Chapter Thirty
The dungeon was surprisingly easy to get through. Most of the Pokémon in the dungeon seemed to be Aegislash, Honedge, and Doublade. They seemed surprised to see an outsider. It just have been years since they've last seen a Pokémon.
Despite it being a dungeon, most Pokémon seemed educated and peaceful. It was almost like it was a party that lasted until now instead of a dungeon full of Pokémon.
The dungeon was a little too easy, in Fae's opinion. Especially if someone like her could go through it without trying hard.
What was the point in going in a dungeon if the Pokémon weren't going to fight?
It felt a little strange.
She reached the bottom of the dungeon. She gasped in wonder as she saw the open room. There was a statue almost exactly like the ones in the middle of Poketown. This, statue, however only sported the one legendary Zacian.
Fae thought it was odd she was seeing this Pokémon statue once again. Was this dungeon where Zacian resided?
Excitement pulsed within Fae's aura. Maybe the Zacian would be around here somewhere. Fae looked around the empty plain-like area. Nothing.
Her ears fell in disappointment.
She really would have liked to meet such a Pokémon. The only legendaries she technically met were villainous, wanting her for bait.
However, Fae realized there was something here. There was a gray stone grave in front of her. She gasped upon the sight. Was the great wolf that lay within this legend dead? Fae's jaw dropped in shock.
It couldn't be possible could it? Legends couldn't die.
The curiosity within her peeked, and she slowly approached the stone grave with questions they needed answering. She noticed the text on the grave. There was a name engraved on it that read: 'In memory of the Sword Hero.'
The Sword hero? Zacian? Fae wondered as she took a closer look. There was a crown scribed on the gravestone. There was a bump on the ground where Fae assumed the body of this Sword Hero was.
There didn't seem to be anything of interest in the bottom of the dungeon, so Fae began to turn away. A soft breeze whirled past Fae, and the sound of paw steps could be heard. However, Fae heard the sound of something flapping and turned towards that instead of the paw steps—The paw steps were too light to be heard.
Fae was curious. What had made that sound? She raced over towards the source of it: a tapestry. It depicted two curious-looking human beings.
Fae shivered as she looked onward.
The humans seemed to be holding a sword and shield much like the two legendaries. Now she was confused. Were the humans holding Zacian and Zamazenta? She wasn't sure. There must be symbolism within this tapestry. It was very misleading.
There was a depiction down at the bottom of the tapestry that read: 'Ancient Sword and Shield Heroes.'
Fae stared at the tapestry some more. "Huh, this tapestry is very confusing." She remarked as a thump could be heard behind her.
She gasped and jumped, turning around at the sound. It was a light sound, but it was very clear to her now that someone was in this end with her. She got a little nervous. Who could be down here with her?
"H-hello?" She asked. Whoever or whatever was there—they were gone. Fae glanced around, feeling tension rise up as she tried to figure out who was there.
Was it an enemy? An ally? A thief? "Who's there? Show yourself! I'm not afraid of you!" She yipped as she prepared herself for a possible battle.
A soft laugh could be heard as a scar-ridden wolf—the one from the statues—came padded out of the darkness. This wolf was lithe, and more skinny than the portraits of them showed.
The wolf approached Fae. Fae was filled with awe. Why hadn't anyone visited this place in forever? It's home to a literal hero of man-and-Pokémon-kind.
"It's okay, little one," the wolf howled mysteriously as he stepped forward to meet Fae. "I am not here to hurt you. I was simply living here. This is my home. It is very nice to meet Pokemon after a long time."
The wolf's eyes seemed bloodshot. Had this legend been sleeping? How long did he sleep? They did stumble a bit as they walked. Was that why no one went here? The hero towered over her with a smile on their face.
"Y-You're—" she began before the Pokémon lifted a paw formally to interrupt her. "Yes, I am Zacian. I have been asleep here for many eons. I am done with my rest. Now, tell me, who are you." The formidable Pokémon requested with calm in his eyes.
"Me? Oh, I'm Fae. It's nice to meet you." She remarked with wide eyes. The Zacian chuckled. "Nice to meet you as well, Fae. Tell me, do you know where my brother is?"
