Chapter Thirty-Nine
Fae trembled. How could this happen to such wonderful creatures as legendaries?
She shook her head as she kept herself up. Now was not the time for questions.
Fae hesitated. All her friends started attacking while she stood there frozen. How could she attack her legendary friends like that? They've been so helpful to her.
Zen and Lazarus glowed and roared primitively. It seems they had no choice.
"Fae! Start attacking! If we let them get the advantage, then more lives will be lost!" Parvaiz exclaimed as he used Psybeam on Zen. It practically did nothing to the bulky steel-and-fighting type.
Zen roared loudly. The noise echoed throughout the village.
The lime green Braixen was correct. Fae had no choice in this matter. It wasn't even her beloved legendary friends who were in control anymore. It seems as if Skliros was controlling everyone he made contact with.
If only the two legendaries could have fit down the stairs. It would have saved everyone this sort of trouble.
Fae used Quick Attack on Viola. Should she focus on the Gothita again or on the legendary Pokémon? The legendary Pokémon were more dangerous, yet Viola could easily take control of someone's mind if she wanted to.
What hope was there left? If there was more of them say the entire village as well as the Fennekin village then there was some possible hope, but Fae was pretty sure most were either dead at this point or healing their wounds.
Viola turned towards her. "Oh it's you. The annoying little shiny Eevee. Skliros has told me the rewards for if I succeed. You know, it's starting to be more fun to control others now. I could make your friends do anything. I could make you do anything." The Gothita commented with a wicked grin on her face.
Creepy.
Fae leaned away, feeling the Gothita's hot breath on her face. She shivered. Why did the move Hypnosis exist? It should be banned and forgotten about.
"I'll stop you," Fae growled.
This just ensured the Gothita's laughter. She laughed an insanely creepy laugh. "Oh, Sweetie. No one can stop me and Skliros from taking control. Sure the Darkrai may be blind, but he's definitely far more capable than the likes of you. You couldn't even battle. And now? You can battle. Just barely. I have nothing against you. You're okay. A little too cutesy for me, but I have a job to do."
Viola then used Psychic and flung Fae against a wall nearby. Fae cried out as pain coursed through her body. She attempted to get up but couldn't the first few seconds.
Her brother immediately took action, and jumped in front of her. He used Dark Pulse and sent back the psychic-Type Pokémon with anger in his glare.
"Leave her alone! She's doing better than you would in her situation!" Eon roared before stopping. Viola was too far away to hear.
The Dark Pulse had sent her straight into a tent. A few screams came from the inside, and Viola ran out with two heavily injured Umbreon as well as three Leafeon on her tail.
"Get out of our village, you creepy psychic type! We don't want your dumb hypnotism here!" The Umbreon with his ear pierced exclaimed as he harshly used Snarl on her.
The distraction was enough for the two legendaries to receive hits from an oncoming Flameflower from a Flareon who was charging to the rescue.
"Burnnn!" He screamed as Zen reached for his eyes. The attack was scorching near them. He whined as he rubbed his eyes. If not for him being controlled, Fae would have begged for the Eeveelution to cease the attack.
"For the almighty Giratina!" Cried a dark green Jolteon as his body emanated a Thunder Wave onto Kiumbe, who happened to be sneaking nearby. The Mewtwo fell over in shock. Quite literally.
The Mewtwo was then harassed some more from that same dark green Jolteon who shouted, "You're not near the strongest Pokémon! The lord and savior, Giratina is! Die!" He fired some Pin Missles on the Mewtwo until he fainted.
Actually, he continued even after the Mewtwo fainted. "I really hate Mewtwo." He commented with hate in his eyes after he was done.
Fae sweat dropped. Remind me when this is over to not mess around with the dark green Jolteon.
The Jolteon then whistled and acted as if nothing had happened. The battle continued on.
Fae used shadow Ball on Lazarus. Since most Pokémon were trying to slow down or defeat Zen, the bulkier of the two, Fae was trying to weigh down Lazarus. He was her favorite of the two, so hitting him with the Shadow Ball made her gut wrench with guilt.
