Chapter 41

Hoseok attempted to reassure Jungkook, explaining the upcoming birthday party. "We will meet again," he said, trying to provide some sense of hope amidst the tension.

Jungkook shook his head in disbelief. "All the members, hyung? You want Yn to meet with everyone?"

Hoseok nodded affirmatively, understanding the magnitude of the situation. "Yes, Jungkook. All the members," he confirmed.

"But.. what.. what if?" Jungkook's heart was breaking, his breath haggard.

Hoseok understood Jungkook's dilemma, recognizing the depth of his pain. "I know, Jungkook," he responded, his voice soft yet firm. "But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it."

Hoseok and Jungkook sat back into their respective chairs, their minds in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. The events of the evening had left them both reeling, the aftermath of your presence still lingering in the air.

Hoseok was enveloped in the lingering remnants of your presence. He inhaled deeply, his senses still carrying the faint scent that was uniquely yours. The fragrance lingered, evoking a mix of memories and emotions within him.

Hoseok's mind swirled with conflicting thoughts, torn between the desire to linger in the memory of your fragrance and the realization that it couldn't be his to keep. He muttered to himself, "Fuck... Don't..." His voice trailed off, his internal struggle evident in the tension etched across his face.

His thoughts and feelings were a maelstrom of conflicting emotions. He grappled with a mixture of desires and yearnings, torn between holding onto the remnants of your presence and realizing that it wasn't something he could claim as his own. The intensity of his emotions was evident in his expression, which was a blend of longing and turmoil.

Hoseok's frustration boiled over, his voice tinged with an undertone of bitterness as he muttered, "Why can't it be me?" His words hung heavy in the air, carrying the weight of his suppressed desires and the pain of an unrequited love.

Jungkook's mind was filled with despair, his thoughts consumed by the feeling of having lost control and you slipping away from his grasp. He struggled to process the events of the evening, and the weight of his own pain and regret pressed heavily upon him.

"No. I can't let her leave me like this."
Jungkook ran outside, after you.
Determination ignited within him, an intense resolve coursing through his veins. He couldn't bear to let you slip away without taking action. As if possessed by a single-minded purpose, Jungkook bolted out of the restaurant, his footsteps carrying him onto the street in pursuit of you.

By the time Jungkook had rushed outside, you were nowhere to be seen. The street was empty, with no trace of your presence. He looked around desperately, hoping to catch a glimpse of you, but it was as if you had vanished into thin air.

Hoseok hastily followed after Jungkook, realizing the gravity of the situation. He caught up to him and called out urgently, "Jungkook!" Hoseok's voice echoed through the quiet night, filled with concern and urgency.

Hoseok's footsteps quickened as he chased after Jungkook, his heart racing with worry and concern. "Jungkook!" he called out again, his voice filled with urgency. Hoseok's mind raced as he considered the consequences of losing sight of you, the fear of losing you to the shadows of the night gnawing at his insides.

"What?" Jungkook dropped to his knees, a mixture of pain and dejection etched across his face. The rain that was falling gently became heavier, soaking his clothes and mixing with the despair that he felt. "She's gone," he murmured to Hoseok, a note of bitterness in his voice. "I've lost her."

Hoseok stood there, frozen in place, watching as Jungkook knelt on the ground, defeated and dejected. Hoseok's heart ached at the sight, his eyes widening in surprise and confusion. The vulnerability and pain that Jungkook displayed was a side of him that Hobi had rarely witnessed.

Hoseok's voice cut through the rain, firm and commanding. "Get up, Jungkook," he instructed, his voice tinged with urgency. "We can't be seen like this." Hoseok reached out a hand towards Jungkook, attempting to pull him to his feet.

Jungkook got up, but he had a desperate look on his face.
"I should call her.." he was frantically searching for your number.

Hoseok quickly intervened, his voice calm yet assertive. "No, Jungkook," Hoseok interjected, his hand gently restraining Jungkook's actions. "Don't call her."

"Why? Why won't you let me? Do you want to keep her for yourself?"

He sighed deeply as he heard the frustration and accusations in Jungkook's words. "No..." Hoseok's voice was firm, but carried a hint of exhaustion. "I just think that calling her right now is not a good idea. You need to calm down a bit."

Hoseok's expression remained calm, his gaze fixed on Jungkook. "You're not thinking clearly," Hoseok asserted. "If you try to call her now, you'll only end up saying something you regret." His words sounded sincere, but he couldn't reveal the real reason why he wanted to prevent Jungkook from calling you.

His conflicted expression betrayed his inner confusion, but eventually, he decided to be honest, even if not entirely. "I just... Don't want you to scare her off," Hoseok finally confessed, his voice tinged with a hint of concern.

"You're right.." Jungkook woke up from his freeness.
"Yes hyung.. I can't scare Yn again."

Hoseok nodded in agreement. "Exactly," he replied calmly. "You need to control yourself. You can't let your emotions overpower you and scare her away again." Hoseok's words carried wisdom and understanding, a reminder to Jungkook to keep his emotions in check and maintain his composure.

Hoseok felt a mix of anticipation and uncertainty as he waited for your text message. Days had passed since they had mentioned the birthday party for Mara and he had given you his phone number, but there had been no communication from your end. He couldn't help but feel a touch of disappointment, wondering if he had misunderstood the significance of the moment or if he was simply impatient.

A message popped up.
"Hey it's me, Yn. What about 3 days from today? Can we all meet? I'll make all the arrangements and send you the address."

The notification flashed up on Hoseok's phone, his heart leaping with excitement as he read the contents of the message. A smile played on his lips, and a wave of anticipation washed over him, as he realized it was you who had initiated the conversation, his fingers trembling with excitement.

Hoseok's fingers hovered over the screen for a moment, a smile still lingering on his face. Without hesitation, he began to type a response, his words flowing effortlessly.

