Chapter 14 

The next day Riley looked really excited. "Guess what?" she said.  

"What?"  

"Jared asked me out! Isn't that great?"  

"Really?"  

"Yeah, at the party last night!"  

"That's great. I hope you're happy with him."  

After school I walked to the track to see Wes run. When I got there, Riley was sitting in the first bleacher. I walked to where she was sitting, "Is Jared here today?" She kind of jumped, "Yes, he is." I saw Wes talking to the coach. "Wes and Jared please step towards the starting line." the coach said. While Wes was walking to the starting line he saw me and gave me a quick wave. I smiled and waved at him. They got into their ready position. "On your mark, get set, GO!" the coach screamed. At first they were both a tie but then Wes started to beat him. Jared started to stay behind Wes, while Wes kept going and going until he reached the finish. "Great job boys, but Jared you have to start keeping up." the coach said to Jared. "Hey, Jaden." Wes walked to the fence line that divided the bleachers and the track field. He wiped his sweat with a towel.  

"You did a great job." I said to him.  

"Thanks. Do want to go to a baseball game on Friday with me and my family?" he asked. "Your family?" 

"Yeah, you could invite your family, too. We could all bond."  

"Aren't, like, the tickets expensive?"  

"Don't worry. We'll figure something out. So, yes or no?"  

"Yeah, sure, but my parents can help pay, too."  

"Great! Then I'll see you this Friday night." He said walking towards the locker room.

Friday... The baseball game was between Marlins and the Red Sox. We were lucky enough to sit in one of the front sections. I sat with Wes at the end. All of us seemed to get along with each other.  

'Take Me Out to the Ball Game' played so in between one of the breaks Wes asked me, "Hey, do you want to go get a snack?"  

"Sure." I got up and when I turned around Wes was kneeled down. "Wes..."I whispered. "Jaden Moreno," he took out a box and opened it, "would you like to be my girlfriend?" I didn't know what to say, so I just stood there frozen.  

"Yes Wes, I'd like to be your girlfriend!" He got up and hugged me. He took the necklace out from the box and put it on around my neck. I grabbed the charm and put it in between my fingers. "You made it?" He nodded.  

He put his arms around my waist and I gave him a kiss. I realized that everyone around us was clapping. "You didn't really need to buy a snack, did you?" I asked him. 

"Nope." He said happily.  

The game ended with Marlins 3 and Red Sox 4.

OMG!!!!! They are officially boyfriend and girlfriend! Yay!! I actually liked that Wes asked Jaden out at a baseball game....awwwww! :) What did you guys think? Did you like how Wes asked Jaden out at a baseball game? By the way I'm sorry that this chapter is short but chapter 15 is going to be longer.
