Mason turned his head towards Sliver and smiled as he went to him, "Sliver! Your alright." He said and hugged him.

"Y-yeah.." Sliver said and slowly hugged back, "You could of just left me.. But you didn't.. Why?"

"You were my only friend.. Friends stick together." Mason said and looked at Sliver's foot and leg, "I've used two bandages for your foot and left.. And I've used two for my paws... Only one left.." He told and sighed.

"What's important is that you helped.. We can make it home.. Together." Sliver said softly.

"Yeah.." Mason said and yawned, "I.. I need to rest... I've been up for.. I don't know.." He said and laid down.. Falling asleep.

Sliver chuckled and put the jacket over Mason, "Sleep well.." he said and laid his back against a tree, gazing at the stars, "We'll make it home.."

The next morning, Mason woke up, and when he sat up, he gazed at Sliver... Who fell asleep.

"Sliver.. Hey. Wake up!" Mason said and shook his shoulder a little.

"Ugh.. You remind me of my little boy.. I haven't seen him in years.. I don't know if he is still here." Sliver said with a soft laugh that turned into a frown.

"Don't worry.. I'm sure he is there.. Waiting for you." Mason said and stood up and stretched, the fire was dead.. So luckily there wasn't going to be a wildfire.. But he was parched.

"God... I need something to drink.." Mason said as he rubbed his throat.

"Me too.." Sliver said and did the same, "We should find a source of water." He told and stood up.

"Let's go." Mason said and put on his jacket, and helped Sliver with his walking as they searched for water.

After awhile, Sliver made Mason halt, then began to sniff, "Uh.. What are you doing?" Mason asked.

"Do you smell that? It's mist.." Sliver told Mason.

"A waterfall.." Mason said and sniffed too. And yet he did smell it, clear as day.

"I can lead the way." Mason said and began to make his way towards the misty smell.

After a bit of walking.. They couldn't believe their eyes.
