Chapter Eight
The older Eevee fled with tears in her eyes. Her mother. She just abandoned her there. It was her fault! She couldn't fight, and now her mother is dead! She closed her eyes as trees flew past her as she ran. She wasn't even thinking about finding her family. She just ran away from the battle like some sort of pacifist coward. Or at least a pacifist who is a coward. I've never battled before. That was a whole different experience. It was so...scary.
Fae sighed as she sat down. Her chest heaved as she attempted to get air back into her lungs. Her ears flattened against her head. She didn't like to fight. That was a new experience for her.
And why was she suddenly suddenly able to run like that? One second she was trapped in the midst of battle, the next she was fleeing faster than she ever remember having the speed for.
Run away. She thought. That's what the Luxray had said before she let her feelings overwhelm her. Ability switching powers? So I have this unknown powerful ability to switch? This is so confusing. I thought I was just a normal shiny Eevee.
She laid down with her paws on her head. She tried to make sense of her situation. She shook her head frivolously. She researched abilities when she was younger, but she had no clue on any Pokémon who was born with such powers.
And I'm told this like I'm supposed to accept that I have some overpowered ability? I don't want this ability! How
do I get rid of it?! It has ruined my life! First it took my siblings, and now my mother. It needs to go.
Fae could feel her anxiety creeping up on her. Everything around her was beginning to disappear until all that was left was the darkness. In a panic, Fae stood up. Her heart was almost thrown out of her rib cage.
Where'd the forest go? She asked herself as she tried to navigate her surroundings. Fae's chest tightened. She realized she couldn't breathe. She tried to take in air, but her lungs wouldn't allow it. She felt chills go up her spine, and she started shaking intense. She couldn't see anything. Nothing was there anymore.
Fae could feel herself sweating profusely. She felt sudden burden pour on her shoulders and the fear was let out. There was nothing left. No light. Only darkness.
Fae closed her eyes. Please, Arceus, if you're out there just end my suffering! I can't live like this! My life is meaningless without my mother. I have nothing left.
Fae thought. She was beginning to feel numb. She could no longer hear anything. Everything had faded into the numbness that was despair and fear of everything around her.
All the Pokémon around her wanted to kill her! No one nice existed. I am truly—
"Fae! Fae! Snap out of it!" A voice exclaimed in a shout. She could hear a flurry of paws approaching her; the sound of sticks break could be heard. She felt a sudden paw— it was soft and firm—grab her shoulder and begin to shake on her.
That was when she realized where she was. The Luxray! She thought, still in her panic stricken phase. Her eyes were widened and her body stuff. She couldn't believe she was wallowing in sorrow. I almost let myself get sucked in by the darkness! I cannot allow that! I just ignore everything that is bad and dark, and focus on what's right in front of me.
Fae looked up at the Pokémon who was speaking to her—they were obviously a family member or Kecleon since they knew her name. A black fox-like face peered down at her with worried red eyes. His red-pink scarf flowed in the cold wind. Eon.
Fae shivered with a frown. She barely even knew her brother. She was happy to at least see one family member not dead by the blast, but she wasn't sure about the rest.
"Are you okay?" The Umbreon asked her with a serious expression. Fae sniffled. She didn't realize snot and tears were forming. She rubbed her face with a paw. She wrinkled her face in disgust at herself. She rubbed her grody paw on the ground before answering him.
"Yeah. I think I'm okay. Though, I think mother is dead." The Eevee's saddened gaze turned towards the ground. And I think I'm the blame for it. I could have stopped him, and yet I ran away. That's all I ever did in the face of darkness. I still am running away from it.
Fae's gaze turned back towards her brother who appeared motionless, in thought. His eyes then closed. "Ah, yes. It appears she is dead. Now what are you to do, sis?" Eon wondered. Silently, three other Pokémon joined them as they talked.
What was she to do now? She had nowhere else to go. If her mother was dead and she was split away from her family, then what could she do? Wallow in her pain and misery? No! She wouldn't let herself be surrounded by such darkness! The darkness is bad.
Fae continued to think this over. What could she do? She hated how the Luxray had murdered her mother right in front of her, but she wasn't sure if she could just go up and fight him. That didn't even go well fifteen minutes ago.
