Mephiles x reader: Contract

You are a (A/T)

Always read the terms and conditions.

"P-please... don't kill me.." a male cat begged.

His breaths were ragged as he looked up as he was crumpled up on the floor, his limbs in tatters. But his attacker just looked back down at him with sorrowful eyes.

"Trust me, I wouldn't kill you if I had a choice." the attacker apologized.

And the man gave one last shriek as his life was ended by a knife to the heart.

Once his body was limp and breathless the attacker gagged as they stumbled out of the alleyway, bloody knife in hand. Reaching the end of the alleyway they lent against the rough brick wall trying to get their breaths to be even. But once calmed down she looked up at the moon her eyes pleading.

Why? Why do I have to kill? She asked herself.

"Splendid job."

Snapping her head back to the bloody sight she saw a figure towering over the corpse. The figure then lifted a hand and a sort of green light essence came from the dead body and was absorbed into the figures palm.

"You disgust me." the girl spat at the figure.

"You have no one else to blame for this situation but yourself." the figure commented, a trace of humor in their voice.

The (A/T) just turned away from the figure walking off to find somewhere she could clean her knife.

It's my fault, I'm so stupid! Why can't I just go back to then!?

*************************

It was once again night, and the (A/T) was once again in an alley way, but this time the tables were turned. She was desperately running from a large wolf who was chasing after her, and she had made the mistake of running down a secluded alley way, the perfect setting for a crime.

"Come here sweetheart!" the wolf called.

And as he did he got a deadly grip of her wrist throwing her against the wall, she gave a shrill scream as she collided painfully hearing a crack at the back of her skull, sinking to the floor her vision was blurring. But she could see clear as crystal the wolf standing in front of her chuckling.

"L-leave me alone..." she said weakly.

"Awwww, does the little (A/T) feel powerless? Come on sweetie I promise I'll show you a good time." he chuckled.

"G-go away..." she attempted again.

The wolf gave another deep chuckle but a sharp gasp could then be heard, followed by a large *THUD!* as something, or someone fell to the ground. With her vision blurring the (A/T) could only just manage to make out that the wolf now lay of the floor... dead.

Glancing up she could just make out the figure of a hedgehog looking down at her.

"Help..." she pleaded.

The figure stayed silent though, almost as if they were considering something.

"If I aid you I expect something in return." the figure answered in a deep voice, she could tell it was a man.

"W-what do you want?" she asked growing scared that his intentions were the same as the wolf.

"Your name."

"My n-name?"

"Specifically your full name." the figure stated.

Her vision was getting worse by the second and she could feel the blood dripping down thickly down the back of her neck, she didn't have much time left. There no chance to ask questions. And besides how much could this man do with her full name?

"My name is (Y/N) (M/N) (L/N)." she agreed.

"Then the bargain is struck."

Then suddenly she felt a sense of energy radiating into her, and the last thing she sore before she passed out was endless green.

*****************

Back to the present the girl soon realized once she awoke the size of what she had condemned herself to.

The man who had 'helped' her was a mysterious hedgehog named Mephiles. And he was devious.

It turned out that he could do a lot with her name, a name is a title and a title is who you are. And when she gave Mephiles her name she unintentionally entered into a contract. A contract that made her unable to resist any of his commands, she had to follow his orders regardless of her own wishes.

So by giving him her name he essentially owned her.

He used her to do what she called his 'dirty work'. Mephiles was a creature that fed off chaos energy to survive, and every Mobain has a certain amount of chaos energy within them. Children, thankfully, had very little in them. Teenagers had a little more, but it was adults who had the most energy within them.

So Mephiles had (Y/N) kill innocent people for him, she would use her 'womanly wiles' to attract unsuspecting victims into secluded areas and kill them. But only if it was as simple as slitting a throat or stabbing a heart. No.

Adrenaline allowed chaos energy in a mobians body for a short while, so she was forced to make her victims suffer. Severed limbs and nerves, beatings and punches, anything that got the blood pumping through fear. She was ordered to do.

And now she was forced to do it again, another night, another victim. Another order.

"P-please..." the victim begged.

But she ended their life without hesitation, and she the hardest thing was was that she couldn't say sorry. Because that would be the cruelest thing to do.

As usual Mephiles came after the kill to reap the rewards.

"Your methods are improving." he commented with a slight deep chuckle.

"I don't see it as much of an accomplishment." (Y/N) spat wiping blood off her face.

"Now my little spirit, you continue to be increasingly negative." he taunted.

That was his name for her, he never used her real name. She was known as 'spirit' because the contract entailed that she was now an immortal. There was no escape for her.

"Is it any wonder why!? When you have me kill against my will!" she shrieked at him.

"You entered the contract of your own free will, you were the one who failed to consider and take into consideration what it entailed." he stated.

Unfortunately he was right, and there was nothing she could do.

~50 years later~

To this day she was still amazed at how her body hadn't aged a single day. But her mind had certainly grown. She had learnt to block out the deaths of all she had killed and learnt to simply deal with it.

"Spirit come here." Mephiles ordered.

Giving a whisper of a sigh she stood up from the dark corner she had been crouched down in. As she walked towards where his voice had originated from she clutched her knife, her throat tightening at the thought of killing again.

"How many do you want me to kill this time?" She asked him with his back faces to her.

"I have need for any more." He stated.

"What?" She questioned back in an astonished whisper.

"I do not need to repeat myself to you Spirit, I no longer have any need for you." He said again still not facing her.

She was too stunned to think straight. After 50 years why was he just turning around and saying this?

"No."

He turned to face her with the set stone expression.

"After 50 years, you don't get to turn around and just say that I'm no longer of use to you." She spat angrily.

"I struck the bargain and now I am terminating it. Now leave." He commanded.

"I won't leave until I am at least given an explanation as to why I am no longer of use to you." She demanded.

"If it will make you leave then I shall give you an explanation. I have gathered enough chaos energy to replenish my powers and so I longer require you to scavenge for chaos energy." He explained quickly.

"I'm sorry but you don't get to get rid of me that easily. You entered this contract of your own free will as well, and you were the one who failed to consider and take into consideration what it entailed. By making me immortal I now have no where to return to, all of my family are dead. So your stuck with me now, whether you like it or not." She boldly said.

"Your situation no longer concerns me." He said turning away.

"Well I'll make it your concern." She stated stepping up to him.

He looked down at her showing no change in expression.

"You've always been stubborn Spirit." He admitted.

"And I'll keep being stubborn, besides I thought you would welcome an immortal companion." She said.

For the first time ever Mephiles gave a sigh before turning around and headed out the abandoned building.

"Very well, then let us go.... (Y/N)."

First of all, sorry if this one wasn't great and secondly, Halloween. Now I wanted to do a big set of specials but I'm afraid that I still have writers block.

So I'll try my best to do a themed one shot but I can't promise anything. Sorry guys...
