Chapter Four
"F-Fae? Are you sure? You don't have to pressure yourself into this, dear. We can always go to the Kecleon market more often." Izar barked in desperation.
Fae frowned.
"Yes, I am sure mother." Fae replied with suspicion. "Are you sure you wouldn't rather go visit the Kecleon? It's not nearly as far as what Eon is suggesting. You could get hurt! Or killed!" Izar barked. Fae sighed, feeling exhausted hearing her own mother's words repeat themselves.
"I am positive. That's all I ever am, mother! I want to go outside. Do you think I want to stay inside this much? It's claustrophobic." She barked. Her mother glared at her. She stared back, willing to do a standoff with her own mom if it was what it took to let her go outside.
It lasted for a few minutes. Izar's glare slowly changed into a frown. Her gaze then turned away after a few minutes. She was reluctant to let Fae out. She seemed to be struggling with her own emotions, though. Tears began to form in her eyes.
Fae gaped in shock. The Jolteon rarely cried. None of them really cried. It was ridiculed in their family. Izar shook her head with shut eyes. "No. You're not thinking. You're still not old enough to explore the world. I can't lose you."
The Umbreon next to her sighed. He put a paw on his 'mother's' shoulder. "When then? When will she be old enough to explore the world? A Pokémon can only live so long. Are you willing to keep her here just for your sake?"
Izar spun around. "You know nothing, you pesky Umbreon!" The Jolteon's teeth were bared at him, a low growl rumbling in the female's throat as she shoved him away. "Leave! Now!"
She swiped at Eon who barely dodged the attack, so her paws met with air instead. She stalked closer, menacingly.
Fae had never seen her mother like this. She usually didn't act so overbearing and protective. There was something about her eyes that unsettled Fae.
The Umbreon before her looked shocked, but intense. He looked very upset. He dipped his head, turned around, and fled. The older Umbreon opened the door, and slammed it shut. After that, Fae walked over to the window and watched as he ran out of sight. She sighed desperately, closing her eyes. There goes her chance to see the world and escape this hellhole.
"Humph! Good riddiance!" Izar huffed, spinning around in a disgraceful manner, walking back towards the table.
Everyone in the house had jaws dropped at the scene they just witnessed. Ezekiel looked back at his paper, but had wide eyes the whole time. He was struggling to ignore the tantrum his wife just had. He kept unfolding the newspaper even though it was already unfolded. The kids all just gaped at their meals, whispering among themselves.
"What is wrong with mommy?" One asked. "We can't ever leave? Is she only talking about Fae, or is this to all of us?" Another wondered with fear in their black-brown eyes. "Shush. She's right there, guys!" A jittery Eevee whispered, nervously smiling at his mother; he waved at her.
"Was that really necessary?!" Neri snarled with a glare that could paralyze any Pokémon. The female Umbreon threw herself in front of the Jolteon. "You could have just accepted and allowed Eon to take Fae out on an adventure, but you just had to be selfish, didn't you?" Neri asked with a snarl, body-blocking Izar. Izar glared at her with cruelty.
"Me? You shouldn't have brought that flea-bag over here! You never should have left us in the first place, you traitor! It's all your fault that this happened!" Izar flashed back with a lowly growl. "Fae doesn't need this kind of shit in her life. She's experienced pain like you've never imagined. She shouldn't go out there!"
Fae backed up. What was going on? She never got a voice in these sorts of conversations. She glanced over her other siblings who just shrugged. They never had to deal with this. She shook her head.
No! I must be heard this time! That Umbreon didn't seem to have bad intentions. He wanted to help me see the world. Seeing the world isn't painful is it? Mom seems to think so, but is everything mom says correct? Is she being overprotective? I have so many questions.
She shook her head.
Whatever it is, I must find out why my brother decided to show up years later instead of right away. There must be a bigger reason he's here than to just bring me on an adventure, isn't it?
"No!" Fae exclaimed, closing her eyes. She must look mad now. She peeked open an eye to see her mom and sister staring with shock. She straightens herself; her fur felt ruffled. She was nervous.
