Case 13
Rita and Lynn Senior stared at their visitor with terrified expressions on their faces. Why wouldn't they not be scared if Rita's father wasn't standing there with Myrtle who was trying and failing to get him to calm down.
"D..Dad." Rita began however Albert interrupted her by speaking once more.
"Rita, the only thing that I want to hear from your mouth is why you thought locking your son outside was a good idea." Albert said as Myrtle and him made their way inside. The rest of the sisters were still in the living room and knew that this wasn't going to be good.
"Well...he was bad luck and..." Rita began before Myrtle interrupted.
"Bad luck? Why in the world would you think that your own flesh and blood was bad luck?" Myrtle said before Lisa interrupted.
"They started to think that he was bad luck when Lynn lost her softball game." Lisa said. This response made Lynn grow pale since Albert's attention turned on her. She knew that he was mad...no, furious at the family minus the ones who knew what they were doing was wrong. It honestly scared her not like she would ever admit it to anyone.
"Really? He was the reason why you lost? Are you sure that it wasn't because you play the same way every single time that any normal person could study and make countermeasures against?" Albert said with a scolding tone.
"But it never happened before so I thought...." Lynn Jr. started to say before being cut off from Albert who got even more angry.
"Never happened before? Lynn, not every sports team win their games all of the time and if they lose then they just accept it and train to improve themselves. They must certainty don't blame their losses on their loved ones and kick them out in the cold." Albert said.
"Albert...." Lynn Sr. began to say before Myrtle turned her attention to him with a bewildered expression on her face.
"You can't seriously be trying to defend her actions. You could've taught her this so this entire situation wouldn't have happened in the first place, but instead you let her keep acting like this. From this situation, it's clear that you have never disciplined the girls or even if you did..it was rare that they think that they can do whatever they wanted." Myrtle said. At this, Lynn Senior looked down at the floor with a dejected look on his face...but that didn't mean that Albert wasn't through scolding him.
"I wouldn't have said that better myself. You kicked your son out for such a stupid reason and look at what happened. Someone just walked by and took him away while you slept away without a care in the world. I swear if my wife didn't pass away that she would slap you both in the face and drag you off to relearn how to be parents." Albert said.
"That isn't fair. He was badluck and..." Lori started to say before Albert turned his attention to the eldest Loud sister.
"Life isn't fair. That is a fundamental lesson that most people know from the people with actual common sense. Though considering how my daughter and her husband have been raising you...I'm not surprised that you didn't know that." Albert said.
"Listen Dad...." Rita began.
"No. I told you that I don't want to hear your excuses. I have never been more disappointed and ashamed of you than this moment. It's amazing that some of the girls managed to see how wrong this was and tried to stop you...however since you ignored everything that they said, you lost my grandson." Albert said.
"We all messed up, Pop Pop...if we tried to stop them from kicking him out more then maybe..." Luan said before Myrtle chimed in.
"Don't feel sad, sweetie. You know that you couldn't have changed these brainless fools minds no matter what you tried. However, you're making a great effort trying to find him and apologize for what happened." Myrtle said.
"Speaking of which, Lola...you also followed their words blindly, but you did see right from wrong after hearing your sister's words. I am still sorta disappointed, but I can see that you're making an effort to find him and apologize for your mistake. The same can't be said for you four who think that his disappearance is a blessing in disguise." Albert said.
"Dad, he was bad luck and...." Rita began to say before Albert turned to look at her.
"Rita, I am honestly appalled that despite what Myrtle and I am saying that you're still not seeing the bigger picture. You threw your own flesh and blood out in the cold with barely anything to keep him safe, healthy and protected. That is an example of your failure as a parent, but that action is also illegal." Albert said.
"D..Does that mean that we could go to jail?" Lynn Senior said.
"Yes. I'm sure that any normal person who saw a boy with no food, shelter or warmth in the backyard would instantly call the police. It would lead to jail time or probation while also leading to you losing custody of your own children. However, since I care so much for my grandchildren...I won't do it, yet. I will however ask for some time away from Sunset Canon Retirement Home and keep a watch over you four." Albert said.
"What? We don't need to be watched.." Lynn Junior said to her Pop Pop.
"It's clear that you do since I've heard all about what you all have done. Even the incident where you drugged my granddaughter for some stability. We will discuss that another time though since Myrtle and I have to make the arrangements. I hope that you know that I am extremely disappointed in you four and we will make sure to teach you lessons that have clearly went in one ear and out the other." Albert said.
"But Dad..." Rita said.
"Stop acting like a little child and more like a proper, grown adult. Myrtle and I will be back later and we will make sure that you four would stay in line." Albert said as Myrtle and him started to head out, but not before saying goodbye to the others. As he left, none of them noticed the face looking on the TV...well, all except a certain goth and baby who noticed the strange man staring and listening in.
Unaware that they were just staring at a future foe who won't make rescuing their brother easy or that some of their family members would start to disappear. Only question is, how many Louds would still be there when they meet with some new friends.
Hope you enjoyed the chapter...Bye 👋
