Chapter Five
"Ow! Slaggit Ratchet be easy with that wrench of yours!"
"I would be but you decided to get yourself in a wreck!" Ratchet snapped back.
"I told you, I didn't even see them coming!!" The black mech defended. Another whack. "Ow!"
"Keep your damn voice down!" Ratchet snarled. Ironhide rubbed his helm with a grumble.
"You're the one shouting at me." He mumbled. Ratchet rolled his optics. He managed to fix him well enough to transform so he get the rest of the kinks out in the morning; however, Ironhide has been anything but cooperative since he did.
"Don't correct me." He huffed and waved his wrench warningly at him. Ironhide gave him a grunt. Ratchet narrowed his optics. "Do you want me to fix you or not?"
"Yes! I look like scrap!" Ironhide snapped. Ratchet rolled his optics again. Ironhide was going to be the death of him. As stubborn as a mule as the humans say Ratchet thought to himself. He then snorted. Probably worse than that. Ratchet raised his wrench and banged out another dent.
"Ow!"
"Oh take it like a mech!"
...
Michael whimpered from the stretcher. One of the strangers was still there but he had his attention toward the ceiling. Michael shifted. He didn't think he could hold it any longer. He had to go. Bad. Michael tried getting off the stretcher and yelped as pain coursed through his right side. He whined and grabbed onto the stretcher tightly. The man not far from him turned his head. His face grew soft and he quickly came over.
"Careful, young one." The man spoke with concern. Michael looked up with a pained look.
"But...but I need to go." He whispered, embrassed. The man rose an eyebrow.
"Go? Go where?" He asked in confusion. Michael bit his lip. A habit he picked up from his older sister.
"The bathroom." He mumbled. The man hummed. Humans needs. Of course.
"I apologize but there is no bathroom here." The man said regretfully. Michael whined louder.
"But I gotta go!" He groaned. The man sighed. "I can just go outside."
"Outside? Well...I'll ask Ratchet then." The man nodded in defeat. Michael smiled some. He began walking but cried out in pain. The man quickly took hold of him and picked him up in his arms. Michael shifted in his arms. He laid his head on the man's shoulder as he sobbed at the pain. The man rubbed his back as he walked to the other side of the hanger.
"What's your name?" Michael mumbled.
"Orion but you can call me Optimus. I believe your name is Michael, correct?" Optimus asked. Michael nodded limply. Optimus smiled. He then frowned as he realized Ratchet was busy fixing Ironhide. He hummed in thought. He couldn't comm either cause he was in his holofom. Optimus then turned around. Michael blinked.
"Where are we going?"
"Outside. The other way has..." Optimus searched for something to damp the boys curiousity. Something he knew he wouldn't check out. "Poison Ivy." He finished.
"Oh. M'kay." He mumbled. Optimus pushed open the door and walked outside. Michael cringed and narrowed his eyes at the sudden bright light.
"How old are you Michael?" Optimus asked as he set Michael down. Michael winced as he was set down and looked up.
"I'm 10." He said. Optimus hummed.
Optimus then turned around and headed back to the hanger. He placed his head on the wall and covered his eyes knowing humans liked their privacy. Lennox gave the whole crew a lesson about that the first weeks after they arrived. It was very...intresting to say the least. The Autobots still found it odd. Well...considering they didn't do such needs. They didn't have to to survive like humans did.
"I'll be here if you need me."Optimus said. Michael nodded even though be couldn't see it. Optimus sighed as he waited. Such a young boy to be in a crash that bad. Let alone be in a crash with the largest Autobot. The boy could barely walk without having a face covered in tears. Optimus smiled slightly. The boy reminded him of Bumblebee when he was younger in a way. There was a small fire in him. Optimus then blinked. He heard some leaves crunch but he ignored it. It was probably an animal nearby. His sensitive audios didn't need to pick up what happened next. A loud bang echoed around them and Optimus groaned mentally. Same old Ratchet. He didn't turn around to check on Michael because he didn't give the mech a signal he was done yet. Optimus sighed as he waited patiently. Never did he know that he had to wait longer than five minutes and stand there until Ratchet finally commed him that Michael found him and Ironhide. Optimus groaned.
