Chapter 4

Siren POV

"Siren?" A voice said, interrupting my training.

I ignored it and continued battling the metal dummies. Ducking under a spear that impaled the bot behind me. I thrust justice all the way through the hollow metal that easily split in front of me. I pivoted to the side, feeling the blast that had barely missed me and stabbed the metal thing coming up behind me.

"Siren?" The voice of my boyfriend came again.

I continued ignoring it and kept using the dummy's heads as steps, running across the top of them. I vaguely heard footsteps retreating and relaxed. He must have given up, good because I was not in the mood to talk.

Charging at another bot with my footprint imprinted in its head, I got to my knees and slid baseball style under it. I grabbed its ankles as I passed under it, taking its feet with me. Quickly rising, I turned and stabbed silent into its shiny abdomen. It crumpled and didn't move again.

Leaning backwards, I watched as the short blade swept where my head had been seconds ago. Instead of standing back up, I continued my journey backwards and did a backflip. I landed facing the bot and realized something was off.

The opponent in front of me was not metal or shiny. It was a person who looked like someone I wasn't supposed to anger. She continued gripping her long knife while glaring at me in an offensive stance. Her mouth was in a thin line, but I understood what she was saying. Fight me.

I shrugged and dropped silent. I drew a knife at my waist and waited. She attacked first, she always does. She lunged to my left, I parried and sliced at her torso. Soon enough we were going all out. I learned that when she introduced her knee to my crotch.

Instead of dropping to the ground, I threw myself sideways, avoiding the blade that would've given me a ridiculous haircut. Spinning on he ground, I knocked her feet out from under her. We ended up wrestling on the ground.

At one point I had her pinned beneath me. Another, she had me in a headlock. It kept going until, I was so tired that I just rolled off her and lay on my back breathing heavily. I weak punch to my arm told me she was just as tired.

"Siren," she said after a couple seconds,"What's wrong?"

I shrugged and looked away from her obsidian eyes. I could feel her glare burning into me.

"Don't give me that crap, tell me what's wrong." She ordered. "I'm not Snake, so you can't just shrug me off."

I rolled me eyes and turned towards her, getting comfortable,"It's what happened at CHOD."

Her expression didn't change, but understanding shone in her eyes.

"That girl, End's commander." I frowned sadly,"I knew her. She was the closest thing to a best friend when I was Apóvli̱tos."

My general grabbed my hand and squeezed it, staying silent, but keeping her presence comfortable.

"She's the one that organized my torture and took my chosen planet." I channeled sadly, searching Star's eyes for reassurance,"All because I left to save others. She hated, no, loathed me because of that."

"It's not your fault, Siren." She said quietly, about to continue, but I cut her off.

"But I don't understand, Star." I cried,"How could helping others destroy someone else so much! She killed her friends, killed her family, and destroyed her home, because of me."

"Siren, listen to me and listen now," Star growled,"What she did, was all because she chose it. People deal with heartbreak differently and she obviously chose to take love away from you instead of find a new love for herself."

"She hated me enough that she destroyed all she knew because I had been there." I pointed out miserably,"I basically killed Twizne."

I don't know how, but Star managed to slap me. Because one side of my face was pressed into the ground, her hand didn't go anywhere after the slap, making it worse.

"Don't you dare say that again, Jackson." Star spat furious,"You've saved every planet at least once for the price of one. Everything you've done has been for the good of others, so the lost lives are on her shoulders, not yours."

Not my point, but I'll probably hear something like this later from Snake, so I decided to cut this short. I nodded gratefully, because in some way the talk did help. I stood up, holding my hand out to her, she took it and swung herself up.

We dusted each other off and started walking to the cafeteria. It was about lunch time. We walked in silence, it wasn't awkward though, more relaxing. We passed a few people, some people I nodded respectfully to, others I sort of ignored.

Those people sneered at me, but I ignored them because I didn't need to waste my time. Past lovers of Snake, but they didn't feel bold enough to stand up to their commander. Instead they settled for side glances, of course they thought I couldn't see them, but there's many ways to see.

I could feel it through the water. I could hear them move through my ears, I smelt how much air they let out when I passed. I felt the envy and anger of their emotions. I ignored them all, but one aggressive ex of Snake's rudely ran into me, trying to knock me on my butt.

I tensed as I felt him come near, so when he ran into me, I used some water to forcefully push him away from me. Only a few steps back, making a fool out of himself. This one had a temper and confidence the others didn't, so he preferred to face up.