His response was swift, his words flowing with a mix of eagerness and curiosity.
"Sure...I just need to let them know and we will come."

The next day you texted him an address. "See you all there. Dress nicely."

Hoseok gathered the attention of the other members, a mix of excitement and anticipation in his voice. "Guys, listen up."

As he spoke up, the members turned their attention towards him, sensing the importance of what he was about to say. They waited patiently, their curiosity piqued by the anticipation in Hoseok's tone.

"Yn gave us the address. She asked us to dress nicely," a smirk on his face.
"We need to behave properly. Especially you, Jungkook."

Jungkook, who had been silently listening to the conversation, found himself growing increasingly impatient. He had been expecting a text from you directly, but instead, you had chosen to contact Hoseok. A wave of disappointment and slight annoyance flickered across his face, his knuckles whitening as he clenched his fists tightly.

Namjoon, standing nearby, found his thoughts consumed by the prospect of seeing you once more. A mix of anticipation and nervousness crossed his face, his heart racing with a tinge of excitement. He had so many things he wanted to say, questions he wanted to ask, and words he wanted to express, but he knew that the time would come. He couldn't help but feel a sense of eagerness, knowing that they were all just a few days away from seeing you again.

Jimin, amidst trying to maintain his composure, couldn't help but be affected by Taehyung's dark gaze. His emotions boiled over, and he snapped at Taehyung, unable to contain his frustration any longer.

"Tae... Don't mess anything up. Yn asked to meet with us, but the past is the past. We can't force her to be with any of us."

Taehyung's expression remained unreadable, his eyes narrowing as he locked gazes with Jimin. His response was measured and firm, his voice steady.
"I won't mess anything up," Taehyung stated, his tone flat and cold. "I don't care if she wants to be with any of us. I'm not forcing her into anything."

Yoongi, who had been silently observing the situation, joined the conversation, his words tinged with a hint of concern. He glanced at Taehyung and then at Jimin before asking, "Are you sure? Things seem a bit complicated, with everyone having their own desires."

"I am sure, hyung. I know better now. I'll behave." Taehyung replied.

Yoongi nodded in acknowledgment, a sense of understanding passing between them. "Alright," he replied, his voice steady. "Just remember to keep your emotions in check. We don't want any misunderstandings or unnecessary conflicts."

Jin's sudden appearance caught them off guard, and his words echoed through the room. He reiterated, "Yn is only our friend, nothing more. We just need to behave like good boys and have fun with her friend."

Jimin and Taehyung, their voices blending together, whispered a response under their breath. "Friend... yeah, just friend." Words tinged with a hint of disappointment and unspoken desires.

Hoseok remained focused, attentively listening to the conversation as it unfolded. He had made a promise to you, and his resolve was firm. He silently repeated to himself, "No one will force you, and I will let you go back peacefully." His determination was unwavering, and he was resolute in honoring his pledge.

"Why did you promise that?" Namjoon rolled his eyes. "You know you can't manage them all.
Hobi, what are your intentions?"

Hoseok looked around at the members, his gaze meeting Namjoon's. He paused for a moment, choosing his words carefully. "My intentions are clear. I made a promise to Yn, and I intend to keep it. I won't let anyone force her into anything." His voice was firm, his expression resolute. He knew he had to navigate a delicate situation, but his commitment to upholding his promise was unshakable.

"I understand. I'll try to help you out. But know, if things end up being messy,it's not your fault."

Hoseok nodded, grateful for Namjoon's support.
"Thank you. I appreciate your help," he replied, his voice filled with sincerity. "But please remember, if things get complicated and messy, it's not solely on me. We're in this together."

"I know..." Namjoon whispers. "But can you blame any of us?"

Hoseok sighed, acknowledging the weight of the question. "No... I can't blame any of you," he responded quietly, his words carrying a hint of understanding. "We all have our own feelings, our own history."

Jin, unable to contain his excitement, had diligently transformed the other members into a group of extravagantly dressed individuals. Each member resembled a peacock, bedecked in a vibrant display of feathers and resplendent colors. Their outfits were the epitome of grandeur, each one a unique masterpiece, standing out like a vibrant peacock display.

"Hyung..." Jungkook and Jimin complained.
"I'm not sure dressing up nicely meant this... What the fuck," Taehyung was roaring.

Jin chuckled, completely immersed in his own fashion world. "Oh, come on now," he responded cheerfully, clearly amused by their reactions. "Dressing nicely doesn't mean playing it safe. We need to make a statement, my dear members."

Yoongi, his expression stern, voiced his discontent. "We look like clowns," he grumbled, his tone laced with annoyance. Jin, however, continued to relish in the situation, relishing every moment. "Ah, my dear members," Jin smirked, chuckling softly. "It's called fashion, my friends. We need to stand out, not blend in."

Hoseok, watching the banter unfold, could not suppress a smirk on his face. He chimed in, his voice filled with amusement, "Hey, come on, it's not that bad. Jin knows his fashion, trust him."

Namjoon spoke up, his voice tinged with slight concern. "You do know that Yn will probably kill us for these outfits, right?" he teased, his voice playfully hinting at the impending reaction from you.

Jin's face lit up with a confident smile as he gestured to his own face. "Look at this face. How could anyone say no to me, the world-renowned handsome face?" he proudly declared, his ego reaching new heights.

The members all chuckled, amused by Jin's self-proclaimed title. Hoseok shook his head, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Oh, Jin, your confidence never fails to amuse us," he teased, a smirk playing on his lips.

As the car arrived, the members reluctantly followed suit, resigned to their peacock makeover. Hobi and the rest of Bangtan stood outside, resembling a group of extravagant peacocks, ready to make an entrance at Mara's birthday party.
