Chapter 1

Arien {pronounced: a-ree-n}

~Third Person~

Arien ran down the stairs, her long black curls bouncing around her, down to her waist. Her brown eyes sparkling, her usually pale skin flushed with excitement. She smiled, as she bounced off the last step, doing a flip.

She grabbed her purse, which had her Hogwarts robes in it. Arien didn't bother to bring her trunk. She could just use Accio, a summoning charm. Yes, Hogwarts was literally hundreds of kilometres away, but Arien was very skilled in magic.
In fact she spent years -more years than people know- soley practicing magic.

Gods Arien missed them- she pushed the thought aside. No she told herself. Don't. Not today.

Entering King's Cross station, Arien was eccentric. She lived in a small Cottage alone so Hogwarts, so filled with people, was amazing.
She couldn't wait to see her friends, but apart of her was thinking what will happen this year? in her first year -in this decade anyway- was the Philosopher's Stone. Second year, the Chamber of Secrets.

She also wondered who their DADA teacher would be. First year, Quirrell, then Lockhart.

She was so deep into her thoughts, she walked into someone. "Oh hi Jam" she exclaimed excitedly.
"Hey Arie!" Harry Potter, the Chosen One, replied, equally as excited.

Arien smiled, and together they walked into platform 9 and 3/4. Arien chuckled a bit remembering, when they first met...

~Flashback~

Arien entered a compartment, that held two people.
"Who are you?" asked the redhead rudely. "Arien," she replied. "Ron," he said. "Harry," said the other boy joining the conversation.
"Harry Potter" I gaped at Harry. "James?" I whispered.

Harry looked down. "He's my father," he replied also whispering.

Realising her mistake, Arien quickly said "Oh. Of course. I mean my... mum, yeah, my mum, only told me about 'the famous Harry Potter' last night, so yeah, and she had shown me a picture of your parents and you looked like James so..."

She rambled on, trying to cover up her mistake, make it look like she didn't know who James was, or Lily, Remus, Sirius, Peter or Severus, or anyone else from that time.
She stopped.

"I have nicknamed you Jam," Arien declared, half an hour later. Harry and Ron looked confused. "Why?" Ron asked. "Because it's the flavour of the first Bertie botts every flavour bean he's ever eaten," Arien lied.

In truth it was because James minus 'ES' equals Jam. James... One of her best friends... No. No thinking about them.
The three waited, excited about going to Hogwarts

~End of Flashback~

"What's funny?" asked Ron, coming to join them with Hermione; the four standing outside the train. "I was thinking of when we met," she told him honestly. He laughed as well.

"Erm...I've got to go to say goodbye to my mother, you guys go find a compartment," Arien shooed them away.

Once they were out of sight, Arien sank to the ground, holding her head. Hogwarts made her happy, and nervous. She tried not to think about her 'first life' as she'd come to call it, though she never died. Just... stopped aging.

"The curse," Grandma would always say. " I do not know what kind, but a curse shall fall apon the 13th generation's first 13-year-old,"
That was Arien. And she had been cursed . For perhaps two decades, she has not aged.

"That is not a curse but a blessing!" her grandfather had cried, but Arien didn't think so.
She had had to hide while her friends grew up around her.
Lily and James...

Well, she knew Lily and James wete dead, no point denying it, but she didn't know what had happened to the others.

With difficulty, Arien struggled up to stand.
Hearing the whistle blow, she ran on to the train. She started to search for her three friends.

Finally, after looking for a good 15 minutes, Arien came to their compartment.

"Hey everyone," she said, smiling and flipping her hair over her shoulder. "Are you lot trying to hide from me?"
They all laughed, and Arien was just about to sit in when she froze.

"Who's that?" she mumbled, as though afraid he would recognise her voice.
Hermione looked up. "R.J.Lupin." she replied. "How did she know that?" he asked incredulously.
R.J.Lupin, oh gods no, thought Arien I love him, but I need to find out more about this, he can't know now!

Arien backed slowly out the door.

"How is it that she knows everything?" "It's on his suitcase Ronald," Hermione sighed.

But Arien didn't hear any more.
She had turned on her heel, and taken off running.
