"You know what kid." Dean started. "My brother and I, we don't usually take in people like this. But since you seem so curious about what goes bump in the night, we just might keep you around until you decide on what to do." Dean added, stealing a glance from me because before he looked back at the road.

"I turn eighteen next year. I'll be an adult then and I was planning on going to college to become a veterinarian." I replied.

"My brother tried the same thing and got sucked back into hunting." Dean stayed.  "Trust me, if you want to learn about the whole thing we do, then you have no chance in ever going in a normal life." It had seemed like he had experience with it. I nodded.

"Then if I don't get to live a normal life, I guess that's what is going to happen." I replied in a soft tone. I still wasn't very comfortable with these boys, but I felt safe with them. Which was hard to explain since I barely trusted them.

On the way back to the bunker, Dean blasted AC/DC and Bon Jovi. Some songs he would sing along to and I would hum some songs that I knew.

I had dozed off before we arrived back at the bunker. Dean had shook me awake and I had woke up instantly. I grabbed my bag before I climbed out and headed inside. I went downstairs and followed after Dean.

"Where am I going to be sleeping?" I had asked, only to spot Sam and Castiel. Dean had gone into his room or something.

"We have a spare room," Sam said as he closed the laptop shut and had led me to a decent sized hallway with different rooms. He opened the door. The room was small with a decent sized bed that was large enough for me to fit in. There was a nice comforter which was white along with the sheets. There was a small wooden desk and a chair. There was also a nightstand with a lamp on it. I turned and looked up at Sam.

"Thanks. I really appreciate this," I said with a small smile. Sam nodded and returned a small smile.

"Of course. Get settled in. If you need anything, we'll be out here." He stated before he closed the door. I heard his footsteps retreat and I began unpacking.

There was a dresser that I hadn't noticed before. It was also a light wood color, which seemed to match with the rest of the decor and items in the room.

My top drawer was underwear and socks, the second one was pants, and the third was shirts. There was two more drawers that held extra clothing that I couldn't fit in the other rightful drawers. I was someone who liked to stay organized and know where everything is, so everything was neatly folded and put away.

I placed other belongings on the desk and the nightstand. There was a picture of me as a baby and my parents with my brother. There was many other things that I had put up around the room, which I had put neatly up.

I had sat down on the bed for a moment before I had heard a knock at the door. "It's open!" I said.

Dean had came in and looked around. "See that you made yourself at home," he commented as he took in the decorated room.

"Yup," I said, popping the 'P' on it.

Dean had closed the door behind himself as he went over and sat down on the chair at the desk.

"I have a question for you," Dean began. I had sat down on the opposite side of the bed from him, so I turned around to face him.

"I'm listening." I replied.

"Do you want to learn how to hunt?" He asked.

"You said you'd just give me protection, so no." I replied. Even though there was a part of me who truly wanted to learn about these things and hunt them, I still wasn't sure.

"If you're going to stay here, you're gonna have to learn how at some point." Dean said. "Or at least about the things out there."

"That wasn't what I came here for though," I stated. It was half true. I came here because one, my step dad is a complete asshole and deserves to burn in Hell. Two, I knew at some point it would come down to me either hunting or being more informed on these creatures.

"I know. But we just have to make it work, alright kiddo?" Dean said.

"You do know I have a name, right?" I asked as he stood up and headed for the door.

"Carter." That was all he said before he had left the room and I was now alone again. I shifted slightly before I had gotten up and exited my own room.

I made my way to the main area as I spotted Dean, Sam, and Castiel all there. They seemed to be discussing something important that I had no idea what it was. But I honestly didn't want to know at this point.

I went down the steps and sat down at the table.

"I want to learn," I said.

"You ever held a gun before?" Dean asked, looking insider about it. He was like a dad letting his daughter go out of the first time.

"Yes, I've held a gun before." I replied. I felt eyes lay upon me.