His brother? Oh! He must mean Zamazenta. I haven't searched the world for such a dungeon in the shape of a shield.
"Uhm, no I haven't a clue. I can help you search." She offered. The Zacian beamed at her. "You would do that for a stranger such as myself?" He asked her with bright eyes. He obviously meant well and true by how he acted.
Fae couldn't detect any malice in his soothing voice.
She grinned back. "Of course! Your brother is Zamazenta I presume." She commentated. The wolf nodded slightly. "Yes. He should be in a dungeon similar to this. Only, it's a shield shaped cave, so it may look more triangular instead of looking like any normal dungeon. It should be pretty close to here."
Fae nodded. "I have a map, so we can look at that. But please do tell me why your caves have become cages." She remarked.
Zacian smiled. "Curious why we don't get any visitors? Well, we used to be super popular—though there's still a few statues up of us doing wonderful deeds and rescues, however as time passed we fell into deep slumber after a rescue, and I guess Pokemon must have forgotten about me."
Now that he mentioned, there wasn't really anyone else at those statues. But how could a whole town just forget about their saviors like that? It's a little spooky.
"How could anyone forget about two big wolves?" Fae wondered. Zacian shrugged. "You know what a library is, right?"
Fae rolled her eyes at her new friend. "I'm sure researching you two will help. Is your name actually Zacian, or do you have a nickname of sorts that identifies you better?" Fae asked the older 'Mon.
The blue wolf smiles through his sword. Fae wonders how she could hear them through all that metal. Well, at least she could understand them. That's what counts she supposed.
"Oh, I do have a nickname, Fae. It's Lazarus." They confirmed, lifting their head into the air dramatically.
Lazarus? I've never heard of a Pokémon called Lazarus before. I wonder what it could mean. Probably something ancient.
"Well, it's a nice name, Lazarus. Very unique. Don't think I've heard anyone called that before." She admitted. Lazarus only smiled.
He turned around, and headed out. Oh, they were going now, right?
Fae ran to catch up to them. "So," she began awkwardly. "Does your brother also have a nickname, or is it just you?" She asked him.
The wolf and the fox padded side by side.
"Well my friend, the Hero, gave me that nickname. I don't understand it's full meaning, but I know it's referencing the dead. My brother also has a nickname. He's called Zen. I'd say I have the more creative brother. We were both technically these two's Pokémon, but we only allowed our powers to be used for a crazed Eternatus. She's gone fortunately." The wolf explained.
Fae nodded as she circled a triangular shaped cave that seemed to be nearby. She wasn't interested in that sort of history, and she wanted to remember where they were heading.

The Darkrai listened to the rant the Eevee gave him. This Eevee was Corvus, the one Fae had been hanging around as of late. Skliros had been stalking the white Eevee when he heard Rau tell him the tan-brown-and-fluffy Eevee was walking around the area mindlessly.
He thought he would take this opportunity to listen. Maybe he could get this Pokémon to help him. He seemed to like Fae enough that he would hurt her brother if she rejected him. He could even blame the Umbreon for this mess.
It was the perfect plan. Too bad it didn't turn out that way. It never did for the legend.
He had listened to his rant for two hours on end without a break, and when he suggested his great plan to destroy Eon—the audacity of this bitch—Corvus rejected him.
"You, know. I may be mad Fae doesn't like me in that way, but I'm not that insane! I won't help you." Corvus responded with a calmness of sorts. Too bad he couldn't detect the danger he was in.
"Oh? Really?" Skliros asked in surprise. He then nodded at Viola who smirked. It was too bad Skliros couldn't see it. He couldn't see just how good he had it now. "Viola, do it now." He ordered.
He would have loved to use Hypnosis himself. Unfortunately, he lost that power with his eye sight.
But now that I have her, I can have my way. If only it were this easy to destroy the squad and that Umbreon as it is to manipulate Pokémon to my control.
The Darkrai could hear the soft murmurs of the Eevee before he fell over. He started snoring immediately. Skliros snorted. What a pathetic being.
"I think you know what to do next, Viola." He informed her. The Gothita immediately got to work. Now they had a super soldier at their disposal.
Skliros smirked. At this rate, maybe he could even hypnotize Eon into jumping off a roof.