Fae sighed. Her face was filled with conflicting emotions. She was confused as well as sad. She could feel other emotions, but in the midst of it all she suppressed her wanting to unleash the red beast inside of her.
"We-ell," she began, her voice cracking as she spoke. "I don't really know what to do." Her Umbreon brother smiled as Fae began to feel the effects of the hail weather.
"Well, for starters, why don't we get out of this blasted hail for Arceus sake? We deserve a break for what happened today." Mauve comments as she tries to flick away the snow that was falling on her muzzle. Eon nodded with a shiver. "That's a lovely idea. It's pretty cold out here, anyways."
"There's a cave nearby when we journeyed here. Remember? We stayed the night there because our paws were sore, and we couldn't make the full journey." Fergus reminded.
Fae wasn't on that journey, but she was willing to try it. The snow was becoming fierce anyways. The snow came down in a blizzard-like fashion as the four Eeveelution and the one Fae began padding south. Fae didn't know where this cave was, so she followed at the very back.
She glanced over every now and then, afraid Luxray would be on their tail or some possible other Pokémon who was controlled by the human. None came, but Fae kept looking back anyways just in case the glow of fierce, dangerous red eyes appeared in the snow.
The snow was getting fiercer, and Fae was beginning to feel colder, though that could also be explained by the death of her mother making her heart feel hollow and empty. Not to mention her father and other siblings were nowhere to be found. She already lost a ton of brothers and sisters. She couldn't lose anymore! It would be an even worse bloodbath!
Fae could feel herself sinking in the snow with each paw step. If she didn't hurry she would be buried in the snow. Fae just couldn't keep going, however. She kept on sinking, and her friends and family had to stop for her every time. Mauve had a short temper at times, and right now her eye lid on he right eye was twitching viciously. Mauve, however seemed to be understanding.
It was hard for them already to trek in the snow.
Eon seemed to notice both Fae's struggle and Mauve's annoyance because he padded over to her and put her on his back. It was a strange thing. She was older than him, but he was the one carrying her.
It must be a blizzard, Fae decided in misery. The five continued their journey. Fae continued to feel useless as they walked onwards. I've never really experienced the snow like this, she thought. I usually just stay inside.
Eventually, the team got to the cave. The snow was even fiercer, and they were all too cold. Fae was sure they were about to freeze over like Pokemon who are in Kyreum's Blizzard attacks.
They managed to get a fire going—they used something Eon called a lighter. Mauve, Fergus, and Neri didn't know how to use it. Fae found it strange that Eon knew how to use human items, but then again he had been a human pet for who knows how many years.
They all settled down, curling up around each other for warmth. Of course, Fae couldn't sleep. Unlike her house it was colder and easily draftier. For a while Fae thought she could attempt to sleep. That was when Eon decided to have a chat with her.

Author's Note: Hey guys! Just so you know this random piece of information. This will be the last update on this phone....
Lol. Imagine someone read that as last update ever. That would a weird way and a short way to end a story. Lmao.
Anyways has anyone realized how bad of parents Fae's actually got? Like her mother is obviously overprotective as fuck as she wouldn't even let her outside for that long. I mean she knows what cold is, but she's never been in cold weather for long. At least from the point of being rescued by Ezekiel and on. There's obviously way more things probably wrong with how Izar has patented Fae, and so I am wondering; what do you think are some of the flaws in her parenting?
Also the way Ezekiel has parented isn't as good as you think. In comparison, yes he hasn't lied to Fae about her past because he knows nothing about it, but he has lied to her to keep her from having anxiety attacks and dealing with them properly. Not only that but he's really lax regarding parenting. He lets Izar do it all, and doesn't really step in when needed, so he isn't as good of a father than what you're thinking. Sure he's probably a better parent regarding how lax he is, but he's also a liar and a follower rather than a real partner. Anyways is there any other flaws you can find in this Flareon?
I am just trying to get some talking points as wattpad is boring. Lol.
Oh, and also tell me what your thoughts on all this is. I'm interested to read in the comments.
And thanks for not only reading this long Author's note, but thanks if you took the time to respond to this, or commented on the story or voted. It just means more to me than you think.
Anyways more updates coming soon! 🥰❤️
