Flash-Attack

"What? No whoosh-in?"

"I needed the walk."

"What happened?"

"Nothing, uh--Haylee, Iris. I don't want to talk about it actually."

"Okay."

"Have you talked to Cisco? I've been trying, but he's not answering. I'm worried about him. He had a rough night."

Barry remembered what had happened at the bar with Cisco and smiled, looking down before answering a worried Caitlin.

"Trust me. It got better."

Barry's phone rang, as he answered hearing Joe's concerning voice.

"Hey, Snart's back."

"Wait, Cold is back?"

"Yeah, he was spotted at the Santini crime family casino. If he's hitting the Santini's, we could be looking at the beginning of a mob war."

Barry hung up, turning to look at Caitlin and Wells.

"Well, this day just keeps getting better and better, doesn't it?"

Barry raced over in his suit as he took all the bodyguards from the casino out of harm, racing back inside and turning to a hiding Cold.

"How many times are we gonna go through this, Snart?"

"Until the best man wins."

Cold pointed his gun in Barry's direction, starting it up. Barry grabbed the girl that was hiding behind a table and pointed her own gun at her face.

"Drop the gun!"

Snart put his hands up, walking from behind the table and standing in front of Barry.

"We both know you're not going to do anything to her. Oh, by the way, meet my baby sister. Lisa, Flash. Flash, Lisa. Cisco has been very, very busy. Unless you want me to mail small, frozen pieces of him back to his family, I'd take your hands off her."

Barry stood still for a few seconds, holding Lisa in his arms before pushing her away, glare still on Snart.

"Let him go, Snart."

"I'll think about it."

Cold turned around and walked towards the exit, while Lisa blew a kiss at Barry, before following her brother out of the casino.

Barry returned to the casino, dressed as himself, looking around fully and remembering what Snart had told him.

"Bar. Witnesses reported seeing The Flash. They said you had Snart dead to rights, but you let him go. Why?"

"Cisco. Snart and his sister have him."

"Oh, man. Okay, get to S.T.A.R. Labs. I'll get there when I can."

"All right."

Barry started walking away when he heard someone walking behind him. Then Eddie's voice.

"Allen."

"Eddie, I--"

Eddie threw a punch at Barry, as he quickly regained his composure. Joe turned around, and quickly walked towards them, a confused but guarded look on his face.

"Woah!"

"Stay away from Iris."

"What the hell is going on here?"

"Hey, if you two have a beef, take it outside."

"You know what the worst part is, Barry? I thought you and I were friends."

Barry, back at S.T.A.R. Labs, was holding an ice pack to his cheek, Marianna, who he had not seen until the casino incident, was sitting next to him.

"So, there's Cisco getting into a car with Snart's sister. The license plate is iced over.."

Barry banged his fist on the table, throwing down the ice pack, as Marianna jumped a little in her seat. She hadn't seen Barry this angry since the Bivolo incident, and she didn't want to have to go through it again. Barry ran his hands over his face, his expression worried and frustrated as he turned to Wells.

"All right, Dr. Wells, you were right. I screwed with time, now time is screwing with me. Cold is back, he kidnapped Cisco, and Iris--"

"Stop before you cause another disruption to the timeline."

"Please, Dr. Wells. Please, I have to talk to someone."

Wells sighed, knowing there was no way out of it, before nodding at Barry, giving him permission to reveal the alternate timeline that he had experienced not too long ago.

"Go ahead."

"In the previous version of today, Captain Singh is seriously injured, Joe is in danger and Iris said she had feelings for me."

"And now, Cisco's life is on the line and Iris has no idea she confessed those feelings."

Wells nodded his head at Marianna's words, as Barry continued, the one question that had been looming in the back of his head, towards Wells.

"But she still has them, right?"

A pause, before Wells explained, Marianna growing confused and then understanding exactly what had happened the whole day.

"The unconscious mind, Barry, is a powerful thing. It sounds like, it took this apparent disaster to jar those feelings loose. And without that disaster, those feelings remain deeper down. Unacessed."

"I don't understand.."

"I thought that I was helping people by stopping Mardon."

"Yes, but this new ability of yours, Barry, is a dangerous thing. You only traveled back in time one day. What if you traveled back decades? Centuries? Imagine the havoc you could wreak."

Marianna, catching on, remembered her earliest memory with Barry, when they were only 11.

"But won't you have the opportunity?"

"To travel back in time in the near future and save my mom."

Barry finished her sentence, a frown on his face before registering what Wells was saying.

"Are..? You're saying I shouldn't?"

"I'm saying how many more people could die, if your mother lives?"

Caitlin quickly walked inside the Cortex, looking at the three of them, a frown on her face.

"Did you guys find Cisco?"

"There's nothing on the satellite thermography." Marianna said, sitting down in a chair in front of the monitor, Caitlin and Wells by her side.

"You were right, this is all my fault."

"How is this your fault?"

"Brave heart, Barry. We'll get Cisco back."

Silence overcame them just as Cisco talked. Everyone turned around, seeing a bruised Cisco standing in the middle of the Cortex, a frown on his face.

"I'm back."

"My god, are you okay? We were so worried."

"What happened?"

"How did you escape?"

"I didn't."

Marianna turned to Cisco, a frown on her face as she realized he couldn't have let him go. "Snart just let you go. Why?"

"He, um, tortured my brother. And he said he was gonna kill him if I didn't.. if I didn't tell him.."

"Tell him what?"

"Who The Flash really is."

A pause went over everyone's heads as Cisco's answer went through everyone's ears.

"I -- Honestly, man, they could've killed me. But they were gonna kill my brother. I couldn't let him do that."

"Hey.."

"I'm sorry, Barry. I'm so sorry."

"No. I put you in that position. I'm the one who's sorry."

Barry enveloped Cisco in a hug, as he sniffled and buried his head in his shoulder, since Barry was taller than Cisco. After letting go, Cisco walked to the door of the Cortex.

"Where are you going?"

"I don't deserve to be here. I won't be the one to put you in jeopardy, not again. Never again."
