I groaned as I awoke from my second blackout. I felt something sniffing at my hair like a dog and giggled, "Ah Gizmo, stop it ya silly dog."

I reached my hand out blindly to stroke what I thought was my dog, until I felt a weird structure nuzzle against my palm. I quickly looked up to see a gigantic fuzzy face right up in mine. I quickly backed up until my back hit a concrete wall. The creature whined as I moved away. Once my brain started comprehending what was before me, all of the pieces clicked. I gasped as I looked up at the majestic beast before me. This… can't be real.

"Trico?" I said. His ears perked and he let out a low groan at my answer. Trico leaned forward and started to sniff at me again. "Whoa there, Trico!" I yelped as his muzzle pushed against my body and part of my face and kinda squished me into the wall. His breathing snuffed against my hoodie and left a ticklish feeling. I laughed, "Trico no! Down boy!" He pulled away and let out a huff as he sat down and let his tail curl. I stood up and brushed myself off before looking up at him.

Trico was like everything in the game. His bird-like talons for feet, silver and dark gray, ruffled feathers covering the entirety of his body except for his face, forelegs, and his pink underbelly. Tiny, black, feathered wings were tucked on top of his back. His face was covered in black and gray baby bird fur-like feathers, and a few whiskers on his cheeks. The feathers ended around his black muzzle and his nostrils slightly flared from every exhale he let out. His dark gray bat ears twitched as he heard different sounds of the environment and two, glowing, light blue horns like the barrel. One was broken in half and left a stump. He also had the Pomeranian black, tear-like color going down from his dilated eyes. The last trait was his torn tail which faded from light gray to black.

I gulped as I hesitantly rose my hand up, hoping his excited, dog personality was real as well. Trico reached his head down from his slightly long gizzard and keened as he leaned into the touch. I let out an airy chuckle as I stroked his nose. I was just speechless. How could something from a video game become a reality?

I walked over to his front leg as he looked at where I was going. Grabbing a handful of feathers, I grunted as I jumped up and climbed onto his leg. So far, so good, I thought. I maneuvered my body around Trico's as I climbed and eventually made it on top his neck and straddled. I brushed my fingers through his soft feathers and proceeded to pet his neck. Trico let out a contented, lowing sound and his eyes closed as he relaxed into the touch. As he started to lie down, he instantly bucked as he yelped in pain. "Whoa, Trico, whoa," I shushed as I rubbed his side. "What's wrong, buddy?" He let out a pained whimper and his feathers ruffled more. I stood up, wobbling a few times before finding my footing, and scanned over his body.

I soon found two spears sticking from Trico's body. One in his rib, and the other near his tail, the feathers stained with blood. "Hold on, Trico. Good ol' Jackaboy's gonna help," I assured. I crawled over to his rib and grabbed onto the slim, wooden shaft of the spear. Getting a good grip, I told Trico, "I'm sorry, buddy," before yanking out the bloody shaft with a loud grunt. He let out a shriek of pain and started thrashing around. I grabbed onto the feathers tightly as I was thrown around like a cowboy in a rodeo. I attempted to calm him down by rubbing the wound as soothingly as I could as I let out comforting words, the blood wiping away from his feathers at the same time. He soon calmed and started letting out more huffs as his breathing slowed. I smiled and kissed his side softly before climbing to his rear end. With another grunt, I ripped the spear out once more. Trico whimpered and bucked again. I didn't have a good grip and flew off, landing on my back on the rocky ground.

I groaned in pain and tried to get the breath that was knocked out of my lungs. Trico saw me fall and walked over with quaking footsteps. He stared down at me as I smiled and gave a small wave. "Hi."

Trico leaned down and bit at my hoodie, picking me up from the ground and setting me down onto my feet. I smiled more and gave Trico's muzzle another rub in appreciation. After he rose his head back up, I soon gazed around the place we were in. We were in a circular, concrete room of sorts, moss quickly snaking around the cracked walls. Grass was growing out of the many cracks on the ground, slightly swaying in the slight gust of wind every now and then. Dust specks were floating around in the room as small crickets and butterflies fluttered around in the filtered sunlight which shone through the collapsed ceiling. Small paths were blocked by either old, rusting gates or by the mounds of fallen debris.

A small glow illuminated from one of the blocked paths. Blue butterflies were flying around it gracefully. I jogged over to see a half buried, glowing barrel. The glow was the same color as Trico's horns. Oh, I remember now! They're Trico's only food source!

I crouched down and pulled with all my might, the barrel breaking free and nearly making me tumble to the ground. I lugged it up against my chest and walked to Trico. His eyes instantly glowed yellow as soon as he saw the barrel. "You hungry?" I asked him. He walked up and stared down at the glowing object with interest. Stepping back, I heaved the barrel into the air and it was caught by Trico's mouth, crunching against his jaws as he chewed and swallowed it down.

I smiled and climbed onto his back. "Okay, Trico," I started. "Let's find a way out of here."
