~Percy/Renegade's POV~

Once I got there. I immediately made a beeline for Artemis' place. I needed somewhere to hide and she was the only person I could trust, other than Billy.

Once I got there, I made sure I looked exactly like I did 4 years ago, except 4 years older. When I knocked, her mother answered. "Hello Mrs. Crock. Is Artemis home?" I ask, as if I hadn't been gone for four years. "No she isn't. May I ask, who are you?" I smile kindly.

"I'm an old friend from a few years back. I haven't seen Artemis in a while because I was kidnapped and experimented on by Cadmus." I explain. "I was kind of hoping I could stay here for a while if it's ok with you..." I say, asking a silent question.

She stared at me blankly for a moment. "Of course you can stay. Come on in." She said before rolling inside. I walked in after her, closing the door behind me, then followed her to a room down the hall. "You can stay in that bed while you are here. Artemis should be home soon with dinner." She said to me.

"Thank you so much ma'am." I said to her. She just waved it off before rolling away. I turned around back to the room. It was pretty bare except for the two beds, a desk, and a Alice in Wonderland poster with the Cheshire cat on it, by the bed I would be sleeping in.

I then looked at the old uniform in my hands. "Yortsed." I spoke. Suddenly, a flame appeared on the uniform. It spread quickly, and in less than a few seconds, all that was left were ashes.

Then I heard a door open from the other room. "Mom, I'm home!" A voice called out. "Did you bring dinner?" Mrs. Crocks shouted back. "Yep!" Came Artemis' response. "Good, put it in the kitchen. There's someone waiting for you in your room." She tells her.

Next thing I know, Artemis is right in front of me, pointing an arrow at my face. "Who are you?" She demanded to know. "Really Arty? You don't recognize an old friend?" I asked her, stepping into the light. She gasps. "Percy?"

~Artemis' POV~

"Percy?" I ask. "The one and only." He replies. I immediately drop my bow and give him a hug. "Where have you been?" I ask him. "Oh, you know. Here, there. I spent about four years locked up and experimented on so now I have even more powers than before." He replies.

I hold him at arms length and stare at him. "W-what?! Y-you were experimented on?!? Are you ok? Please tell me you're ok!" I say to him while giving him a bear hug. He sighed. "Yes Artemis, I'm ok. Now can you please let me go? I can't breathe out my butt you know..."

I chuckle and let go. "It's good to see you again Perce. How about we catch up over some food?" I ask him. "It's not fish. Is it?" He asks me. "Nope. It's Chinese. C'mon!"

I then drag him out of my bedroom. When we get to the kitchen, I sit him down at the bar. I then start grabbing him some food. "When was the last time you ate?" I ask him. "Umm, i'm not sure... I was unconscious for a little while, but I'm not sure how long." He tells me while smiling nervously and scratching his neck.

I face palm. "How could you- y'know what, never mind. Where were you when you regained consciousness?" I ask him while handing him his food. "Um- I *chew* was at the *chew* Justice League *swallow* HQ." He tells me.

"And what were you doing there?" I ask him innocently. He looks at me shocked. "Me?! Why do you think I did anything?" He asks. I laughed. "Because I know you Perce. You get into trouble so easily, it's a shock you're not in Arkham already!" I say, laughing.

He sticks his tongue out at me. "I may be a trouble maker, but I'm not insane, like Joker and Scarecrow!" This made me laugh harder for some reason. He just sat there, angrily eating his food.

"So how have you been? What's new with you?" He asks. I instantly become nervous. Then I remembered that he already knew about me and my family, so I had nothing to worry about. Yep, I told him. And in exchange, he told me that he was an Atantian.

"Well, today I saved Kid Flash." I tell him. He gives me a questioning look. "Umm, who?" He asks. "The Flash's sidekick- sorry, protege." I respond, correcting myself. He raises his eyebrow. "Does everyone have a protege nowadays?" He asks. I smile. "It sure seems like that, huh?" I respond.

All of a sudden, lightning flashed across the sky as someone shouted "SHAZAM!" Percy and I look at each other. "Billy's here." We say at the same time. We then raced to the front door. Percy managed to beat me somehow and threw the door open.

Billy was standing there with his hand raised, about to knock. "You guys heard me, didn't you?" The 10 year old asked. "Yep." We responded. Billy's eyes widened. "I KNEW IT WAS YOU PERCE!" He shouted before giving Percy a bear hug.

"Oomph." Percy said as He fell under Billy's weight, with Billy landing on him. "Ok Billy. I get that you missed me. But can you please get off me?" Percy asked. Billy then got off of him blushing. I laughed then helped Percy up.

"Where were you Percy?!" He demanded to know. Percy sighed. "I was kidnapped by Cadmus. Wait. Don't you already know this? You were at the meeting!" He says. "Oh, yeah..." Billy says. I laugh again while Percy face palms.

"How did you even know it was me?" Percy asks him. Billy shrugs. "I didn't. I just hoped it was you. Which is why I came here." He replied. Percy nodded. "Looks like that 'Wisdom of Solomen' or whatever actually comes in handy." He tells him. Billy rolls his eyes.

"Whatever..." He mumbles. This time, both Percy and I laugh. Billy rolls his eyes. "I'll see you guys tomorrow. We really need to catch up soon, but I really need to get some sleep before school tomorrow. See ya later." Billy says. "Don't die!" Percy and I call out to him as he leaves.

"I don't plan on it!" He shouts back. "They never do..." I hear Percy mumble under his breath. I look at him curiously. "What do you mean?" I ask. A tear rolls down his face. "Well, you know how I said I was kidnapped by Cadmus?" He asks. I nod. "Well, I wasn't the only one affected by them. The day they came for me... Is also the day my mom was murdered..." He whispers.

I gasp and start to cry too. "I'm so sorry I wasn't there to help." I tell him as I hug him. "It's not your fault." He whispers as he begins sobbing.

I continue to hug him as he sobs. Within minutes, his sobbing slows to sniffles and I realize he's asleep. I then carry him to my sisters bed, and tuck him in. I kiss his forehead. "Sweet dreams Percy." I whisper to him before going to my own bed to sleep, not bothering to change.