"I won't allow you to control me any longer, mom. I understand you don't want me to go out on adventures and see the world, but that's what I want! You can't shield me from the darkness in the world! There's plenty of good Pokémon, not just bad Pokémon!"
Fae took a deep breath, shaking. Oh how her mother must feel. She must be angry at her outburst, but no: she wouldn't stop. She would give herself this chance.
"I-I know you're hiding me from the outside because of that man and his Luxio partner, but not everyone is greedy and evil. Not all want to take me away from you. Please, please, please don't try to stop me from achieving my goals." Fae begged. A few tears slipped out.
Her mother sighed and turned away looking perturbed. She was still fighting parts of herself.
I wish I could help her, but my aid can only go so far for her. She's suffered so much, and so have I. I fear the man with the Luxio, but this is my destiny. I must be together with my brother, or dead trying.
"Come on, Izar. Let her go. She's not the young Eevee I adopted so long ago. I mean, sure she's still an Eevee," Ezekiel began placing a paw on his wife's shoulder; Izar began to relax. "My point is she's grown up. It's about time we let her go. Plus, if you ask me we have a ton of kids. It's about time we either get a bigger house or let more kids leave. She's grown up. She can visit whenever she wants. You need her more than she needs us. She's all grown up. Let her go on as many adventures as we had before we became grumpy old farts."
Izar glared at her husband. "Excuse me?!" She demanded.
Ezekiel's eyes widened. The older Flareon whispered, "Oh shit." He then put up his paws casually in surrender, leaning back on his chair. How he didn't fall over was a mystery. "Sorry. I forgot mentioning our age is forbidden. We are totally not over sixty years old and still having children. Nope, nope, nopeity, nope!"
The Flareon's gaze then turned to a random wall for some odd reason before he commented again. "Nope! Not at all! We are still thirty to forty years!"
This confused everyone. "What?" Izar asked with a blink.
"Nothing dear. Just...let Fae go out and explore the world. We can check up on her if we need to, but I trust this Eon with my whole heart. I don't know why, he just seems trustworthy even though he's just a random Umbreon who Neri invited in." Ezekiel rambled.
His confusing speech somehow moved his wife who still seemed confused, but perhaps she wanted to move on from this weird conversation they were having. Fae didn't understand the conversation either. She just assumed it was some sort of motivation crap her father usually had for her family.
Izar nodded. "I don't know what that was all about, but you're right. We've been babying her too much. She deserves to see the world. You were so right." Izar started choking up. The Flareon rushed out of his seat to wrap his paws around his love.
He cooed softly. "I understand change is hard and that letting go is something you hate doing, but please don't be selfish. We're both loving parents. Kid's gotta see the world someday. Maybe that day is soon enough. We can allow Eon to hang around for now, and you can prepare yourself for her departure. Nothing bad will happen to her. She's capable of battle; we ensured it, remember?"
The Flareon pet his wife's head. The Jolteon sniffled as she held on to him. Her frown turned into a slight smile.
"Ahh, old timer love." Fergus sighed with a dreamy expression. Izar glared at him. "I-I mean, that's so sweet. Neri help me. You're mom is scaring me." Fergus stuttered as he tried to hold on to his girlfriend. Neri rolled her eyes and pushed him off her.
"Does this mean you'll give Fae a chance to explore?" She asked.
Izar stared at her half eyed and annoyed. She mimicked her—her daughter. "'Does this mean you'll give Fae a chance—' of course it does, you Bidoof brain!"
Fae's eyes shined. Really? Does she really mean it? She frowned. Or is she just saying that to make us feel better?

Author's Note: As you can see not everything is as it seems with Eon, Fae, or Izar. Obviously. Lol.
Anyways, I enjoyed that chapter too much. It was good before the 4th wall break, and even with that fourth wall break it was good. At least to me.
Either way, if you enjoyed this let me know because I really tried my best with this chapter. Sorry it was a little late...this is mostly to myself since I wanted this out sooner, but yeah. Thank you so much for reading!
