Chapter 8
Star POV
We all stood in the room containing our two male leaders, who by the way were both unconscious. It went from one stupid boy to two stupid boys. Well, never mind, they were both stupid to begin with, maybe not Siren, but Snake totally.
Ok, in all reality, they weren't stupid, but their actions were definitely stupid. Snake doing his playboy thing, then Siren deciding that now was the time to recreate a planet. Pfft, this was why women had to do everything themselves.
Boys just messed everything up. We have no idea what Siren even did to Snake to make him like this. Snake just lay in his bed, breathing steadily, while the rest of his body lay limp.
Siren on the other hand was barely breathing, his skin ashen, and way worse than before he did his thing with Snake. For once, all of us were gathered together waiting for the pair to wake up.
For hours we just sat, talking quietly among ourselves. Around six hours later, there was movement from one of the beds. Instantly, everyone in the room had their attention on the boy.
"Wh-what happened?" Snake groaned.
Lord Chaos and Lady Order stood by the bed and looked down at the their general. We all joined them, standing next to the deities in silence.
"We don't know, but when Siren woke, he did something to you to make you fall into your unconscious state." Lord Chaos informed Snake.
"What do you remember?" Lady Order questioned gently.
It was silent for a couple minutes as Snake struggled to remember. I think a frown was permanently etched onto my face whenever I looked at Snake now. I still couldn't comprehend what Snake did to Siren.
"The last thing I remember... was waiting for Siren to wake up. When he did, he grabbed my temples and I felt like something was being pulled out of me."
Pulled? I glanced at milord and Lady confused, but they seemed just as lost as I was. What did Siren do? Whatever he did, he better survive the after effects.
"Then he said that we have to go back to Earth."
What? Why? There are plenty of other planets. Lord Chaos and Lady Order shared a worried look. Clearly they were having a silent conversation, but it must've been worse than we all realized because a dark look overcame Lord Chaos face.
"Do you remember anything else, brother?" I asked Snake.
He shook his head,"Why did Siren recreate Twizne?"
I furrowed my eyebrows,"Because of your actions concerning your relationship... do you truly not remember?"
"What relationship?" Snake asked confusedly.
My jaw threatened to drop, but I was too proper to allow any such an inappropriate action occur. If I didn't see the genuine curiosity in his eyes, I would've run him through with my knives. My captains fell into a hushed conversation at Snake's statement, disbelief on their faces.
"Do you not remember your relationship with Siren?" Harmony whispered softly, not daring to say it loud enough to wake Siren.
Snake shook his head once more,"As far as I know, we were never in a relationship. I remember mentioning it to Siren a couple years ago, but he refused for your sake."
I held my tongue, sending a warning look to the rest of the Orbitals. If Siren went through the trouble of erasing Snake's memories of their relationship, I was not going to interfere.
When I turned my attention away from Snake, I saw Lord Chaos and Lady Order at Siren's bedside. Snake sat up, much to our protest, but the grim looks on our leaders faces wiped any thoughts on Snake's health away.
"It seems that Siren had a visit from an Omatel." Lord Chaos announced.
I grew worried, they were very wise beings and if one dared to contact the Commander then something bad was happening. Lord Chaos lips were in a thin line and Lady Order's face expressed one of concern for the unknown.
"My brother is going after my children on Earth." Lord Chaos explained darkly,"We are sending you and Siren, as soon as he's well, to the planet to protect them."
"You are to find them and explain the dire situation." Lady Order commanded,"Once they gather power, we are to prepare for the coming war."
***Line Break***
"Are you all ready?"
"Yes, General." My team responded.
We were gathered in a circle in the signal room. We were all in the usual attire and armed to the neck in our comfortable weapons. It was three hours after our our mission was given to us and we were ready to leave.
We had to Orbit to Earth and find the children of Lord Chaos. We decided as a whole to contact the most easy going primordial, Eros. We located his last interaction with people in California and we're going to find him through those people. We would appear to him and explain our mission from his father.
I commanded the team to join hands. As soon as we connected, I orbited us to
Earth. Instantly, we were thrust into a battle, looking around I recognized the place: Camp Jupiter. We were in the Roman camp.
Shouting and screams drew me back to the present. Fires were raging, people were running around with weapons, and many people were in combat. Quickly I ordered the team in different directions to aid the Romans.
I don't know how long they've been fighting, but it must've only been a few short moments because waves of enemies kept appearing. The Romans glanced at us confused, but once they saw us helping them, they didn't care.
The enemies were dressed in gray, meaning that they belonged to End. This was confirmed when I spotted the deity fighting against the praetors in a one on two battle by the water.
Quickly, I loaded several arrows and shot them with deadly accuracy at the deity. It drew his attention away from his fight and the woman was able to land a hit. The male with her quickly followed and struck the brother of Lord Chaos as well. The man in gray scowled at me, waving his hand.
