Following Her

Chapter 7

Thor's fire blue eyes looked around the room and found Mila and Alexis sitting on the green rug.

"Dad did you know about this?" Alexis got up from the cold rug and meeting up by Isabel's side. Mila stayed on the floor.

"Yes Alexis, I do know." The god of thunder sighed. He entered through the door passing by Isabel and Alexis.

"Might I have a word with you Isabel?" he said coldly not looking back at the door.

"Yes sir." she choked out trying to keep calm. No one has seen Thor mad like this, except Loki. Alexis followed Isabel back to the rug.

"ALONE!" Thor viciously snapped. Both of the girls except Isabel left the room, closing the door behind them. A few seconds later, there was mumbling coming from the room. Then a higher pitched voice sounded, and back to the low mumbling. Mila leaned against the wall next to the door, holding her bow in hand. Alexis pressed her ear gently against the door.

"I told you to never tell anyone!" The deep voice was very easily recognized.

"But they are my friends!" Isabel blurted out yelling at the top of her lungs. Silence rippled through the cool air.

"Please just leave me alone!" Isabel yelled with a soft tone. With a thought in her mind Alexis knew what to do after haring this conversation.

"we will talk about this later, I have a job to do." Thor's foot steps got louder as now both girls still had their ear on the door. The golden door knob wriggled and the creaking of the slowly opening door echoed down the towers' stairs. Thor showed through the opening. His eyes were more softer than in the room. Isabel was behind him closing the door.

"How is Sif, Mila?" Thor said awkwardly.

"She's good. Always training me to be the best!" Mila replied with a small smile.

"Well, see you at the training camp tomorrow morning Mila... and Alexis. Isabel will be staying in her tower next practice." He twirled his hammer and walked down the stairs shouting "Stay out of trouble!". Leaving Alexis, Mila, and Isabel upstairs.

"Well..." Alexis questioned waiting for Isabel's response as quick as possible.

"I-I..." She couldn't say anything for a few seconds. "I got to go to the library." she finally said, walking down the stairs.

Mila grabbed her bow and an illuminating red light glowed from it.

"She is lying Alexis!" Mila whispered quietly.

"What do you mean?" Alexis asked with curiosity in her expression.

"My weapon never glows red unless someone is up to no good." Mila showed her as the bright red light lit up the hall.

"We got to follow her!" Alexis quickly yelled almost tumbling down the stairs.

"I don't think its a good idea!" Mila yelled back trying to catch up with her.

"You know that Loki is never up to no good! Why wouldn't we help her see that." Alexis stopped and turned to Mila. "Because..." Mila's mouth was open, as she thought of something to say, but she soon closed it.

"Good. I'm glad we're on the same page." Both goddesses ran towards the dungeon, under the gold city.

Through the halls and pathways Mila and Alexis followed Isabel to the dungeon gateways. Isabel stood yanking on the doors but they were locked. She then stood straight and closed her eyes. Alexis and Mila watched intently as electric green and black surrounded her and she vanished.

"Great! She used her illusion to get to the other side! What are we going to do now?" Alexis cried out. Mila simply walked to the door and stared through the keyhole. Taking her bow in hand, it illuminated light blue and transformed into a big spear. She stuck it in the hole, fiddled it a little, and POP! The gates unlocked. The guards of the gates were in between switching shifts so there was no one guarding the gates at that time.

"oh." Alexis walked towards the doors and lead the way down more stone stairs. Seeing light ahead, the girls stopped and peered around the corner. There stood Isabel just outside of the cell of Loki. They seemed to be talking about something when Isabel sat down on a nearby stone bench.

"Dad, who was my mother?" She looked up at the tall, pale man. Loki looked at her for a moment and spoke.

"well, her name was Sigyn. She had beautiful white hair, and was very loving. I first met her at a gathering for the Asgardians, back when I was about 850 years old. She taught me some special tricks and we fell in love." He stopped looking back at Isabel who was listening intently. "When we got married, and had you, 50 years after Thor's daughter-"

"Alexis." Isabel interrupted.

"Yes....Alexis." He continued. "Then it went downhill from there."

Isabel tilted her head in confusion.

