Chapter Twenty-Nine
Once the two Eevee had gone back to the Village, they laid down the dead and injured off with an shiny Glaceon. He would take care of both the dead bodies preparation for burial and the Flareon's wounds.
A weight lifted itself from Fae's shoulder as she dropped the unconscious deadweight Pokemon. It was such a struggle.
Too bad Eon wasn't here. He was way stronger than her. He could probably carry the Flareon way better than her, with her awkward positioning on the Flareon's body.
It had been lying on her back and dragging on the ground. The body was also not facing the right way, so the paws dragged on the ground, and Fae struggled not to hit the face of the Flareon with every passing branch or root.
"Thanks so much for the help you two! Hopefully I can get Flitz back up on his paws again!" The Glaceon exclaimed as he waved the two goodbye.
Side by side, the two Eevee walked out of the hospital tent, and Corvus led the curious Eevee off into another building and closed the tent cover. The male Eevee looked around outside to make sure they weren't heard before coming back inside. He checked every corner for nobody.
He sighed. "Phew." He looked up. "Look, Fae. I need to tell you something. That's why I brought us to this unoccupied house."
Fae nodded. "Well, what do you need to tell me? Is there a disaster looming over this village?" She wonders in horror. Of course, she was also a bit excited.
This adventure so far was gruesome, but she liked the new friends she's made on the way. If I can call them that anyways. The meetings were so brief.
Corvus jittered nervously.
"Well," he began, messing with his neck fur as Fae leaned in anticipation. "I-I really think you're a cool Pokémon, and I would really like to take you out on a date. You know, like a couple."
Fae stared at him. He was definitely serious. "What?" She questions. She was in disbelief. It was certainly a possibility for a guy to like her, she just felt shocked at how quickly this male fell for her.
Do I say yes? Do I say no? I mean, I can't just say yes without telling him I don't know if I will fall for him back. I guess it wouldn't hurt to say yes to one date, but let him know I don't feel exactly the same. Yeah. I'll do that. Hope he understands.
Corvus glanced at her. "Did you not hear me? I said I'm in love with you. We talked about this before the battle."
Was that supposed to probe a reaction from Fae? She didn't know. But she had to answer to it somehow.
"Yeah. I heard you. It's just...we're friends." She remarks. This greatly disappointed Corvus. "Yeah. We're friends, but I see you as more than a friend now. Do you not feel the same?" He asked her with disappointment clearly in his eyes.
Well, she did like him. She just wasn't sure how much she liked him.
Again, she didn't really value her romantic life over her adventurous life with her siblings. She wasn't sure if now was a good time either to get into that. She was an adult, sure. She probably deserved love now more than ever, but there was just too much going on.
The things like the Luxray. Maybe she should wait for it until after the Luxray. And what about Skliros? He was still out there. As long as he posed a threat, she would probably have to keep herself away from love.
Plus, did she even want it? She didn't know.
"Isn't it a bit too soon after battle to ask me that?" She asked. Was this the safest option? Asking if now was a good time?
It was after battle. And don't you usually have to do something after these battles in order to properly mourn the dead? She didn't know. She was just told that that's what this place did.
"Huh? I don't think this battle had anything to do with how we feel, Fae. Are you...not interested in me? I don't want you to divert the conversation. I want an actual answer."
He wants an answer? But it's not going to be what he wants. Fae didn't want to hurt his feelings. But did she have a choice anyways? It was clear they were here by force, and not because these Eevee village invited them in. They wanted them here for battle, and that was it.
"I don't feel the same way, Corvus. I'm sorry." She told as she looked away.
The younger male near her immediately rushed out of the tent. Fae just didn't know what to tell him. Was this the best option? She hurt him.
She sighed as she left the tent. She had no other choice, but to reject him. She didn't feel the same. It's not her fault he's sad about it. Fae padded through the village.
She wanted to find her brother.
She found him speaking to the Orange elder Eevee. The two were smiling and got along great. Fae smiled at their kinship. It was nice to see Eon getting along so well, then again she didn't know a time when he didn't expect when he was facing that Luxray.
"I would like to thank you once again for stopping with us. I know we can be forceful about staying here, however we are running short on Eevee and Eeveelution to fight."
Eon's head dipped. "Of course. Have you ever considered allies of a different kind of Pokémon besides Eevee and it's evolutions?"
The orange eevee's ears folded down. "Unfortunately not. Most of our allies want nothing to do with this battle. We tried peace multiple times, however nothing seemed to work." He commented. His eyes traveled over to Fae.
"Oh, hello there Vee. How are you?"
Fae didn't know his name. She knew that he as an Elder made the decision to have Eon hang out with him. This led to Fae wishing he didn't do that so they could spend time. However, she wasn't opposed to speaking and hanging out with Corvus. Though, he was a huge fan of maps and lore.
Fae wasn't into that stuff. She was into the adventure she could be having.
"I'm good. Are you two talking about the war with the Fennekin tribe?" She asked. She was curious. What were they discussing?
"Ah, good to see you have good hearing young one. Yes we do happen to be talking about that. Now, as I was saying..."
Fae turned away. He didn't even let her say anything to her brother.
She supposed he was too busy to bother with her.
But what I can do now? Should I go chasing after a friend who needs time to accept how I feel, or should I try to help and go to the Fennekin Tribe?
Fae wasn't sure. Both seemed like a death wish. Or at least a bad idea in her mind. It might be better just to go get ice cream or see what other options she had.
"Hmm," she said thoughtfully. She could always explore. Yeah! Exploring was a good idea. But where could she go? She had a map, but there were so many choices for adventure.
She had dungeons, she had towns, and she had unexplored things—well it was all unexplored for her.
Fae took out her map, deciding to tell a lone shiny Umbreon nearby where she was going. The shiny Umbreon nodded as he turned back towards his guard duty of the camp.
Fae headed out, wondering what sort of adventure she could go on. There was a cave nearby that was a dungeon that housed loads of cool Pokémon. She could see what she could find there.
She could always do with more friends. She also liked the prospect of treasures and finding statues.
So, she figured picking a dungeon with a strange X on it would be a fun idea. She thought that the marks looked similar to the Zacian Pokemon statue she saw.
So she headed out, and approached the entrance. It was covered in vines and moss. She wasn't sure how old it was, but she figured it would be a good idea to not question it, and dive right in.
So she did.

Skliros sighed. He had been watching over the Luxray's progress. So far a bunch of bandits did better than him.
Hmm, what can I do to rid myself of that pesky Eon?
Skliros continued to think. Their last hideout was compromised.
Suddenly, Skliros felt a harsh punch to his face. He cried out suddenly, but quickly gained his composure. It was a webbed, wet paw.
"What took you so long?" He asked the Pokémon who was seething with rage.
The Pokémon panted with anger. "You abandoned me!" She seemingly roared.
"I'm sorry, Rau, but it's every Pokémon for themselves. I heard you got captured. How'd you escape?"
The shiny Greninja sighed. "Their security sucks. Sending a bunch of grass types is futile if I'm faster than them."
Skliros nodded. "Ah I see. Anyways, prepare yourself, Rau. I'm trying to think of a plan to get rid of Eon."