I raised a wall of power in front of me to stop any incoming attacks, but none came. Instead several warriors charged at me. Without a moment to lose, I shot over a dozen arrows, taking down more than seven warriors at once.
I threw down my bow and pulled my hunting knives. Jumping into battle, I slashed at ones throat, killing him. I ducked under a spear as it was stabbed where my head previously was.
I whirled around and gutted another warrior. I went into a zone of concentration, murdering anything that moved. When someone landed behind me, I wasted no time in using my knife to impale it.
The clang of a sword stopped me from reaching my destination. Widening my eyes, I looked up. End grinned wickedly at me, twirling his sword until my knife fell from my hand. Without a moment to lose, I made a calculated slash to End's side.
He deflected my attack and countered with one of his own. This went on for a couple minutes. I was losing the battle quickly and I knew he could tell. He had this unnerving grin on his face as he disarmed me of my blades.
I summoned my bow, but I knew I wouldn't have enough time to draw an arrow and shoot it, especially with him this close. End raised his sword and light blinded me as he swung downwards. I closed my eyes, waiting for the inevitable pain of death.
When nothing came, I opened my eyes. My mouth dropped open in disbelief, there stood Siren with his sword, The Silent, stopping the incoming death sentence. He was dressed in the same clothes as he always was, and armed in the weapons that usually accompanied his presence.
His skin was still pale, and I could see the shake in his arms as they struggled against the strength of End. Siren's face was blank, and he stood tall. I sensed no emotion from him.
A malicious smile made its way to End's lips when he realized who was blocking him from killing me. The evil that radiated from End's eyes scared me to the core, even Siren shivered from the look.
The battle around us froze as the Commander appeared stood toe to toe with End. We all watched as the swords fell apart and then connected once more. A new battle started, one between the two most powerful people to ever live.
Friends and enemies alike gathered to watch the deadly fight. None dared to breath to loudly as no words were exchanged and the only sound was the clash of metal on metal. No powers were used, but it was obvious that at the moment, Siren was losing energy.
Our Commander stumbled as he deflected an attack from End. The sharklike grin on End's face mirrored the ones of his warriors. Quickly, faster than I could follow, End kicked Siren's feet out from underneath him and stabbed his sword into Siren's shoulder.
A gasp of pain from Siren was the only sound from his mouth. I surged forward to aid my Commander in his battle, when the force of an invisible wall stopped me. When I looked to my sides, I found that the rest of my team met the same problems.
The sound of Siren's scream alerted me to the problem at hand. When I looked back at the battle, I found End leaning over Siren, licking the bloody bite mark on Siren's neck. Disgust crept through my body, and I pounded more on the invisible wall.
I could only watch as End attacked Siren's lips. Weakly, Siren pushed End away from him with his uninjured arm. When End pulled away, teeth marks around Siren's lips were imprinted on his skin.
Suddenly End bellowed out a shout of anger and pain. I let out a laugh of disbelief when I saw The Silent sticking out of the back of End. Blood fell from the wound, and a vicious expression worked its way across his face.
Luckily, after a few seconds End disappeared to tend to his wounds. His warriors joined him in his retreat. Once End was gone, so was the invisible wall. Siren's head fell back against the ground floor in exhaustion.
Tiredly, he stood, albeit with my help and Snake's. When we stood and faced the Roman's, a woman and man approached us, I could see the glow of partial immortality surrounding them. They both looked exhausted and wounded to a small degree.
"I am partial-immortal, Praetor Reyna Avila Ramírez-Arellano, daughter of Bellona," the woman introduced,"This is my partial-immortal co-Praetor, Praetor Frank Zhang, son of Mars."
"Who might you be?" The man asked us protectively.
I stepped forward, raising my head high,"I am General Star, of Lord Chaos and Lady Order's army, and this is my Co-General, General Snake."
Snake nodded as he was introduced. My captains stepped forward, Harmony first, then the boys after her.
"I am Captain Harmony of the first quadrant of Lord Chaos and Lady Order's army."
"I am Captain Ebony of the second quadrant of Lord Chaos and Lady Order's army."
"I am Captain Crest of the third quadrant of Lord Chaos and Lady Order's army."
"I am Captain Dawn of the fourth quadrant of Lord Chaos and Lady Order's army."
Now everyone's attention turned to our Commander who stood to the side. He gripped his injured shoulder, trying to stop the blood from falling to the ground. He failed as it dropped through his fingers.
Siren held his sword in the hand that wasn't covering the wound. He used the blade as a cane, leaning on it heavily. The teeth marks on his skin looked bigger than they really were as the bled.
When everyone turned their attention to him, he had no expression on his face and merely stood there. Fire suddenly appeared next to him, scaring the Romans who backed away and held their weapons threatening at him.
The fire soon formed letters that arranged themselves into words. The weapons were lowered as the Romans read the fire. Murmurs erupted in the crowd as they finished reading.
"I am Commander Siren, The Silent..."
Tell me what you think...
