Chapter 9

You smiled calmly, a simple mask of contentedness.

But the masque of a Serpent is always the hardest to see through - and when it came to your acting skills, it was as solid as stone.

How DARE that vile, thieving, - dare you say it - Snake-like snob steal YOUR design?!

you had the sketch colored to perfection:

The ivory-green and deep brown two-piece biker suit that you had literally spent FOREVER on had been copied - plagiarized, bismerched!

That girl would know what "Green with envy" would really look like if you transformed and let Serpent Vert have at her-

Mentally taking a breath, you counted to ten before you really did do something regrettable.

You made sure to be the first to present your design - adding in the fact that you had both gray scale and colored editions penned in American Cursive.

Glancing at Chloé's shocked face, you knew that you had claimed checkmate for this battle.

But little did you know that the mayor's precious daughter had other plans in store.

(Chloé's POV)

(A/N: oh boy... This won't end well...)

That little-!

I silently let out a small groan of annoyance. But I won't let it get the best of me. I have to play nice with her to get what I need.

Besides, Sabrina will give me her's anyway - like the good little "friend" she is.

Eventually - Thank God - classes had finished for the day. After my Daddy's chauffeur drove me to the park, I stalk- I mean searched for my darling Adrien. He mentioned that he had a photo shoot today, and if anyone was going to be helping out - it was going to be ME.

Sabrina was watching out for me at the fountain - spotting the photographer.

A small text on my ~brand new~ phone had me casually sashaying to my boyfriend-to-be.

Only to see (Y/N) walking with him!

"Oh! (Y/N)! What a coincidence to be seeing you here! Walking home?" I said cheerily.

(Y/N) looked at me confused for a few seconds before laughing softly, "As much as I'd love to - my mother and Mr. Agreste have had a contract for a joined fashion line. I'm doing a small shoot with Adrien as a promotional."

WHAT?!

I hid my surprise, passing it off with a laugh.

"Maybe I can help? I'm sure I can make sure you look fabulous for it! I am your mom's biggest fan anyway," I suggested.

"I'm afraid your a tad too late, Chloé. Marienette beat you to it back after class. I'd be more than happy to see your outfit for this evening if you're not too busy though."

I pulled out my phone and sent her a picture of my Ladybug-inspired outfit, a masterpiece really.

A new plan formed in my mind, to finally get rid of competition for Adrien.

I had Daddy's chauffeur drive me home - it was time for action.

(Reader's POV)

You walked around the park, admiring the cool air across your face.

After what happened at school, you really needed to cool off.

Adrien had asked if you could get the photo shoot out of the way - since he had already told Chloé he was attending her party.

Being the person you are, you agreed - and had mistakenly walked through a cataclysmic mess of dress and makeup and hair.

Now you were walking in black, slightly pinching, heeled booties; dark blue skinny jeans; a leaf-patterned pastel green crop-top; and a black leather jacket.

Not to mention that you felt like the small amount of blush, eyeshadow, mascara, and lipstick felt suffocating.

You didn't dare touch your hair - the way they had braided and sprayed whatever-it-was on it made you feel like it had turned to glass.

You turned to Adrien, and blushed pink.

He was staring... And you were hopelessly stuck on your current spot in nervousness.

"Well - You look amazing, (Y/N)..." He complimented.

I took a quick look at him - dressed in a similar fall fashion - except he looked much more, well - handsome.

"Looks like we both clean up well. You certainly look good." You say, fidgeting with your bracelet.

The photographer pulled you two to a tree with beautiful yellow and red leaves, having Adrien lean against it on one side, and you on the other. He posted you again with you both sitting and your head on his shoulder. Then it was the two of you holding hands and walking through the leaves. Finally -

"No, no, no... You two must look romantic! This is the combination of two fashion powerhouses! It's only natural for there to be two Star-Crossed lovers in Paris," the photographer complained.

You didn't who blushed more - but you're pretty sure it was a pretty close tie.

You tried to say something, but soon enough you were positioned like you were dancing by the fountain, Adrien dipping you like at the end of a romantic dance. His hand was on the small of your back, his forehead on yours with a small smile on his face.

The photographer snapped furiously and finally ended the shoot, allowing you to untangle your limbs from the blonde boy's.

He looked like he needed to say something, but then turned away.

Before thinking too hard about it, you ran off with a quick "Goodbye!" Before Sider could constrict you to ribbons.

You were in So much trouble now....
