Chapter Fourty
Neri was the first to strike Skliros with a Covet. The Darkrai didn't have anything, but it managed to do some good damage. The Darkrai only grimaced.
"Eon!" He exclaimed. "Are you ready to die?"
The scarfed Umbreon didn't respond, instead remaining speechless as he used Dig on Skliros. Skliros cried out slight, allowing the attack to hit before using Foul Play on Eon.
Eon's paws flailed as he tried to land on all four paws. Luckily, he had his tail to help him balance. He landed on his paws and managed to stand up on the slightly dusty surface they found themselves upon.
Both Neri and Eon used Dark Pulse on Skliros while Corvus continued to use Weather Ball on the dark type legendary. Fae decided to use Quick Attack. She didn't know if using sand attack would work since he was already blind. Though, he hadn't missed any moves. Perhaps he was using his ears? Or just wildly aiming and getting lucky?
Either way, Fae figured taking him down early would help them win. She heard a loud scream from behind her which made them stop their fighting.
Lazarus was using his signature move, Behemoth Blade on a couple of unfortunate Eeveelutions. He killed a Flareon, Vaporeon, Glaceon, and an Espeon all with one attack.
Their guts splayed below them as they all bled to death on the floor. Fae could hear the anguishing screams of the village all around her. Somehow the Fennekin Elders as well as Parvaiz were still alive.
Fae turned back towards the Darkrai who had a wicked grin on his face. "I hope you're happy with this outcome, Eon. All these innocent Pokémon are dying because of you."
Eon's face didn't change. He wasn't really paying much attention to the death around them. Which Fae wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. He seemed dead to the world around them momentarily.
"Eon?" Fae questioned him. Corvus seemed confused about it as well, but Neri didn't acknowledge Eon's moment of freezing.
Eon seemed to come to the next moment. The Darkrai grumbled. "I hate repeating myself to this loser." He remarked before deciding to use Poison Jab. The attack seemed more powerful than the other attack.
It seems Skliros was aiming to kill. It was heading in Eon's direction.
Fae wanted to lift a paw and shout for him to dodge. Eon seemed to be ahead of her, though. He easily dodge the attack with such smoothness it was impossible to think he was a weirdo at all.
"Oh I missed? Well, you can't keep dodging me forever, Umbreon. I'll eventually hit you or one of your pawns." Skliros responded.
Confused Fae asked, "Pawns?"
Eon shrugged his shoulders as a response. "I don't understand him sometimes either. I just assume he's talking about you guys."
It was like Skliros wasn't even there for Eon at the current moment. He kept looking back at Lazarus as if expecting for something to happen.
Fae used Bite. It wasn't that effective, but it still made Skliros flinch. He tried so hard to fight the mechanic of the battle, but his body wouldn't allow himself to move nonetheless. How old was this guy?
Eon winked at Fae before starting to dig with his paws. The move was so cheesy, but Skliros couldn't navigate where Eon was under the ground. So he aimed for Neri before being hit with a Dazzling Gleam from an oncoming wheel-chaired menace—Also known as the obvious Fergus in the room.
The Espeon thrusted his wheelchair at the Darkrai unexpectedly. He yelped loudly as he tried to use his forepaws to stop his trajectory. No matter how hard Neri's boyfriend tried to stop himself from clumsily smashing into the Darkrai the wheelchair wouldn't stop rolling.
The Darkrai let out a screech of pain upon impact, and was ran over. He couldn't move away in time due to being winded by the wheelchair action and the Dig attack hit him.
It was a critical hit!
Skliros' health points were in the lower section of the yellow. If he was a starter, he would end up getting a boost to his grass, fire, or water moves.
The Darkrai began to pant heavily. He didn't look good. Then again, when did he ever look good?
He seemed to have some scars over his body in certain places. Fae never noticed them before now.
"You know," Skliros began, still having a smooth voice despite his weakened state. "This isn't a very fair fight. It's very unfortunate Kiumbe had fainted this earlier. You have caught me in a corner." Skliros revealed.
He then turned around. "You know, Fae. Out of everyone here you're the one with least amount of information to you. You attack me with little knowledge besides the fact that Eon says I'm bad and that I attacked your friends. Haven't you ever considered why I'm trying to kill Eon?"
Didn't he ask this before? And does Fae really care about the stupid reasoning behind such attacks?
Before he could say anything else he was hit with another Dazzling Gleam/Weather Ball combo from Corvus and Fergus. Mauve managed to run up to them right as Skliros screamed—though he prolonged his near-fainting state by holding on to one hp. That wasn't healthy.
