I am the victim!!! I got slap once, my hair got pulled, and my cheeks have been slapped again continuously. And I went here, grabbed, and piled up my courage to tell you that, I.love.you. But I guess that's pointless now" I said and ran away

And after that I heard from auntie that he went in another country and he never showed himself in front of me again, not until now

"Mina" he called out again and tried to hold my hand but I avoided it "I just want to talk to you"

"Sure, I'll give you a chance to talk" I said leaning in the doorframe

Well I can't deny the fact that I still like this guy. He was the only one who stood beside me for so long. And when he disappeared, I have lived my life alone once again. But I faced those consequences and earned new friends. And I'm glad for that. But even after 3 years I still like him. More like love him

"I know I should have believed you" he said looking down

"You got that right. Did you know how much my head hurts before? She pulled out a few locks of my hair. And my cheeks were burning that time" I answered back and he looked at me again concerned and continued

"I'm sorry about that. It's just I was scared that she'll tell her Dad about it and I know I left you and I'm sorry, but my reason is valid. I went to states to date that girl you saw..." I was about to go inside when he held my wrist and pulled me closer to him "Her father threatened to shut our company down if I didn't date her. They could easily do shut us down because they are the owners of the most powerful companies around the world. But then they noticed that after years had passed I still didn't feel anything for her because I never stopped loving you! MinaIloveyou" He continued in a fast speed of talking and the last one was the fastest

I stood there frozen still being held close to him shocked but what he just said. They... Threatened their company... To date that girl so they won't shut... Their company... But I think I didn't hear him right

"What was that last one?" I asked blinking lots of times

He sighed and looked at me "I love you" he said full of sincerity

I didn't waste a second and pulled him for a kiss. He was stiff at first but then softened and held my cheeks.

That was all I need, a simple explanation. He slowly pulled away and smiled at me

"And by the way our wedding is coming soon" he said smirking

"I do" I said even if he wasn't asking and he laughed at that

"I'm not letting you go again" he said putting our foreheads together

"You better not" I said chuckling

He leaned in and once again kissed me

The crowd went wild as MingMing kissed me and spun me around not breaking our kiss.

"You're now officially mine Mrs Yao" he said

"I am officially yours" I repeated giggling

"Don't get excited about seeing my abs again tonight" he said smirking

"No need. I can see abs anytime right here" I said holding my abdomen

His eyes widened and looked down at me "Yeap, Mrs Mina Yao has been working out" I said laughing
