Chapter Thirty-Seven

Fae and the others were waiting for Parvaiz to come out. He had been talking to a salmon colored Fennekin for a while now. There seemed to be a darker green colored Fennekin in there as well. On top of that, a completely black Fennekin was there as well; the only part not black was her pure white nose.

Parvaiz walked out of the tent with a small smile. "They said they would talk to the Eevee tribe. However, I am unsure if we will make amends or not." Parvaiz informed with a serious tone in his voice.

"So, we might get peace with them?" Corvus asked. He had been waiting for them outside of Parvaiz's den and only approached once they came outside.

The lime Green Braixen flinched at the Eevee. He had accepted the idea Corvus had been controlled as Luxray had been controlled all the same. He was still getting used to the idea of the Eevee being nicer than he had been when he showed up.

"Yes," Parvaiz remarked. "But I don't know for sure. Your tribe has done a lot of naughty things. Lying to you and manipulating you into this war isn't something to be taken lightly. Hopefully a new Dawn and a renewed friendship is in order."

The green Braixen watched as Corvus nodded eagerly. "That's all I've ever wanted!" He exclaimed with a puff of his chest.

Parvaiz didn't respond. The elders waltzed out of their den and noticed the group.

"So you're the ones who want to help us make peace with the Eevee Village?" The dark green Fennekin remarks questioningly, pointing a fingered paw at Fae.

Fae nodded as Eon stepped forward.

"We would all like that to happen. There's been enough war even for outsiders like us. We do apologize for getting in your business." Eon curtly remarks with a dip of his head in respect.

The pink Fennekin smiled warmly. "No, it's okay. We've been done with this war since it began. Outsiders are welcome so long as they don't cause trouble." The pink Fennekin's gaze turned towards Corvus who tried to shrink.

"I am really sorry about all this, sirs and ma'am." He apologized...again. He looked miserable. It wasn't his fault, though. He just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Skliros must have planned this all out.

But what did the Darkrai expect? To corner a family man in an enemy's territory? Well, at least he did help them gain the trust of the zfennekin tribe. Although, Fae noticed the injured glaring at her still.

If the Eevee tribe was still anything like how the Fennekin Tribe described it, they could take advantage of this situation. But Fae knew she and her family wouldn't allow anything bad to happen to the Fennekin tribe. It was weird defending someone's enemies but these weren't their enemies. They were just thrown into a war that wasn't theirs.

The multi-colored fennekins ignored him as they continued to speak. "What kind of plan do we have in order to end this war?" The black Fennekin inquired as she took out a sheet of paper. "We need a solid plan to convince the Eevee. They're a stubborn bunch. Like us I suppose in a way."

Lazarus and Zen both seemed to be within their own minds. A few seconds later, Zen seems to brighten up and lifts a paw. "I may have a solution." He remarks with a sneaky grin.

Parvaiz frowns. "I have a feeling I'm not going to like where this is going."

Zen smirked. "Maybe not," he replies as he indicates with a paw toward the direction of the Eevee Tribe. "Either way, I will explain this on the way!" He then dashes away as Lazarus face paws.

"Let's follow him. I just hope his idea isn't going to get one of us killed." Lazaru remarks. Then the group start walking at a pace towards the Eevee village.

Fae was left in her thoughts padding awkwardly side by side with Corvus. The last time he had been consciously aware of the decisions he was making was when he admitted his feelings to her and then ran away.

Fae gazed over at the other Eevee with sadness in her eyes. I hope he's still not that worked up over the rejection I gave him. It's just...I'm not looking for love right now. I'm looking for a purpose in life. A boyfriend cannot give such a purpose.

Fae and the others view started to change as they got closer to the Eevee village. There was signs of life starting to be sense and Fae's eyes glowed when she saw that the village was still alive—however it was only just alive.

Many different Eevee and their evolutions were out and about together picking up the pieces of their home. Buildings had been torn down during the attack from Corvus who was shrinking away at the sight.

"Did I do all that?" He asked Fae.