Skliros tried to shake off the pain he was feeling. "Would you let me speak?!" He demanded angrily.
"It doesn't matter what you say, Skliros. Whatever secrets the Umbreon has won't change anything." A voice popped up as another Dazzling Gleam made him once again hold on to that one sliver of HP he happened to contain.
The gray-silver Espeon sprung over towards them and stood his ground. Sincerity stared at the Darkrai with a calm smile. "You know, you may not recognize me— because you are blind, but I recognize you. You have caused much trouble recently haven't you? Thinking you could destroy Arceus of all beings? And now here you are trying to kill the 'Mon who stopped you."
The Darkrai snapped his head up at the word Arceus. "That buffoon had no right to mess around with my business!" He roared as he used Dark Pulse.
Sincerity held on to the ground as he faced the Darkrai. "I see. Well, I think destroying Arceus is like asking to die. Either way, you must be stopped. Trying to murder heroes is something I am against after all."
And yet you're against lying to a whole nation of Eevee and their evolutions just to keep a secret that wasn't necessarily about you? Fae thought sarcastically.
Fae could see her family and Corvus roll their eyes.
The Darkrai snickered. "Ah I see. Quite noble aren't you? You all are trying to play hero, aren't you?"
"You're in no condition to talk. You're almost ready to call it quits. Your body—" Mauce began before the Darkrai interrupted her. "My body? Who cares about my body anyways. When I have a goal I stop at nothing to reach that goal."
"Weren't you proper or something? Or was that an illusion for us?" Eon questions in confusion.
Fae peeked at the Darkrai. He didn't have his top hat on. What a shame. He was quite the gentleman earlier.
The Darkrai growled lowly. "It wasn't an illusion. I had the get up, but it was only slowing me down. And now I won't stop until that predicting Umbreon is dead! I hope you're all prepared to die! I tried to be nice," the Darkrai began.
"Tried?" Corvus inquires in confusion.
"Shut up you stupid worm!" The Darkrai, enraged, shouted. He then cleared his throat. "As I said, I won't stop until that filthy-and-irritable Umbreon is destroyed. So please step aside while I—Oof!"
Fae was tired of this. She decided to shoot a Shadow Ball at the nuisance of a bad guy. Why did villains have to be so talkative? Especially this one? That would be his downfall. It was.
Once again the Darkrai was taken aback. However, this time? He fell over and his eyes swirled. He had fainted.
Fae approached him. She stood over him. "You talk too much," she remarks as she unnecessarily kicked some dirt in his face. What a disgraceful '
'Mon. She started panting lightly as she beamed at what she had accomplished.
A thump sounded nearby and Fae's ears lifted up as she heard cheering. A roar of pain broke out.
"Come on! We only got a few more hit points left! This Zamazenta cannot possibly take much more!" A voice exclaimed.
A chorus followed. "Yeah!"
"Wow, Fae. Great job!" Eon remarked with a proud expression on his face. "Yeah! You defeat the Darkrai!" Fergus added with a light grin.
LCome on, let's go help the others with Zacian and Zamazenta." Neri commented. They never really were told what their names were.
The group of Eeveelutions walked back towards a more forested area. The Pokémon nearby were mostly fighting Zen then.
Damn. How much defense and hp does this legendary wolf have? Fae wondered. Then she saw Lazarus who was fighting a whole group of Litten nearby. Some of their bodies littered the ground.
"Can we get some help over here?!" Shouted an Incineroar who was cringing from the pain he was in. He was a dark brown, and had wavy fur. His eyes were the color of a buisel's skin.
Apparently it wasn't rare for Pokémon to have odd colors around these parts. Fae wasn't sure what it was. But she knew she had to help this Incineroar.
"I'll go!" She exclaimed, bravely puffing out her chest. What was she doing? She couldn't fight a Zacian like Lazarus. She could barely defeat a Darkrai and help her friends let alone help a whole Pokémon species who were allies fight this beast they called a hero.
The Incineroar looked at her in thanks. "Thank you, Eevee. Anyone else?" The Incineroar demands.
"We will help. Zacian can be hard to defeat. He is a legendary after all, so you'll be needing some pretty legendary Pokémon to help out!" A voice exclaimed.
Fae looked around trying to find the source of the voice. It didn't sound like any Pokémon from around here. A group of black Pokémon started to appear. Some of them had blue on their heads while some were similar, yet bigger Pokémon.
Whoa! What are these Pokémon? She wondered. She had never seen these Pokémon before.
