Adam walked towards the cells as he wanted to check on the friend who abandoned and betrayed him, Jonah. He was stuck with some other new alternates and that human girl who still screams at him while thinking that it would make a difference. How he wanted to kill her, but Gabriel thinks that she can be broken down and converted like the other three alternates who recently joined their ranks. Oh, how he enjoyed seeing them being converted first hand yet still wished to hear their screams. If he were to be more specific, he wanted to hear Jonah's screams.

He hated him. Hated him for leaving him behind without a second thought while leaving him to his fate. He would never forgive him for that yet has to work with him again. Shaking his head, he finally arrived to see the three still reeling over the death of that spoiled rich boy whose father owned a sewage plant. Pathetic. His death shouldn't affect them that much since they would soon be doing the same thing. 

Stalking their prey.

Entering their home.

Speaking some harsh truths.

Driving them M.A.D.

Seeing the satisfying conclusion of seeing their corpses.  

Rinse and repeat. It's enjoyable to hear their pathetic cries and begging for all of this to stop, while never granting their wish. Why should they if it would only deny the only fate that has been determined since they were picked: Death. Though there were exceptions considering how Mark's old friend could possibly be alive. However, they could deal with him later since he was only a mortal...a being that could be easily manipulated by just a few words. His musing was caught off when he heard his old "friend" speak.

"Adam...What are you doing here?" Jonah said.

I just came to see if any of you were stupid enough to try and escape this cell. 

"It's pretty much impossible to escape, right...um, Adam?" Lincoln said.

As expected of the apprentice to realize something that these two morons wouldn't figure out until they lost a limb or two.

"Are you saying that we're dumber than an eleven year old boy?" Mark said with some anger behind his voice. He already had to deal with teasing from the alternate who is wearing his best friend's face and now he has to deal with this guy. 

Of course, he was captured in his backyard while the both of you were stalked and captured by alternates. He also didn't try to fight us or scream at us at any given opportunity. 

"Um...I just thought that fighting with beings with unknown abilities wouldn't be the best idea. Plus I didn't know how many are outside this area nor how to beat one of you without any clue on any weaknesses. Besides, I'm just a kid with no clue on how to fight or have the stamina or endurance to do anything." Lincoln said.

"Lincoln, you thought of all of that when you woke up?" Jonah asked.

"Yeah. I lived with eleven sisters who get into crazy situations and cause chaos daily. I have to think rationally at times to make sure that they don't do anything to make them get into more trouble. Though that doesn't mean that I don't make mistakes myself." Lincoln said. Before any of the two could say anything, Adam laughed which unnerved Lincoln greatly.

You're just full of surprises, but I also have a surprise for all of you. 

"Whatever it is, we don't want it." Mark said.

Silly Mark, it's a surprise that you just can't refuse. You'll be leaving this cell soon.

"What's the catch? You wouldn't let us leave earlier so what do you plan to make us do?" Lincoln asked.

Hm...you're just going to learn how to be alternates like myself. We'll be watching all of you too in order to make sure that none of you morons try to escape. Cause if you try...then the punishment will be very severe.

"You won't get away with...." Mark started to say before Lincoln cut him off.

"We won't." Lincoln said. Adam seemed pleased with the answer and started to walk away while Jonah and Mark looked at Lincoln with confusion. 

"Lincoln, what was that? Why did you..." Mark started to ask.

"Mark, it's obvious that trying to escape now won't go well for any of us. We are outnumbered, outmatched and we don't know what abilities each of these alternates have. We can pretend to go along with their plans to somehow get them to lower their guards, but I'm not sure what would happen if we fail or who else we need to save." Lincoln said.

 "You mean...." Jonah said.

"We won't be the only ones to be transformed into alternates which means that everyone out there is in danger of being transformed or driven M.A.D by other alternates. Though who they choose to kidnap is anyone's guess." Lincoln said while thinking of his family and friends back home. He needed to be strong and hope that they wouldn't be taken or driven M.A.D before he somehow manages to escape. Though, he is also getting prepared for the reactions of those who are still have their humanity. Shaking his head, he started to think of how to gain trust among the alternates unaware that they were already making plans to capture another person.