Of course I never took the bait, but sometimes his drinking water acted weird. As did his fires, one time his campfire decided it was hungry and tried to eat his pants. Conveniently, I was the only one with water so he ended up drenched instead of a crisp. I'd be happy if I were him, but he still blamed me.

There was no evidence, but people still grinned at me when he passed. I shrugged him off as he puppy glared, walking around him. I heard him turn and felt his eyes trying to burn me to a crisp. Hopefully I'll have some water.

"You think you're so high and mighty because you're the Commander, don't you?" Snake's ex sneered,"You think Snake will love you, but he won't because he's mine."

"I don't think any of that, Edgar." I channeled nonchalantly,"I just know that Snake is my boyfriend and I like him a lot. And hopefully he likes me just as much."

Star glanced at me, but continued to the cafeteria when I gestured her to move on. I turned back towards the ex, this would only take a minute, I had no doubts about Snake. After seeing me at my worst and my best he still held feelings for me, so there was nothing to be scared of.

"That's what all his ex's said, and you know what?" Edgar growled.

I decided to play his game, no harm,"What?"

I shrugged,"They're his ex's now?"

He huffed angrily,"Yes, but he always came back to me after."

I raised an eyebrow,"Really?"

"Yeah," Edgar said smugly, crossing his arms,"And he'll come back to me right after he's done screwing you."

Hmm, so Snake was the player that parents feared, interesting,"Well I assure you, that won't be for awhile. I don't plan on being one of the notches on his bedpost."

"I'm not a notch." Edgar snarled, turning a bit red.

I cocked my head confused, was he not an intimate partner of Snake's?

"When we screw, we mean it." Edgar continued, turning even more red as a few people came to witness our conversation.

I let out a small smile, "Sure, but what I meant was—"

Edgar stopped listening after my first word. He turned and stormed into the cafeteria as watchful eyes followed him. I held in a chuckle, he was just too funny.

I entered the cafeteria, I frowned. This was all dinner foods, had I missed a meal? Shaking it off, I got in line and retrieved my wanted foods. I waved off the kind people who suggested I skip ahead of them because I work so hard as their leader, but I'm sure they work just as hard.

"Harmony?" I asked, sitting at the table where my team and I usually sit.

"Yes?" She replied, stabbing another piece of her weird elvish food.

"What time is it?"

"Just after seven," She replied after swallowing,"You missed lunch."

"And breakfast." Crest helpfully input.

"Yeah, where were you all day?" Dawn questioned, drinking some Celestian soda that was surprisingly bitter.

"Training." Star answered for me, sitting down next to me.

"All day?" Ebony asked, looking at me through narrow eyes.

"Yeah, even I couldn't drag him away from the training room." Snake kissed me on the cheek and sat down next to me.

"Why?" Crest asked curiously, while the girls wrinkled their noses.

"Had a lot on my mind." I shrugged, finally being able to answer for myself.

"Yeah I figured that out when you burned a hole in my shirt." Snake grumbled, presenting the hole as evidence.

"It was early in the morning," I protested as the captains grinned at me knowingly,"You all know I don't like mornings."

Star raised an eyebrow at me,"Then why were you up at five?"

I smiled sheepishly, she got me there. Maybe I should rethink what I say before I channel it.

"Well, no wonder I'm so hungry." I channeled, digging into my food to avoid any more playful jabs.

"Umm...Commander?" A young woman's voice asked timidly.

I was halfway through my meal when I turned and was met with someone in Ebony's part of the army based on the pendant hanging around her neck.

"Yes, Violet?" I answered kindly, wiping any food off my mouth with a napkin.

"Lord Chaos requests you in his office." She said looking down respectfully.

I lifted her chin so her eyes met mine,"Always look who you're speaking to in the eyes to show confidence in yourself. Unless it's someone like medusa, of course."

Luckily she laughed at the end for my poor excuse of a joke, but nodded in compliance. I pushed my plate away from me and stood up, eliciting complaints for my departure. I simply shook my head amused and started towards Chaos' office. Sad that I was leaving my half eaten plate of food. I looked pointedly at Snake and my plate, he better save that for me.

Quickly making my way to the office, I made sure I had all my weapons and was in my usual attire in case I was given a mission. I didn't accustom myself with Lord Chaos and Lady Order's standard uniform because my patron's suited me just fine and I let them know that. They didn't seem to mind, but provided me with multiple copies so I wouldn't have to reuse the one.

It was a very nice gesture, and I appreciated it a lot. I had come under the command of people whom I respect dearly. That's why I knock, instead of barging in like a maniac. I arrived at milord and lady's office, knocking precisely three times.

"Come in, Siren." Lady Order granted.

