Chapter 8
During the ride, I learned that he did lots of extracurricular activities like fencing - which I told him that I'd have to come by and watch one of his matches sometime. I told him a little about my life, like taking martial arts and some photography/art classes, or going out to the park to go and write stories.
"So, do you model much? I mean with my dad's company, I do a lot of shootings."
You answered shyly, "I do some from time to time when their limited edition collections, but I've been doing more than usual since I've moved."
Adrien smiled, "I'll ask my father if he could partner with your mom sometime, I'd love to model with you."
A small pink blush warmed your cheeks, "Me too. I've seen a lot of your pictures on the ad stands, it looks really good."
Adrien scratched the back of his neck shyly, "It's nothing, but -"
"Mr. Agreste, we've arrived at the school."
You flashed him a tired smile as you stepped out of the vehicle, "See you in class, Agreste."
You walked off before he could say anymore, pulling your hood up as you began to walk in, the rain steadily becoming a downpour only moments after you had walked inside. The trip was more detailed than normal, the "tip-tap"s of shoes of all different ways - deep and grounded like yours, or light and orderly like one of the teacher's heels. You noticed the color of the lockers, like how some were just seeing some discolor and small paint chippings on the edges from people who were a little rougher with the lockable cubbyholes. You arrived at your personal stash/horde, pulling out a red notebook for Language, your math homework for Geometry, and a small manila folder for this week's designer class containing my sketches of a superhero costume for the fantasy theme you were told to work with. You stashed a few sketching pencils into your knapsack for history - since it was pretty much all topics you already knew. Closing the door and locking it up, you headed to your homeroom for attendance.
Alya meet you at the door, running and nearly crashing into you from the wet floors causing her to slip and slide into the classroom, "Morning (Y/N)! Sorry!"
You plastered on a smile and waved it off as nothing, your voice was a little rough from crying last night and you didn't want attention.
Walking into the thankfully carpeted floor, you wiped your feet of the water and quickly headed to your seat before the bell rang for homeroom to start.
And if the morning couldn't get worse, there was Chloé - walking towards you in an overly cheery way that just screamed you're going to regret this.
"Hey~ (Y/N)... So I'm having a party at my daddy's hotel... and I'm going to personally invite you over and we'll be the Belles of the ball, so to speak," She started, "The theme is Miraculous Ladybug, so come in whatever superhero costume you want - even that new one if you feel like it. I've already sent an invite to them all asking for them to come - Not even Chat Noir could resist the chance. Of course, Adrien will be there, he's already promised that he'd be coming!" She handed me an envelope that smelled of almonds and honey.
A party? Seriously?
"I'll check with my schedule, if I find time after today's photo shoot, I'll pop in for a bit."
Chloe smiled cheerily - like I had just walked into her spider's web, "Oh, but you must come! Specially selected invitees have a second invite for after the party - only redeemable at my party. I'll be sure to stop by your shoot to give you my outfit's details - that way we can match! Sabrina's going Chat Noir themed."
Uuugh.... Insufferable people... Why now?
You let out a sigh, "I'll see you at the shoot then, I guess." You quickly found your seat beside the artistic boy Nathänel, who you had become somewhat acquainted with during science class yesterday. The teacher took attendance and handed out today's outline of the lesson, to which you read through quickly and dismissed, seeing that you designer class wouldn't be until fourth period - and that history was first period. Drowning out the teachers lecturing, you opened up your supposed Literature notebook and turned to a blank page. You first started out doodling out while in your thoughts, seeing nothing but circles and loops and swirls.
But as you looked at it, it started to look like Sorcha's miraculous, Tiger Eye. You started working on her outfit: a loose, one-sleeved crop-top covered in broad, dark tiger stripes, her shorts in black and fitting to her hips and legs. Her shoes were like formfitting flats, tied with thick leather string like a gladiator's sandal up to just below her knees. Her mask covered the top half of her face, her eyes a deep gold cat-eye. The ears on her head were pinned into her deep brown-black hair. You colored in the shading, her suit a bronze-orange against her deeply tanned skin.
In her hands she held a silk scarf that could morph into almost anything: it could harden into a rock-hard steeled edge, become elastic, fold, bend, twist, whatever she needed. By the time you had almost finished, the history homework had arrived in the school inboxes and you were sent to read silently while the next teacher arrived. You signed your signature at the corner of her shoe, adding a small little heart under the fancy underlining.
A voice had drawn you out of your thoughts, "Wow, (Y/N) - That is quite the impressive design."
You looked up, your lip trembling a bit as you saw what you had made - a memory of your time seeing Sorcha's first transformation.
"I saw it in a dream, nothing else." you lied, shoving back the oncoming tears and gaining back your composure.
Again, you didn't feel like having an in-depth conversation about loosing your friends to a masked terror.
That comment seemed to have gotten to the tomato child, and he went back to sketching his little comic of saving Marinette - who already knew about his little schoolboy crush.
The next two periods went by smoothly, having minimal trash talking from Chloé, silence from Alya and Marinette, and homework filled out and sent in.
But I was safe to say that by fourth period... your mood had fouled considerably by the time it was lunch.
Flashback to an Hour Before Outburst
"Alright class, it's time to reveal your design for your fantasy theme! As you know, I assigned you the task to create a sci-fi or fantasy outfit that pertains to your style and imagination. I expected grand ideas, now let's see what you got!" The teacher said.
