"(Y/N) listen carefully, this is called a crescent moon gun. This is only for you to use in dire emergencies but you can't harm common mobians with this but you can harm vampires. Do you understand?" the sister asked.

"Yes I understand." you said.

You felt the smooth metal of the gun before picking it up and admiring the engravings on the barrel, the gun was heavier than you would have thought.

As the good vampire held you close running over the rooftops your fear had become but a distant memory, but only for a second. Looking back the way you came you saw a figure following you fangs out and eyes poisonous. It was the fox from last time. Not bothering with a warning you raised your gun and aimed at the fox your aim was a little off as you were moving so fast so the bullet only scarped her left arm, she winced in pain taking a couple of wobbly steps before resuming her same speed.

The black hedgehog looked down at you and your smoking gun with a slight expression of surprise. But you didn't waste any time.

"Tell me which ones to shoot, but I've only got eight bullets left!" you said.

He gave a nod before speeding up.

"If you see a pink hedgehog then don't shoot." he said.

'Whoa was his voice always that deep?' you asked yourself mentally. But you quickly got back on track. You gave a quick nod before looking back at the fox who was still hot on your tail. Taking aim again you shoot and this time you hit the fox in the leg. She kneeled over in pain and soon she was out of your sight as you ran away.

You wanted to ask the hedgehog where you were going but figured that you'd find out soon enough, you knew very well that he wouldn't hurt you. Keeping your guard up there didn't seem to be anyone chasing you. Why? Why had he come back? After 12 years, he must have known where you were this whole time yet he'd never attacked. So why was tonight so important?

But then your heart skipped a beat as the hedgehog jumped off the roof which made you hold on tighter, however he landed gently on the ground in an alley way between the houses. You thought he'd put you down but in actual fact he held you closer as he stood near the wall so you two wouldn't be easier to spot. He then looked at the end of the alleyway as if waiting for someone.

"Come on Rose." he mumbled quietly.

'Who is Rose?' you wondered. Just as this thought finished you were made slightly jump at the sound of someone lightly landing next to you. But you were quick to loosen your grip on the trigger as a sakura hedgehog stood there panting slightly.

"Drago and Sleuth were on the other side of town, Sonic and Tails are dealing with them." she said.

You recognised the first two names and guessed that they were the other two vampires that had been there the first time, and the other two were friends of the black hedgehog.

"Then we stick to the plan." the black hedgehog said before starting to run again.

You glanced at the pink hedgehog and she gave you a smile as sweet as sugar, it gave you reassurance which was something that you were carving for at the moment. You managed a small smile in return which seemed to please her. Once again you took the roof tops as you figure two vampires running in the streets during the middle of the night carrying some girl wouldn't be the best publicity stunt for all vampires.

Eventually you reached a large and open courtyard surrounded by classic architecture with gargoyles along with a heavy metal trap blocking the two large doors. The entire building was rather captivating to you and sort of reminded you of the old building which was the orphanage. But now you saw this was a good time to ask for answers.

"What is this place?" you asked once you had been put down.

"The hunter society." the black hedgehog said simply.

"This is the back entrance but no one should attack us when were on the grounds." the pink hedgehog said.

"Either way we should get inside." the black hedgehog said gently placing a hand on your back guiding you into the building.

The heavy trap lifted and you entered.

Sonic's pov

A musical like clang ringed in my ears as Drago hit the lamp post which I had thrown him into. He was able to sit up but just sat there bloody and bruised due to the previous blows I had given him during our fight.

"Who told you that the order was being lifted tonight?" I asked him.

"Can't a man just know something?" he asked teasing me.

"Where did you get the information?" I asked my voice more threatening.

"You know we're not as dumb as you think, we figured it ourselves. Wasn't hard." Drago said chuckling a little at his situation.

Believe it or not I could tell he was telling the truth, Scourge had known all too well about the order so it doesn't surprise me that he chose tonight to attack. He was here with the usual gang and they'd all been placed around the town to make sure that no one else would attack but we had the element of surprise.