Fae nodded grimly. She didn't know what to say to him. Although, it wasn't truly him who did all this. It would still forever be Skliros who did this sort of damage to the seemingly-kind specie- related village.

Someone ought to stop someone as cruel as him. She thought as she saw the faces of the many Eevee and such turn their way. All the faces bore shock and fear.

A few young Eevee dashed into their houses with fear in their eyes. It was almost like the Fennekin tribe lied. But if so, why did even Corvus believe in the words of Parvaiz? Was the Eevee village that manipulated into the lies the leaders of the village set upon them?

Immediately, the Orange elder Eevee ran up to them. "What are you doing? You're bringing enemy Pokémon into our village!"

It was obvious as the daylight shining down on the heroes. Of course they knew that. Why wouldn't they?

Fae felt uneasy as she stepped forward. No one else stepped forward, so she decided maybe she would be listened to.

"Yes, but they have an interesting thing to tell you. Don't you know what happened in your past?" Fae questioned him.

The orange Eevee's face fell. He shook his head. "Unfortunately the only one who knows what truly happened is Sincerity. But he isn't here currently. He's disappeared."

The only Pokémon who knows what happens disappears? Like that isn't suspicious. Fae thought as she felt sweat roll down her face.

The orange Eevee was given irritated looks. He lifted a paw. "B-but I do know where he is. I'll take you to him."

The orange Eevee took off. Fae never did bother to remember any of the elder's names. It was weird also. Despite them being elders, they allowed their minds to be corrupted by their own kind.

Eon ran alongside Fae with a frown on his face. "It's such a shame. Pokémon tricking others for their own gain." He commented to her. His eyes shown he wanted to tell her something, but he didn't say anything more.

The orange Eevee lead them into a thicket nearby. He ran down the stairs that were hidden within the thicket. Was this there the whole time?

The thicket had been located just nearby the berry bushes she and Corvus had been picking berries at. How convenient. Unfortunately, the stairs and the hole it was located in was smaller than the legendary wolf Pokémon.

"Huh. I don't think we'll fit in there. I think this is as far as me and my brother can go, everyone. Do be careful. If I think I know where this may lead, you will all need to know the advantages and disadvantages you have. Use your strategies wisely." Lazarus warns them as he stared at the hole.

Zen whines nervously. "So there's nothing we can do to help?"

Lazarus laughed. "You were the one who wanted to stop helping Pokemon. Now you want to help?"

Zen growls at Lazarus before his head turns back to the hole. His eyes were focused on it. "Yeah, and I still stick by that. I just...why don't we all stay up here." Zen suggested.

"Zen?" Lazarus questions.

Zen shakes his head. "Bah! It's nothing! Just go down there. Be careful like Lazarus says. I just had this feeling. It's...hard to describe. Just hurry!" Zen barked.

Following the legendaries' orders, Fae and the others descend down the stairs. The area around Fae turned darker and darker. Was the Pokémon who they were expecting a black Eevee? Or perhaps an Umbreon of some kind?

Fae gulped. She hoped she wasn't descending into an endless bloody battle. One that would end with no one making it out.

She treaded further and further down. She could hear the sounds of footsteps walking around lightly, unexpecting.

Fae made it down, and her eyes widened. It wasn't a black Eevee at all. It was a gray-almost-silverish Espeon with golden-brown eyes. The gray Eevee had some darker gray stripes on his ears and seemed to be focusing on writing in something. A history book.

Fae's eyes widened. He was rewriting history. What a liar.

"Hey, you, stop!" Eon exclaimed, breaking their cover.

The Eevee screamed, jumping back. He was shaking violently. "H-How did you get here? Dimas?! I thought I told you you weren't allowed to bring others here." He noticed the Braixen and Fennekin in the room. "And bringing enemy Pokémon into the territory? Are you insane?"

"You lied to us, Sincerity. Your name is a lie to us all." Dimas shouted as the Orange Eevee prepared to attack the gray Eevee who called himself the truth.

Sincerity looked around him. "I see." He remarked with a sigh and closed his book as if there was no other choice. "Yes, I lied to you. But, I was forced to lie to you."

What? This was just getting more confusing.
