~Lindsey POV~

I was on my morning run on the second day of school. The usual path. The usual time. However, it felt different than usual. I couldn't get my mind off her. Nicky. The way she wasn't affraid to approach me. The forgiveness she gave even after I snatched the key right out of her hand. I ran up the hill and to my bench and watched the sun rise. Most of all though, the smile she gave as she left. How her smile and face were illuminated by the sun. I looked at my phone for the time. 5:17. I should get going.

On my way back home I thought about how I actually anticipated seeing her face. I dont know where she usually hangs out so I'll just have to be lucky in finding her. I ran up my front steps and unlocked the door. As I walked inside I decided that I had the time to make myself some good breakfast. I went into my bathroom and started up the shower. When I was done, I wiped the steam off the mirror and watched myself brush my teeth. I smiled at myself. That's out of character for me. 

I flicked the lightswitch as I walked out of the bathroom and sat down naked in front of my vanity. Just for a change, I decided that I should try some mascara. It was a different look for me, but it wasn't bad. The mascara really made my eyes pop. In fact I kinda like it. Maybe Nicky will too. For today's outfit I put on a pair of black jeans and a different sweatshirt from yesterday.

Once dressed and put together I started making breakfast. I reached into the fridge and grabbed the carton of eggs and milk. From the lower cabinets I gathered a pan and a rubber spatula from the drawer. In a bowl I beat the eggs, milk and added some salt. I heated up the pan with some oil in it and put some toast in the toaster in the meantime. Once the pan was heated I made some scrambled eggs. They came out chunkier than I wanted them too, but they weren't bad.

From the fridge I grabbed grape juice and poured some out. I ate my breakfast and thought about how satisfying it is to cook a perfect meal. This is the most cooking I've done in a couple of weeks because without anyone else I don't have to worry about being healthy. I finished eating and checked the stovetop time as I put my dishes in the sink. Right on time.

I picked up my keys and slung my backpack over one shoulder as I walked to my car. I drove to school this morning feeling very lively. Maybe I even drove better. I parked in my usual spot across from the school and strut to the front door. As I entered the building I saw one of the people Nicky was walking with yesterday. This is my chance to get closer to her. I approached him and tapped him on the shoulder.

"Excuse me," he turned," you wouldn't happen to be a friend of Nicky would you?"

"Oh, hi. And yes, I'm Saffron."

"Okay hi, I'm Lindsey." His eyebrow lifted, "I was wondering if I could just have a moment of your time."

"Of course," he smiled. How do they all smile like that?

"I was just wondering if Nicky..." I leaned forward so that it would be harder for others to hear,"Um... played for the girls?"

"Ohhh. I see you, I see you," He chuckled. "You're very lucky. Cause she does."

OH MY GOD!

"Thank you, sorry for bothering you," I said as I started turning away.

"Wait one more thing!" he said before I could walk away, "It's very easy to catch her attention."

I waved as I walked away. Today was a very good day. So it's easy to catch her attention, huh. I had a bold idea. I'll see her on field day.
