Amelia's P.O.V:

I twisted the key, so I could open my front door, with a struggle. I eventually got it open and stumbled through the door.

Thank god my parents were out. I would have received one of the largest lectures and groundings ever with how drunk I was.

I chucked my jacket over the banister and took my top off. I chucked it into the washing basket and took my shoes off whilst I stumbled up the stairs noisily. I walked into my room, swaying. I wanted nothing more than my bed. I switched my light on and stumbled backwards at the sight of him. He was simply sitting on the end of my bed,  looking at a picture that was in a frame on my bedside table. The only picture I had of all my best friends. Cher, Tommy, Derek, Jimmy, Aaron and Ryan. He smirked when he noticed me. He stood up and walked over to me, I stood my ground, knowing that if he even caught on to the fact that I was in no state to fight he would use it to his advantage. Once he reached me he put his hands on my shoulders and ran them down my arms. I shivered in disgust at his touch. It made me sick to my stomach. He made me sick to my stomach. Whenever I looked at him, all I could see were the people he abused. The people he took advantage of. The people he forced himself on. The people he killed.

It was wrong. It was all so wrong.

His eyes raked down my body, making me remember that I had taken my top off and was only in some leggings and a bra. He tutted three times with his tongue, a satisfied look was resting on his ugly face.

"So much has changed since the last time. The last time I properly..." He trailed off, his head tilted to the side, his eyes came off of my body to meet my own. "Properly saw you like this. Tell me, Mil. Why so quiet? I thought you changed? I thought you were some kind of monster, hmm? I mean, it's obvious you've been drinking by the state of you, but still. You're more fun then, aren't you?" He asked, twirling a piece of my hair in his grubby fingers. I stayed quiet, knowing I would say the wrong thing if I opened my mouth. He suddenly took his hand off of my hair and rose it. I thought it was just a threat to get me to talk, but I was wrong.

His hand collided harshly with my face, making my head turn. It wasn't long before he screamed,

"Answer me you selfish, worthless b*tch!"

I scrunched my face up.

"Ouch." I muttered and he chuckled dryly.

"Ouch. Is that all you have to say to me?" He screeched, before he grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. He held me there for a few seconds but when I didn't talk he threw me backwards, making me collide with my chest of draws. Everything that was on top of it fell off, including my mirror which shattered when it hit the ground. I immediately felt a stinging in my lower back but chose to ignore it, knowing it wasn't the time to be complaining. He stormed over to me and grabbed me harshly once again. I tried my hardest to fight him off but I was tired and drunk and in no state of mind to be thinking about fighting tactics. He pushed me backwards once more, but in the other direction, towards my wardrobe. He pushed me with such force that I fell head first and my wardrobe collapsed underneath my weight. It was old and cheap and creaked whenever I opened the door, hence why it collapsed. I landed in a heap on the floor, along with sharp, broken pieces of wood.

I looked down at my stinging hands to find them covered with blood. I could feel a steady dripping from my nose, also.

My holder. Where did I leave it?

I looked around, but couldn't see it anywhere.

"Looking for something, Mil?" He asked, dangling my belt in front of him. I quickly ran to my bed and lifted the mattress, only to reveal a small, spare pocket knife I had. I held it out to him, menacingly. He laughed at me.

"Do you think I didn't know that was there?" He asked and took a small, sleek hand-gun out of his pocket. He then put my belt around him and looked me straight in the eye whilst he held the gun up to me from across the room.  My heart beat fastened as I realised that this really could have been it. That those last few minutes could've been my last. That i'd never be able to see everyone I loved again.

That I'd leave with everyone hating me.

He ran his finger around the trigger slowly before he smirked at me.

"It would be such a shame if my finger slipped, wouldn't it?" He asked and I tensed. "Drop the knife Amelia." He ordered and I froze, not being able to move. "I said, drop the knife!" He shouted and I still couldn't move. "Drop the knife otherwise I will shoot you." He threatened and I still kept my grip.

"You wouldn't do it." I said, my heart was nearly beating out of my chest.

"Wouldn't I?" He asked, cocking his head to the side.

I shook my head.

"No. No you wouldn't." I said, and my eyes never left the barrel. He locked eyes with me before there was a sudden BANG.

I dropped to the floor as fast as lightning. He had pulled the trigger so it would have skimmed the top of my head if I didn't move.

"Wouldn't I?" He repeats, a murderous glint lined his eyes. "Now give me the knife." He ordered and I passed him the knife.

"Why?" I asked, my face a stone as I slowly stood up again.  He cocked his head again as he tried, and failed, to look completely innocent.

"Why what?"

"Why do you bother? Why me?" I asked him, my voice cracked unwillingly.

"You, Mil, know exactly why." He said, the gun not aiming at me any more. I sat on my bed and blinked back tears.

"You mean because of my Mum, right? Was it because she didn't pay you? Or because she had a husband and daughter at home waiting for her? Or because she didn't have the time of day? Or because she wouldn't do what you wanted her to do? Huh?" I questioned angrily. "Because I know the night she died it was because of the last reason. Now, you may not have killed her physically. You didn't pull the trigger. But you killed her mentally. You're the one that drove her into killing herself. You encouraged it because you thought that she was too cowardly to actually do it. But for once, one of your stupid, little mind games didn't work. So don't you dare think they'll work on me." I growled at him and he stormed over to me.

"I suggest you lower your voice Mil." He threatened, his hand balled into a fist.

"Go on then!" I shouted in his face. "Hit me! You know you want to you tw-"

He punched me, hard and I fell backwards from the force. I wiped my mouth to find blood. I stood up.

"Well you got what you wanted, didn't you?" I spat at him, some blood coming out as I stood up He was furious, his chest was rising up and down and his hands were clenched tight. He slapped me again and I stumbled back.

"You bitch! You are so lucky I haven't got what I need yet otherwise you would be dead right now! I would have killed you as soon as you walked into this room. Right here!" He screamed at me, he pushed me backwards and into the wall. My head bashed against it hard, making a few tears fall from my eyes at the pain. I made sure that I didn't show any signs of fear towards him, because I knew that was what he thrived on.

"Remember. I have people watching you. Your friends, your family, everyone you love is being watched. So you take one more step out of line and i'll kill them. So I suggest you watch yourself, Mil. Before it's too late." He spat at me before he walked out. He slammed my door shut and a few seconds later I heard the front door slam shut too.

"How fu*king original." I laughed slightly to myself. I slowly stood up and walked out of my room, trying not to go dizzy. I put my shoes on and put my leather jacket on, completely forgetting about my top before I walked out of the front door. I made sure to lock it before I started to walk down the street. I was having slight trouble because of the pain in my head and lower back but I could handle it. I removed my hand from my head as the stinging got worse, only to find blood.

The only thing I could do was laugh at myself.

Because if I didn't laugh, I'd just become numb. And becoming numb was worse than becoming crazy. Because at least when you're crazy you have emotions. When you're numb you can't do anything but stare into space and slowly kill your mind with bad memories and feelings.

Becoming numb was scary to me because for once in my life; I had people to lose. And I couldn't let my stupidity endanger them.

Before I knew it I was at the front door of the main person I was ignoring. The person I was keeping myself from for their good. The person I was hopelessly in love with.

I leaned on the door frame and knocked on the door, struggling not to pass out. But when it opened I was greeted with empty space.

"Can I help you?"
