Chapter 8
Castiel couldn't believe everything that had happened. It was the sweetest thing and of course he forgave Dean for being late. He did have a very good reason for being late.
As they walked up to the building that Dean was taking Cas to he realized that he still was holding the roses in his hands and Dean's hands were in his pockets.
Castiel wanted to hold Dean's hand except they were full so he couldn't. Dean looked over at Cas and smiled. "Sorry do you want me to get rid of those? You don't have to keep them."
Castiel smiled and shook his head. "No I like them I just.." He looked down at them. Dean chuckled. "Hey I'm not a big flower guy either it's fine."
Cas smiled and as they were walking he saw a little girl about five. She had bouncy black curly hair and green eyes. She was running around two men. One shorter than the other with blonde hair and the other had hair like the little girl's. She was laughing and then she ran into Cas' leg.
Cas looked down at the little girl with a small smile. She looked kind of scared as she stared up at him. The blonde haired man started to walk over and he gave an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry about that."
Cas shook his head and knelt down on one knee in front of the girl. He held out the flowers and she stared at him before she took them. "For a beautiful girl." He smiled and stood back up. The blonde haired man smiled and started to lead the girl away. "Tank you!" She yelled with a smile to Cas and ran with the flowers to the man with hair like her's. "Daddy look!" She held up the flowers to him and he smiled.
Cas took Dean's hand in his and they walked into the building. Dean smiled softly to him. "That was really sweet of you Cas."
Cas shrugged. "Thank you."

Dean couldn't believe that he had found a guy who was so sweet and adorable. He opened the front door and let go of his hand as he held it open. Cas walked in and Dean followed.
Dean couldn't help smiling at Cas' reaction. His eyes were wide and he was looking around like he was a kid in a candy shop.
The resteraunt didn't look like much from the outside but on the inside every wall was filled with books and yet everyone was dressed nice and there was live easy music playing. Cas looked back at Dean smiling.
"This is amazing." He said and Dean laughed. "I saw you liked books so I thought you'd like this place." Cas nodded. "I do thank you."
Dean took Cas' hand and lead him to a table.
The two sat across from each other and looked into each other's eyes for a long time.
Castiel began to feel a bit awkward so he tried to start up a conversation. "How's Sam doing?"
"I'd rather not talk about that." Dean said and looked down at his lap.
Dammit Castiel. "No I understand."
And they were back in awkward silence. Before Dean decided to try.
"So uh how is it working at the hospital?"
Cas smiled slightly. "It's alright. I mean it's what I love to do. Help people. But sometimes I feel like I'm not helping anyone. What with all the deaths."
"I understand what you mean. That's why I became an agent in the FBI but I see more deaths than I save lives." He sighed.
"No but you catch the killers and put them behind bars so no one else is killed. You are saving lives."
Dean smiled. "Well so are you. You catch the killers of the diseases and create cures."
"I suppose." Castiel smiled and that was the start of a wonderful night. That neither of them felt awkward or wanted to go home. They both talked and laughed and held hands. And at the end of the night as Dean dropped Castiel off at his place. (Well went with him on the bus, and walked up to the door) he hugge him goodbye because he was too much of a gentleman to kiss him on only the first date.