"You see, we were under attack by the dark elves lead by Malakeeth. He killed your mother along with your grandmother. No one had found her until it was too late. I had hidden you and her in my lair and they broke through the door. She must have hidden you well because when I came back, you crawled to me from another room."

"Oh." Isabel stared in deep thought. She was lucky to be alive much less have a father. "and where were you?" Isabel questioned.

"I was helping Thor save his pretty little girlfriend, or now wife." Loki spat.

"Ok." Isabel looked down.

"Alright, well enough story time it's time to get me out!" Loki rubbed his hands together changing the subject.

"Ok, so just stick my staff in the globe?" Isabel thought out loud her instructions.

"Yep!" Loki was starting to get happy as Isabel walked to the giroball which was the source for the dungeon walls. Alexis jumped out of her hiding place just as Isabel stuck her green staff into the mechanism.

"ISABEL NO!" she screamed throwing her hammer across the room. The prisoners watched as the mini-hammer smashed right into Isabel's side as the giroball blew to pieces. The force fields on the cell walls flickered off and silenced filled the room. An Orc stepped out of his cell and looked around. Soon he took off running sword in hand followed by all the other prisoners. All except one. Loki.

"Great! we didn't just set loose a crazy maniac, we set loose all of 9 realms' villains!" Mila said sarcastically as she ran to Alexis who was at Isabel's side. Metal to metal could be heard in the distance of fighting.

"Isabel I am so sorry!" She said as she helped Isabel stand on her feet. Her mini green and black outfit, similar to her father's, draped off the floor. Her black flats stood neatly polished on her feet as she looked back at Alexis.

Alexis thought she would get a 'it's ok' from her, but instead got an icy cold stare. Without saying anything back, she ran to Loki's side and handed him her staff. Alexis an Mila stood in a somewhat battle position holding a weapon in hand.

"Well, well, well, isn't that a surprise." Loki said walking down the steps of the now gone cell wall. "Three little girls, one of the daughter of a Great War goddess, another of a big oaf, and a left out girl who is the daughter of a powerful and cunning man." His icy eyes moved from each girl resting on Isabel as he smiled.

"Don't listen to him Isabel! you know what he will do if he-" Loki turned to Mila with sharp eyes. She was caught off guard by the blow of Loki's staff's green light absorbing into her.

"Mila!" Alexis cried. Loki's green staff flew and shot a blast of electricity at Alexis, shielding herself with her hammer from the blow.

It was really Isabel's staff that he was borrowing, be used Isabel's is green and Loki's is blue.

Alexis threw her hammer at his staff fighting of her friend and the common good. Isabel then cried

"Father stop!" but Loki continued his rage. A small smirk came across his face as he dodged the hammer.

"You lack in precision and durability." his words seared into Alexis's brain and left anger and frustration. "No wonder you are my brothers daughter." he whispered, it was almost muffled by the noise of the battle from upstairs. Suddenly Loki stopped. "I'm not going to hurt you like I did the other one." and as fast as lightning Loki zoomed up to Alexis and touched her cheek. Immediately she collapsed to the ground laying fast asleep next to Mila. Isabel gasped. She had done nothing the entire time while watching her 'friends' fail at trying to take down her only father.

"What did you do to her father?" Isabel asked as she leaned down to her wounded friends.

"They'll be fine. I put a sleeping spell on Alexis. She will wake up shortly. That gives us enough time to get out of here." He said getting some things from the cell.

"And Mila?" She questioned.

"She'll be fine too." He softly. "Now, let's go." Isabel stood up and walked away from her friends and left the dungeon. She looked back at her father who was now disguised as an asgardian guard with polished golden armor that reflected everything around it. His face was covered with a helmet that masked the clever god.

Down the halls monsters battled upon guards and some I them lied on the floor motionless. Loki payed no attention to them as Isabel swerved around pools of blood. Every hall you looked at there were bodies or fighting. It was truly madness.

Opening the doors with his telekinesis powers, Loki walked with longer strides. Isabel right behind him tried to keep up.

"Where are we going father?" Isabel asked as she looked from her feet to the back of her fathers helmet which never turned around. Simply and slightly excited he replied.

"My secret lair."