Her stomach twist and turned. She wasn't cut out for hurting her own friends. Especially not Lazarus. He treated her with much kindness during their journey.
But I have to hurt him. He'll understand this is because he's controlled. There's no other way, is there?
Fae used Shadow Ball again.
Corvus saw what she was doing, and joined her with his own Shadow Balls and Weather Balls barrage. The Weather Balls were fire types since the sun was beating down on the Pokémon battling below. It did an okay chunk to the steel-and-fairy type. It took him close to the middle of his HP. However, it was still above the middle point.
There was not much to the battling going on. Most of it was just Fae and Corvus fighting Zacian—also known as Lazarus, and the rest fighting Zen while Skliros hit a few Espeon's with his Foul Play.
Some of the Espeon were different colorings besides the normal and shiny variants. Were these regional variants or were they just strangely discolored? Was there a reason?
A specific Espeon stood out from the rest. It was Sincerity. The gray-silver Eeveelution's golden eyes glowed as he used Dazzling Gleam in response to Skliros' powerful move.
Skliros cried out, not being able to see his target. That, at least, was their vantage point. Skliros was doing more ordering around rather than fighting. They could easily beat him.
What if we change targets? She wondered as she turned towards Corvus with a desperate look. Corvus stared at her in confusion—he didn't understand.
She pointed with a paw at Skliros. "What if we started attacking him instead? This fight would be over if we can defeat Skliros. He's blind, so we might be able to defeat him easily." Fae explained.
Corvus put a paw on his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe, but we can't discredit him. He made that witch take control of me and he seems to be your enemy." Corvus remarked.
Fae nodded. "I don't know if he is, but he certainly hates my brother. I think he's the reason he's blind. That's why he's after him. Though I don't know what exactly happened to cause this." Fae yipped as she started glowing an old timey kind of white.
She charged at Skliros with her glowing Quick Attack. She could practically hear her attack, and so did Skliros. He held out a raggedy appendage. Her attack was stopped with it.
Fae's eyes widened when Skliros' limb smacked her in the face. She screamed as she felt the wind between her hairs, and she landed with a large thud.
Fae was almost afraid to get up. She felt a sharp jab in her body when she landed. She grunted as she struggled to get up.
The Darkrai laugh maliciously. "What? You didn't expect me to have Sucker Punch? Well the ground suits you more than fighting does, Fae. It also suits your brother."
Skliros seemed to be searching for the dark type with his white eyes. Though, he wouldn't find anything with the pitch blackness he was seeing.
Fae felt angry with herself. How could she let herself get that greedy? Fae looked up when she saw Corvus shoot a Weather Ball at Skliros.
The attack actually hit the strong dark type. "Gah!" He roared as he levitated a little closer to the ground than usual. Fae would have expected him to last a little longer than that. Or perhaps it was merely unexpected.
"Shut up you evil Darkrai! Why must all Darkrai be so evil like this?!" Circus snarled as he used Double Edge, flinching as he took the recoil.
The Darkrai glared towards Corvus' direction. "Another Eevee? How curious. You must be the one who was hitting on Fae. Did you know you're such a crybaby? Sheesh. Getting rejected by someone sucks sure, but crying over it is overrated. When I fell in love I killed the person who I loved after they rejected me. Because if they don't love me, then why let them love anyone else?" Skliros growled.
"Oh my gosh he's a Yandere." Corvus muttered.
By this point Eon and Neri were both standing nearby. They were preparing attacks themselves. But what they needed was a fairy type move or fighting type move. Not a weakened dark move or the Shadow Ball Fae had.
This fight was a close one, however it did seem like someone took out Viola as the great wolves were starting to flicker between controlled and getting their minds back.
However, Fae noticed Eon looking guiltily at her before turning his gaze at Skliros.
"How about we fight him together, Fae? Maybe then we can fight Zacian and Zamazenta. After that, perhaps this village and Pervaiz's village can finally have peace once and for all. What do you say?" Eon suggested.
Fae nodded with determination. She wouldn't run away.
"Let's do this guys!" She exclaimed, feeling more determined to fight Skliros now than ever.