I'd taken Drago, Tails followed Sleuth and Amy followed Fiona. Whereas Shadow had a personal score to settle with Scourge. It didn't surprise me that Scourge had risked this attack most likely not completely knowing if the order was to be lifted or not, the same blundering git he's always been.

I just left Drago there. He wasn't worth another punch besides if I were to kill him then that would only make me just as bad as Scourge and all the others. I ran to the agreed meeting point on top of one of the roofs and Tails was there waiting there already.

"Did you get Sleuth?" I asked.

"Yeah he was no problem." Tails said lightly.

"You alright?" I asked a little worried for my little bro.

"Yeah, it was good to let off a little steam." Tails said a glimpse of the old him coming to light.

"Good." I said with a small smile.

"Did Shadow get there in time?" Tails asked.

"Yeah he did, him and Amy are making there way to the hunter society now we should probably head there too." I said.

Tails gave a nod before we set off.

Your pov

It was painfully silent as you and the two hedgehogs walked down a marble corridor until you were led into a room which was filled with shelves of books and had a large oak table in the middle where a squirrel and rabbit seemed to be reading several pieces of paper along with a couple of large old looking books and scrolls.

"I'm tellin ya hun, there ain't nothin in these old manuscripts that could help us out." The rabbit said, but you now noticed that she had several limbs replaced by metal robotic ones.

"Oh Amy thank goodness you all made it back safely." The squirrel said walking up to you and 'Rose' or 'Amy'.

You looked to see that the black hedgehog was gone.

"I'm sorry this must all be very confusing to you, but we promise we're not going to hurt you." The squirrel said.

"I know your not going to hurt me and I want to thank you for your help." You said.

These guys whom you didn't even know there names, had risked their lives for you someone who was just as much a stranger as they were to you as you were to them.

Or so you thought.

"My name is Sally Acorn and this is Bunny." The squirrel said gesturing to herself and the rabbit.

"And the pink lass is Amy Rose." Bunny said.

"It's nice to meet you, I'm (Y/N) the (A/T)." You said.

"Don't freak out Hun but we already know." Bunny said.

"I'm going to go check on the guys, you two keep searching." Amy said suddenly leaving the room.

"Can I ask how do you know my name?" You asked the two of them.

"I dare say you know by now that in the vampire world you are extremely coveted." Sally began.

"Yeah I picked up on it." You said.

"Well that's how we know, ever since the death of your parents 12 years ago your name became well known in both the vampire and hunter world." Sally continued.

You felt a pang at so many people knowing of your parents death, you had to quickly push the gruesome scene out of your head.

"And do you know why I'm so coveted?" You asked.

After that night when the green hedgehog tried to take you away no other attempts we're made to kidnap you,which you were grateful for, but you had always wondered why he had tried to take you that night? You had no powers and no form of knowledge, so what could a small child had to offer?

"Actually that's some'in that's never been answered Hun." Bunny said with regret.

"If you don't know then I'm afraid we certainly don't. You seem to be a bit of a mystery to both hunters and vampires alike." Sally said.

"I see." was all you could say.

"But right now we've got the matter of the order to deal with." Sally says turning back to an old manuscript.

"Order?" You asked.

"When you were a wee lass they set a law that no one was to touch you, but they said that when ya turned 17 they wouldn't be able to cope with it." Bunny explained.

So that's why you had never been attacked after that night. A law had been placed to ensure your safety.

"Does my age have anything to do with the fact that my cross no longer harms a vampire?" You asked holding it up.

"What do ya mean Hun?" Bunny asked.

"Well when the green hedgehog attacked me he held me cross with out receiving any injuries, and he said that it wouldn't be if any use any more." You explained.

"Hmm I don't know. It might be due to your becoming if age, maybe talismans won't work for you anymore." Sally suggested.

"But don't worry! Nothin can get ya in here." Bunny said.

"Hmmmm." Sally had her hand to chin in thought.

"Found anything?" Bunny asked.

"What are you looking for?" You asked.

"A way to reverse the order. Some sort of flaw that means it can't be reversed." Sally mumbled with her hand still on her chin.

"We thought there might be somethin' in the History books to help." Bunny said.

"Well I'll give you a hand."

You went up to the table and you all began to search for something that might allow you to keep the life you once had.