"Zorua and Zoroark." Corvus breathed as he stopped beside Fae. "They were our enemies, and now they're here. Why?!" He demanded with anger in his eyes.
How many Eevee and evolutions of Eevee have died because of all these groups? How many enemies did the original Eevee have? It was scary to think one Pokémon would cause this much chaos. Or perhaps the group of Zorua and Zoroark were the ones causing the chaos.
A strange Zoroark approached them. She was different than the rest of the species Fae was looking at. This one was a pure white Zoroark. She looked more wild than the others.
"Greetings, Eevee Tribe. We of the Zorua Tribe have been called here by the Fennekin Tribe." The white Zoroark informed them with a grin that was almost creepy.
"It's them, Fae. It's the tribe we've been fighting!" Corvus pointed out.
Fae nodded. Yet another tribe they were fighting with coming to help them. A little weird circumstance, especially for Fae.
"I'm coming too!" Eon cheerfully exclaimed with a huge smile. "Same!" Corvus remarked with a straight up look of confidence.
Before she knew it, Lazarus was in front of her and they were preparing to battle him.
Remember Fae, she told herself as she saw Eon give her a brief sad stare before he looked away. Remember this Pokémon is a legendary. He's way bigger and possibly way stronger than you, but you can do this. She reminded herself.
Fae shivered. She felt as if she shouldn't do this.
She stood her ground. No I will do this even if it kills me! She proclaimed in her mind as she started off with a Shadow Ball. Anything else would have hurt her teeth or her body. He just had too much armor.
The Zacian growled prehistorically. He obviously didn't like being hit by such a powerful move as Shadow Ball. His HP was only half the way through being depleted. Hopefully once they were done Lazarus and Zen would go back to being normal.
Lazarus attacked with full force, cutting away body parts of many Litten and Zorua. Fae managed to dodge the attack with a desperate Quick Attack to get out of the way.
Phew! Fae thought as sweat started to drip down her face. If I was only a second too late I'd been....she shivered. I just can't believe how many bodies are falling around me at this time.
Fae nearly screamed when the body of a shiny Zorua fell down right in front of her. She panicked, breathing heavily. She sighed in relief. It was just a Zorua.
She didn't know if she could live without her friends or family.
Then another body fell in front of her. She almost groaned upon the sight. Are you serious?
Fae jumped out of the way of yet another body. Jeez these Pokémon were dropping like flies. If the Litten weren't on their side now, Fae was sure they wouldn't be by the end of this battle.
Many Pokémon did their best to defeat Lazarus. He was truly a beastly wolf. He kept thrashing about in desperation to keep his controlled state.
Another loud cheer started. They all turned stupidly to see that Zen had finally fallen. He was unconscious. Another cheer after that told Fae that Viola had finally fainted.
It seemed the battle was finally turned in their favor. Fae turned around to see that Eon hadn't taken his eyes off of the Zacian—however he was still smile warmly.
"Isn't this great everyone?" He asked. "Teamwork is so much fun isn't it?"
That's when she saw it. The Behemoth Blade. Lazarus had drawn back his sword once more and it was aimed in the direction of Eon, a shiny male Fennekin, and a pink female Litten.
She immediately took action, running their way.
"Look out!" She called. She immediately shoved her brother and the other two strange Pokémon out of the way of the attack.
The shiny male Fennekin started to cry when he hit the ground.
Fae's eyes widened and her ears fell flat as she stumbled and fell right in front of the giant blade. Lazarus' eyes were pink and hungry for even more blood.
The blade came down upon her and she closed her eyes.
"Fae!" Cried Corvus.
She could hear the scurrying of feet. By then it was too late.
She felt the blade pierce through her pure white fur and her skin. She cried out in pain as she felt her body being flung upwards by the legendary Pokémon—her own friend.
She felt her body hit the ground, and then darkness overtook. She could feel her own blood pour out at her own stomach. It oozed by her side. Not to mention the feeling of losing her intestines.
The last thing she saw was Eon saying, "Im sorry, Fae. But this was how it had to be." And Lazarus coming out of his controlled state with a look of horror on his face at what he had done.
H-he knew what would happen in the future?
Fae's head fell down and her eyes rolled into her head.

Author's Note: So this is the fourtieth, and final chapter—besides the epilogue—to Fae's grand adventure.
Yes I actually planned this part out. Anyways this is probably my favorite chapter just due to the fact that it was way better in every way.
Anyways hope you enjoyed this chapter. Now onto the epilogue.
