2 months have passed since everyone had migrated to the school to survive. Ethan has been given the medicine every day since then and has gotten better. He's back on his feet and is capable to do things to help out, though Alli refuses to let him do anything until he's 100% better.

Dakota and Summer have not left each other's side since the move. They have developed a much closer bond than they had in school and refuse to do anything without the other at their side.

Alli sits down on the bed that she set up in one of the classrooms. She takes a deep breath and puts her head in her hands.

"I can't do this anymore! I'm going to kill everyone because of my decisions," She mumbles. She sits up and wipes away the tear that had rolled down her cheek. She rubs her wrist as a sudden stinging pain arises from it. She rolls up her sleeve, revealing the horizontal scars that are causing the pain. "I need to put a bandage over these so no one notices them."

Someone knocks on Alli's door as she finishes wrapping her wrist. She quickly puts her sleeve down over the bandage. "Come in!" The door opens and Ethan enters the room. Alli looks at him in shock. "Ethan, why did you come up here? I told you, you are not supposed to come upstairs until I know you're completely better." She approaches him.

"I-I wanted to check up on you. You haven't been downstairs all day," Ethan explains. Alli examines the boy, noticing his face is drained of its color. Ethan is naturally fairly tan, but his skin at the moment is as pale as a sheet of paper.

She steps closer to him and puts the back of her hand on his forehead. She gasps and pulls her hand away quickly when she feels how hot it is.

"Ethan, what the heck?! Your forehead is on fire! Are you feeling alright?" You could tell that worry was flooding her voice. Ethan doesn't respond. He suddenly collapses into Alli. She catches him and kneels onto the floor. "Ethan?!" He doesn't move. "Caleb!! Trinton!! Guys, come here, PLEASE!!" Alli screams.

Running is heard from the hallways and Trinton, Caleb and a few others run into the room. Caleb's eyes widen when he sees Alli and Ethan.

"What happened?" He walks up to the two and takes Ethan out of Alli's arms. Alli stands up and slowly walks closer to her bed.

"He came in here to ask me if I was ok and his face was as white as a ghost. His forehead also felt like it was literally on fire. He passed out after being here for not even a minute." Alli glances over at Ethan. He looks so pale, and sick, almost as if he were... dead.

She suddenly feels a wave of dizziness and falls back onto her bed. Trinton and Caleb take Ethan back downstairs to have Raina examine him. Everyone leaves the room with them, except Jade. She walks over and sits down next to Alli. "I'm done with this. I don't want to lead anymore. It's stressing me out too much and I feel like everyone is going to end up dead under my leadership." Alli grabs her hair and pulls on it. Jade grabs both of Alli's wrists and forces them into her lap.

"Alli, stop it. You are doing an amazing job at leading. Ethan being sick is nowhere near your fault. It's more of his own stupidity from running into an alleyway," Jade reassures. Alli looks at Jade in the eyes.

"I'm going insane Jade! I haven't gotten any sleep in the past week! I've been stressing so much over protecting you guys that I can't get any shut-eye because I'm so worried! We've been attacked twice now and Ethan has been almost killed both times and just-" Jade slaps Alli across the face, interrupting her. Alli rubs her cheek. "What was that for?"

"For not believing in yourself! Alli, you need to stop worrying about us so much. Yes, I know it's your job to make sure we're all ok and safe, but you also need to take care of yourself too." Alli looks away and starts to mess with her sleeve.

"C-can I tell you something?"

"What is it?" Jade asks in curiosity.

"You have to promise to not tell a soul. This is something I want to stay between the two of us." Jade goes silent for a second.

"I promise," She says sympathetically. Alli breathes in shakily before slowly lifting her sleeve that was covering the bandage. Jade looks up at Alli. "Is this what I think this is?" She whispers. Alli nods and covers her wrist back up. A tear rolls down her cheek before she breaks down crying, something she's been keeping herself from doing for the past few months now. Jade brings her into a hug and the two stay like that for a few moments with Alli crying into Jade's shoulder.

"Alli... how would you like for me to take over until you're healthy enough to lead again?" Jade suggests. Alli looks at her with a surprised expression.

"R-really?" Jade nods. Alli hugs her tightly. "Thank you so much. You have no idea what this means to me." Jade smiles.

"Now, you need to rest and please," She pauses and lowers her voice to a whisper. "No more cutting." Alli nods. Jade gets up to head back downstairs, leaving Alli alone in her room.

She takes a deep breath of relief. She hasn't felt this stressed for what feels like forever, and is glad to finally get a break.
