~Chapter One~

"Levi! Levi!"

I jolt upright out of the cold bed. I look around the unfamiliar pitch black room with chills running down my spine.

I get out of bed and go to the door to unlock it and escape from where ever the hell I was.

I turned the knob with no luck at getting it open.

The only light was the high pale orb in the black sky.

The voice kept calling out my name and filling the room. That voice being the only sound in the house.

It was filling my ears. Filling my head.

I drop down on my knees screaming at the voice to stop teasing me.

"No! Noo!" I yell as the nightmare falls away.

-------------------------------------------------

I wake up in my dorm room in a cold sweat and my breathing and heartbeat racing.

The clock reads three-oh-three in the morning.

I try to calm my breathing and fall back asleep but the nightmare keeps playing in my mind.

I try to play back the memories to see if I could remember anything.

The room, the voice, had I seen any of that before?

I sigh and get out of bed.

Since I couldn't go back to sleep, I try studying to take my mind off of it until I have to be up for my class.

I study for a while until shutting my eyes.

Right as I shut my eyes to get more sleep, my alarm goes off.

I turn it off, rub my eyes, and get dressed.

You're probably confused at this point, allow me to do my best to explain.

I suffer from nightmares like that regularly.

They're in depth and feel real as if it's actually happening.

I've gone to hundreds of psychology sessions and been diagnosed with Nightmare disorder, also known as dream anxiety disorder, it's a sleep disorder characterized by frequent nightmares.

Most people get it after experiencing post traumatic stress.

I haven't had anything too bad happen but have had something that majorly creeped me out in more then one instance.

I was a college student who had a minimum wage job, had a best friend who I'd had a crush on since childhood, a girlfriend I had broken up with because she cheated on me who was still upset about it.

Seems normal, right? Not exactly.

There was this guy I had started seeing more regularly.

I think he had gone to my university but was failing his classes and dropped out after the first semester, at least that's what I've heard.

I had never paid much attention to him, but the more I recoil my thoughts, the more I realise I was seeing him a lot in places I went everyday.

It was like he had memorized my rountine. But I didn't want to say he was stalking me since it wasn't fair because I hardly knew him.

I had gotten ready and left my dorm.

Since I lived on campus and didn't have a class till later that morning, I decided to get coffee like I usually do.

I walk in and get my normal Mocha Macchiato and a green tea.

I pay and start to leave with my drinks.

As I'm leaving, I get the feeling I'm being watched.

I turn my head to see a guy in the corner of the room stirring his drink, not saying anything, just staring in my direction.

I feel uneasy and look away and back to see the guy still staring at me.

I saw he still was so I hurriedly rush out of the shop.

I walk back to campus where I see my best friend since childhood and secret crush, Shay Oliver.

"Hey, Shay!" I greet. Shay flashes his signature smile that melts my heart evreytime.

"Hey, Lev!" Shay greets back as I hand him the tea.

He starts to thank me as I hear a too familiar voice break out in the quad.

"Levi!" My spoiled ex-girlfriend shrills.

Key word, "EX", but apparently she hadn't taken the hint yet.

"What do u want, Iris?" I ask annoyed.

"Oh please, Levi. Don't act like you don't still love me!" Iris' high pitch voice rang like sirens in my ears.

"Iris, I-" I was about to tell her off when Shay covers my mouth and cuts me off.

Shay removes his hand and my face tints pink.

"Iris, I think what my boy Levi is trying to say is that you shouldn't stand by a heater." Shay says narrowing his eyes.

"Ha, why?"

By then we had a small crowd gathered around us which made me nervous.

I tug on Shay's sleeve.

Shay noticed that but he never puts his guard down so he shoots a sly smirk to Iris.

"Because plastic melts" Shay says and everyone in the crowd laughs and were recording.

We were sure to be on all of the socials by noon.

Great.

"How dare you! Do you know who I am?!" Iris yells.

Shay rolls his eyes and grabs my arm pulling me from the crowd of people and a steaming Iris.

Once we're a safe distance away, Shay lets go of my sleeve.

"Thanks, Shay" I say and Shay flashes a grin.

"No prob, Lev"

We get to our class and find our seats, chatting until the professor got there.

The teacher starts class and we all start taking notes.

Shay and I chat during class and share notes like usual.

After class, Shay and I trade notes like usual and head back to my dorm.

After our usual classes, Shay and I head home.

We're walking and talking and suddenly I stop.

"You okay, Lev?"

"I feel like I'm being watched. And that someone's breathing down my ne-" I don't finish my sentence before a bandana is tied around my face and a scent comes into my nostrils making my vision go blurry.

"Lev!" I hear Shay shout before he falls over and my world goes black.

I wake up a few hours later in a unfamiliar place.

I try to move my hands and notice that they're chained to the wall.

"Levi!! Levi!" I hear the voice again and I scream.

I wake up panting.

"Lev? Lev, are you okay?!" Shay says as he rushed over to my spot and felt my forehead.

My breathing starts to slow as I realise it was a dream and I was asleep in my dorm room during a movie night with Shay, instead of in a creepy dungeon with a voice calling my name.

Shay hugs me and I blush bright red.

"Shay, I'm fine. It was just another nightmare." I say hugging him back praying he couldn't notice the tomato blush on my cheeks.

"I'm worried about you, Lev. You've been having a lot a nightmares lately, more then normal. Was it the same one as before?" Shay says, his eyes filled with fear and worry.

"No, it was in a dungeon where I was chained to the wall and the same voice was calling me." I explain.

"Oh. Well are you okay now?" Shay says, his gray eyes filed with concern.

"Uh y-ya." I say, still blushing.

"You sure? Your face is bright red." Shay says, tilting his head.

"Y-ya. I'm f-fine." I stutter.

"Alright, if you say so. You wanna watch another movie until you fall back asleep?" Shay asks and I nod.

Shay gets up and puts another movie in and I wipe the tears from my cheeks.

We watched the movie and soon I fell asleep and Shay soon after me.
