Six
After everyone calmed down from being tickled, Deca rose from the bed. "I'm bringing pancakes." He said, "be back soon." He leaned over each of them and kissed them both on the head.
Hunter felt his cheeks would be red if he'd been in his human form. He felt something toward Deca, and his caring ways. He glanced over at CJ who got the same kiss, and even bumped his nose against Deca. The red headed shifter pulled away with a smile before leaving the room.
If he'd given them both a kiss, and Hunter was sure the kiss had only been friendly between CJ and Deca, did that mean that the larger shifter only saw him as a friend too?
He didn't realize he was literally folded into himself until CJ pushed into his feelers. "What's wrong?" The blond shifted back, and brought Hunter onto his lap. He'd always wanted to be held like this.
What's pancakes? I've never had them. He asked, it wasn't a lie, he didn't know what they were. He'd always hunted for his food.
CJs eyes were wide. "They're delicious." He said, stroking Hunter's course fur. "They're sweet and sticky, and so good. Deca's are the best I've ever had."
He's made you pancakes before? He huffed. As a friend? Hunter didn't know how to ask what he wanted to know.
"Yes, he makes food for his friends all the time." He frowned as he looked down at Hunter. "Hunter, do you not want Deca to make you food as a friend? He's a really nice guy, I think you two should be friends."
Hunter moved all eight of his eyes, trying to not look at the capybara. It's not that. He sighed, I do like him as a friend, but also more than a friend. He was grateful again that spiders couldn't show their blushes.
CJ blinked as he tried to understand Hunter's rambles. "Oh! You really like Deca?" The spider nodded. CJ thought for a moment, "I've never seen him with anyone before. I don't think he's in any kind of romantic relationship." Hunter leaned forward, hiding his face behind his front legs. CJ! He squeaked.
"What did CJ do?" Deca leaned in, an apron smeared with batter over his pajama bottoms, blocking off his gorgeous chest that could make Hunter drool. It was hard to tell behind his shades, but he was giving CJ a hard look.
Nothing Hunter blurted, tearing his eyes from Deca's front.
"Okay," he said, unconvinced. "I couldn't decide regular or chocolate chips. And, of course Ame and Doc woke up while I was trying to decide. And Doc demanded scrambled eggs and bacon. So," he pointed a finger between the guys. "I need you two shifted and downstairs to help me cook everything, because it's turned into a family breakfast."
CJ nodded, and Hunter bobbed his middle in a nod as Deca left. Both guys looked at each other, "Careful, Doc's grouchy before coffee."
