When I wake up in the morning, my mind is fuzzy and at first I can't remember a thing that happened the night before. Then the clouds clear, and I remember everything from the encounter with Sonic and the rest of them to the kiss with Melody. I can still hear her soft sweet voice confirming that she returned my feelings.

I get up and look at the clock that is now on the wall. The clock reads 9:00am, so everyone must be getting up. We always do get up at around this time. I walk out of my room and see Melody's door opened slightly, like always. I walk to the stage room and into a door on my right, into the dining area, which is connected to the kitchen. Normally, Melody is in the kitchen making breakfast and Rouge is sitting at the table talking to her about something. But Melody is not there, and Rouge is standing beside the table reading a note.

I walk up to her and try to read the note over her shoulder. For being a girl she sure has a big shoulder, I can't read a single word. She turns around and sees me trying to read it, so she holds it out to me and says "Did something happen between you two last night, because you two seemed a little too happy last night when you came in."

I take the note and read it, ignoring her question for now.

Dear Shadow and Rouge,
  I needed to go out this morning for some personal reasons. You can come find me if you want, but don't be surprised if I don't talk much. Shadow, I'm sorry and I hope you understand that this has nothing to do with you, what I said last night still stands, I just needed to get out of the house. I'll be back by noon or evening.

That was more like a letter then a note. Oh well, I'm going to have to explain what happened last night now. I'm sure Rouge is not going to let me go until I have. "When I went out yesterday morning when you were asleep I realize that I love her. So last night, I decided to try to kiss her, and she said that she loved me too."

She just stares at me, most likely in shock. Most of the time, it's hard enough just to get on good terms with me, let alone be friends with me. This must seem like the impossible with just done and she completely missed it, which she did, but I'm glad she did because it would have been a lot more uncomfortable if she was there.

"I'm going to go see if I can find her, I'll be back." I tell Rouge, and teleport away before she could say anything. This is a part of the forest that I have never been in before, but I can hear Melody's singing so I know I'm in the right spot. I walk into a clearing where I see my beautiful Melody singing happily.

I've never heard this song but I sounds like a duet, even though she's singing on her own. The song is called 'Promise' (by Samfree) and it is one of the most beautiful songs yet. Once she is done, she sits on some large flat rocks, so I decide to come out. She looks at me and smiles, then pats the rock, telling me to come sit with her.

When we are sitting together, she pulls a pendent out of her pocket. The pendent itself is made out of metal, and has what look like a big wave coming out of the sea below it, frozen in time. The color that was there is now faded so the pendent is different shades of greys.

"Its... Old looking." I tell her, what else I'm I suppose to say? She giggles a little, then looks back at it, her small smile washed over with sadness.

"Yes this pendent is quite old, it was forged before I was born. In my village, I was born to save everyone, so everyone was always calling me the 'miracle child' just because of that. A king and queen of somewhere really far away was originally going to be sent this pendent, along with the one my brother has, but they decided to let use have them. I was young but I knew that I wanted to one that represent the ocean, my brother got the one that represented land. We were given them to celebrate my brother be coming the official guardian for the Master Emerald." She takes a deep breath and sighs. "I know something is going to happen soon, something that will completely change his thought process, but I can't tell what it is."

I'm just looking at the pendent the entire time. The story's of her life that she has to tell always amaze me in a positive or negative way. But I'm uncertain of how I feel about this one.

"What about the song you were singing?" I ask her, just because I'm curious.

"Its a song that I created in my last month with my brother, promising that I will never really be gone and that I'd be back someday." She replies, then she puts the pendent around her neck and leans back on the rock, her body and arms making the two top lines in triangle. "I'm really sorry Shadow, but can I just want to be alone right now."

"Alright, just come back before dark." I tell her. I peck her on the check with a small and short kiss before running off back home.

Rouge: First I miss them kissing, and now I miss another piece of her past! Are you TRYING to leave me out!?
Me: No, apparently your just never there at the right time.
Rouge: UGGGH!!!!
Me: And while she's dealing with being annoyed out of her mind, I will let you know that I will now be posting a chapter from each of my books at the same time, unless I decide other wise since the storys are basically up to date with each other. Some events happen in one book before the other, so I will always post that one first. Are you better now Rouge?
Rouge: -annoyed groaning- Ya, I guess.
