Nine.
It's been a while friends.
I have the flu so I decided to spend my awake time between writing, reading, and watching Youtube lol

"Are you Taehyung?"
I nodded, giving a small bow and smile. "And I assume you are Bogum?"
He chuckled. "Bogum I am! I have a table for us inside." He put a hand on the small of my back, guiding me through the restaurant until we reached a table in the corner. I sat with my back facing the wall, not liking to have my back exposed to the rest of the venue.
I watched as he casually folded the napkin into a perfect rectangle before placing it on his lap.
"So, Taehyung... tell me something interesting about you."
I shrugged. "I have a dog, Yeontan. I-I'm learning to play the violin, although... I can't really afford the lessons at the moment so it's proving difficult."
He released a breathy laugh and nodded. "I bet. It's not easy to learn to play an instrument."
"I-I can play the saxophone... I learned when I was younger, although, I haven't been playing it too much recently so I'm a little out of practice."
"Ah, yes. That makes sense." He sighed, eyeing me up and down. "Did I tell you how ravishing you look?"
I felt my cheeks heat up slightly. "No, but... I appreciate the compliment. You also look quite nice."
The waiter came and took our orders, my face contorting slightly at Bogum's words of, "I'll have what he's having."
I always hate it when people are not original. When they don't use their brains for such a mundane task like ordering their dinner. Why did he insist on having the same, simple, and boring salad that I ordered when we're at a steakhouse? It's not my fault that I hate steakhouses due to their overpriced menus.
I cleared my throat. "Excuse me, Bogum, I'll be right back." He nodded as he took a sip of wine from his glass.
I stood up and walked to the restroom, glad that I seemed to be the only person in here. I gripped the sink and sighed loudly, glancing up at my reflection in the mirror. It's quite obvious that I had lost a little weight. My collarbones jutted out ever so slightly more than normal. I shook my head, having it hang down with my eyes closed.
"Tae? Is that you?"
Oh God. Please, not that voice. Not that angelic voice, not now.
"Um, who is asking?" Idiot. You clearly know who is asking. How could you ever forget that damn voice?
He chuckled. "Jungkook, duh."
I sighed, nodding before turning to face the person I had run away from. My eyes went wide as I saw how he had changed in only six months. His hair was longer than before, and I could spot tattoos on his hand. I swallowed harshly before clearing my throat.
"Right. Hey Jungkook."
He tilted his head slightly before taking a few steps closer to me. "You've lost weight."
I froze, not knowing how he would notice such a slight detail when my own best friend hasn't even said anything.
I nodded. "I guess I did."
"Tae?" He asked quickly after I answered.
I hummed, feeling my anxiety going through the roof.
"Why did you never call or answer any of my texts?"
There it is. That dreaded question. Oh God, what do I say?
I opened my mouth, only for the bathroom door to open and Bogum to walk in. "Oh! Taehyung, there you are! Our food arrived. You've been in here for quite some time."
I scratched the back of my neck, watching as Jungkook cringed. "Oh, okay. I'll be out in a minute. Thanks, Bogum."
He smiled and walked off, making me release the breath I didn't realize I was holding.
"Boyfriend?" Jungkook asked with a quirked up eyebrow.
I immediately shook my head. "Oh God, no. More like a blind date. Although this guy literally pulled the whole 'I'll have what he's having' bullshit."
Jungkook groaned. "Don't you hate that?"
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Wait, what are you doing here? This is a nice restaurant, so it must be a date or something, right?" I asked, trying not to slap myself for sounding upset at the thought of it being a date.
He laughed loudly. "Actually, my cousin is in town for the first time in a few years and he wanted to treat me to a nice dinner."
I let out a sharp breath with a chuckle. "Oh, thank God."
Jungkook raised an eyebrow and took a step closer. "So," he asked softly. "How's Yeontan?"
I met his eyes, and I suddenly felt like I was being sucked back in, like I had felt all those months ago. "He is, um, growing out of that puppy phase a little bit. I think it's been a solid two weeks since he stole my shoe."
Jungkook chuckled, stepping even closer to me, making me step back until I was pressed up against the sink.
"He was a good dog. Very cute, just like his owner." I sucked in a sharp breath at his words. "And I miss having him around quite a bit. Although..." He stopped walking once he was a mere inches from my face. "I think I miss his owner more." He whispered against my ear. I groaned, tilting my head back in frustration.
He laughed and stepped back, watching me with those intoxicating eyes. "It was nice seeing you again, Taehyung." He started to walk towards the door, making me shout his name before I could process what I was doing. He turned and looked at me with a mischevious glint in his eyes.
"Yes?"
I shook my head, this time taking my cue to leave. Bogum must be getting worried about what I am doing.
I opened the door and walked out, noticing that Jungkook has yet to come out by the time I sat back down at the table. Bogum had finished his salad and was munching away on my own, making me frown.
"There you are! Sorry, I was really hungry and bored."
I gave a shy smile and nodded. "Yes, sorry. I ran into someone I haven't seen in a while and we were busy... catching up." I tried to hide the blush on my cheeks by taking a sip of my water.
"Tae?" Jungkook's voice was right next to my ear, making me jump.
"What is it, Jungkook?" I asked, trying to sound confident but the shakiness in my voice only made me look flustered.
"Stand up for me."
I scoffed. "Excuse me?"
Jungkook pushed his weight onto one leg and crossed his arms over his chest. "Fine. I will give you the option. If you are thoroughly enjoying your date with this man who ordered what you had and then stole your food, then stay sitting. If you are not enjoying your date, then stand up."
I cleared my throat, seeing all of the nearby tables staring at us with excitement and anticipation in their eyes. I glanced at Bogum, who broke eye contact with me to steal a piece of lettuce off my plate. I sighed before standing up, meeting Jungkook's eyes.
Jungkook smirked. "Perfect. Now, for step two of this game: If you want to stay here and finish out the date, then push me away. If you want me to take you home now, instead of you waiting to finish this pathetic dinner, then do nothing. Understood?"
I nodded cautiously, not quite understanding but going along with it anyways.
Next thing I knew, Jungkook's lips were slammed against mine roughly, making me lean back slightly. A few gasps were heard from surrounding tables, along with a few cheers. By instinct, I wrapped my arms around his neck and deepened the kiss myself, finally feeling content for the first time in a long while.