I entered quietly, closing the door behind me. I bowed, out of respect not duty, gaining sighs from them.

"Get up, Siren." Lord a Chaos groaned,"How many times have we told you not to bow?"

I grinned slightly, rising from my bow,"More than I've been threatened, but I don't do it out of obligation."

"So like, as many times as Zeus has thrown a tantrum over stupid things," Lord Chaos joked with me.

"Chaos," Lady Order playfully chided.

"Aside from that, you summoned me?" I claimed mysteriously.

Lady Order rolled her eyes playfully, before gaining this serious aura that surprised me,"We've been thinking, after all your hardships and achievements in your missions, you deserve something."

I waved my hand dismissing the idea immediately,"I have everything I need at the moment, you need not waste anything on me."

"Let us propose the thought before you turn it down, Siren," Lord Chaos frowned,"I think you'd actually like it."

I narrowed my eyes, knowing them it was probably some crazy thing that I'd have to say yes to in order not to hurt Lady Order's feelings.

"Well, we've been think," Lady Order began,"What if you—"

She was suddenly cut off as a tremor shook the building. I froze, maybe someone dropped something, several shakes changed my thoughts. Especially when the alarm went off.

Immediately I vanished from the room, reappearing at the front of the castle. The city was on fire and citizens were running ramped through the streets. Quickly I summoned water through the air and doused the raging fires.

I called the Orbitals for some crowd control and searched for the source of the insanity. My eyes roamed the walls, but I didn't find anything. The castle of chaos was fine, just a little banged up.

A new presence to my left caught me off guard. It wasn't someone friendly and they weren't there before. Letting my instincts guide me, I ducked to the right. A metal throwing star whipped past my face and embedded itself in someone behind me.

I recognized the pained gasp and turned in horror. It was Snake, the star was dug deep into his left shoulder. I heard the wind being sliced as another star was thrown. I whipped out silent and neatly deflected the object without turning.

I put my palms down, facing the opposer and let loose a torrent of fire, distracting them for a minute while I checked on my boyfriend. He grinned at me as I pulled the metal out. Blood spewed from the wound, I wrinkled my nose in disgust making him chuckle.

He's had worse before, but this will still be a pain. I brought my right hand up and cleaned the wound with a ball of water. Then I lit my hand aflame burning the wound closed, we could deal with it later.

With a silent growl, I turned back towards the opposer. I was met with a sneer from Ariel. I stopped short for a moment, frowning unhappy. I didn't want to do this, I don't like fighting her. Last time I did, I dropped from shock and was pretty much useless.

This time though, things were different as I set a mask into place. She hurt Snake. Unexpectedly I charged at her, catching her by surprise and grabbed her throat. I lifted her off the ground, and slammed her into the ground. Her head hit the concrete hard enough to knock her out just like that.

I turned my eyes on Snake, gesturing for him to lock her up. He nodded in agreement, so I flame traveled to where I heard the loudest scream. When I reappeared, I was surprisingly met with only two people.

End and Lady Order, I had no idea where Lord Chaos was, but I'm guessing he wasn't happy she was alone. The other unusual thing was the locking of lips between the two. I tilted my head sideways, maybe if my view changes so will the situation. It didn't.

That's when I noticed Lady Orders frantic movements and her hands trying to push him off her. Unmeasurable anger coursed through me as I realized what was happening. I surged forward, not using anything but my body to knock End off her.

I hit him shoulder first, we both hit the ground. I threw several hard as hell punches, damaging his already ugly face. Before I could get in any more, a blast of energy hit me in the chest. I flew backwards hitting a random wall.

Strangely enough, the wall formed restraints. I could hear Lady Order's scream as the wall started folding in on my limbs. I struggled to release myself. My lady came running to my weird wall, punching it with much more force than I anticipated.

It started cracking, but before she could crumble it, arms wrapped around her waist. My eyes widened in horror as my Lady was dragged from me. My eyes caught fire as I heard his ill intentions towards her with my lady Hera's power.

The ground started to shake ferociously. My whole body glowed green. The sky grew even darker as the winds howled. Lightning hit the ground randomly. Ice started crawling up the walls around me and the air grew cold. End had stopped dragging Lady Order away and stood frozen in shock.

I screamed. The wall holding me collapsed into dust. I shook in fury, but eventually my outside facaded into stone. I stormed over to the two, eerily calm. Slowly I raised my hands and clapped them over End's, forcing them off her body.

Once End no longer restrained my Lady, she made her way behind me. All the while I hadn't let go of End's limbs, crushing them in my grip. The wind sliced at him, forming cuts. Frost webbed over his skin. I lit where I held him on fire, relishing in his scream of pain.

