Two
Music thumped through everything causing Hunter to flex his legs in and press closer to the figure holding him. It helped, but not enough. "Sorry, Cyan," he walked to the door, closing it with a soft click. It stopped all sound from the music, "you're safe here."
Hunter knew that name, knew that voice, and everything came back to him. He jumped awake trying to smack the guy with a long leg. It bounced off harmlessly, the guy chuckling. "You don't scare me," He said, holding Hunter at arms length, and looking over his sunglasses. Sunglasses he still wore in a dimly lit room. Hunter opened his mouth, and rubbed his legs together again to hiss, patches of fur bristling; it only got another laugh. "You're cute." Hunter felt his mouth drop open having never been called something like that. He was set on a cold metal table. He danced from foot to foot, not liking the cold. "Someone needs to work on that leg," he cleared his throat, and a woman was suddenly there. Hunter jumped into the man's arms, not liking someone so close.
"You can hold him if you like," the woman had a cold professional voice, "but hold him tight, this will be an amputation, Deca."
Hunter didn't know why he pressed into the man, maybe it was that word, he feared it even if it meant less to him than it would a human.
Deca nodded, wrapping strong arms around Hunter. Careful! He said, all his eyes locked on the arms around his middle, I'm soft.
Deca chuckled, "I know."
Hunter looked away as the doctor injected him with something that made him go loose. Then took out a scalpel. He squeaked once in shock as he felt himself start bleeding down his body, but nothing else.

Hunter woke up in a soft bed, in his human form. Tears entered his eyes as he saw his left arm. The lower left arm was gone, so he knew a whole leg in his other form had to be removed. He curled up on bed, feeling hatred for the human that had hurt him.
The bed dipped, and Hunter looked up to see the same man. "They don't mean it." He said, scratching his nose. "It's called a phobia. They're scared of us without even knowing why."
Hunter curled tighter into himself his arm throbbing. "I'll get you some medicine. This is your room as long as you want." He stood, looking over his shoulder. He still wore the dark shades, and Hunter was so curious what his eye color was. "No one will bother you."
*That's chapter two. Poor Hunter. But maybe Deca will make him feel loved?