Then I let go, but before he could back away. I grabbed him by the throat and slammed him into the nearest wall breaking through it. I stepped into it and turned, slamming him into the same wall, breaking through again. This I did again and again until there wasn't any wall left.

Then I pounded him into the ground, creating a hole specifically shaped to line End's body. I glared into his eyes, letting him see my pain, my agony, my fears. All the horrors that haunt me, before hissing like an agitated cat. No idea where that came from, must be my animalistic side.

"Don't—Don't ever," I gasped, channeling as loud and dangerous as I could,"Touch her again. Understand?"

End glared at me weakly, before smiling sadistically,"I'll touch you instead."

He vanished beneath me, and I fell into his body shaped hole. I lay there for a minute regaining my sanity and breath. I realized how tired and angry at myself I was. I let out a pained cry from my lips and punched the ground again. For some reason, a couple tears fell, but I hope that the people watching me connected it with the cracking of the bones in my fist.

I groaned weakly and turned to face my Lady. She looked at me with tears in her eyes and I could sense her anxiousness. I walked over to her, ignoring the spectators and wrapped my arms around her body, shielding her. I vapor traveled into Chaos' office, calling the others as I did so.

Soon enough, Lord Chaos transported himself to the room and quickly pulled Lady Order into his embrace. I stood to the side with my head bowed. I linked my mind with the rest of the Orbitals.

"Updates." I ordered

"Captain's Harmony and Ebony, on duty for west side of citizen control." Harmony responded immediately.

"Captain's Crest and Dawn, covering the east." Crest replied right after Harmony.

"General Star is repairing damaged sites." Star informed me.

"General Snake is locking up End's commander." My boyfriend remarked smugly.

"After you all finish, eat, sleep, then meet me tomorrow in my room two hours before noon." I commanded.

"Yes, Commander." They all agreed.

I unlinked my mind from the others. They'll follow my orders, but I knew Snake would somehow end up in my room. I'll just lock him out until I've shaken off this event. I looked up in time to see my Lord and Lady gazing at me worriedly.

"My bad, milord and lady," I apologized, bowing,"I was being informed by the Orbitals and we have planned a meeting tomorrow before noon."

"Get up, Siren," Lord Chaos growled.

I quickly did as commanded, surprised by the tone in his voice. I tensed up, expecting something harsh, like a slap or something for some reason. Instead I was pulled into a tight hug. I gasped, which was a mistake because the creator decided to not grant me oxygen. Oh so he was suffocating me.

"Oh Chaos," Lady Order reprimanded,"You'll kill him! Let go."

Instantly the arms around me disappeared, I grabbed the wall to steady myself. Waiting until the world got back into focus. My Lord stared at me like a child getting a puppy, a priceless gift. He was starting to scare me, I probably looked like a corner animal.

"My Lord," I started, but was quickly cut off by another quick hug.

This was really starting to annoy me. I backed away from him warily, watching him. I glanced at my Lady, but she just stood there amused.

"Siren, thank you." Lord Chaos said graciously,"End came here to take Order away from me. He distracted me, and if you hadn't saved her..."

I frowned upset as I recalled the motives,"There is no need for thanks, I will always protect miLord and Lady over myself."

"Hush, Siren." Lady Order retorted,"Enough with this Lord and Lady. Actually this brings me back to what we were discussing before the intrusion."

Oh not this again. I thought we were done with this, but I held my tongue and waited for her to go on.

"Yes," Lord Chaos agreed whole heartedly,"Especially after the latest disaster."

"Siren," Lady Order said, directly addressing me,"Would you like to have a father and mother again?"

I froze, so they wanted me as their child? I did not want that, but I slowly nodded anyways. I think that was the right answer for now because I felt the change in the atmosphere as the two exploded in joy. I could fix this later, hopefully without actually having to talk to them...

"Now don't call us Lord and Lady, Siren." Lord Chaos ordered,"Its father and mother, or dad and mom, or something along those lines. Got that, son?"

I nodded, still uncomfortable with the title and situation. I did not feel about them that way, but hated to disappoint them. Later, I told myself, change it later. The two approached me on either side, squeezing me into a tight hug making me a feel awkward with all the contact.

"We'll introduce you tomorrow!" Order chirped excitedly.

"You're the Prince of the Universe now, son." Chaos declared happily.

"And no one will ever touch you again." Order said solemnly.

Then, for the first time in awhile, I smiled a genuine smile,"Thank you."

Tell me what you think...
