Chapter seven
"Hey," I heard someone said behind me as we were "exploring" the forest.
I turned and yeesh! There stood a Greek god. He is the perfect definition of glorious beauty. Beauty is an understatement anyway. He's surely very pale, and had a black hair that was trimmed neatly at the sides. He had brown eyes and an oval shaped face with jaws that could easily cut through papers. He was a bit taller than me and had very smooth skin. He wore a black leather jacket and tight jeans trousers.
Uh oh, I was staring and that's rude.
"Um.... H-hi" I stammered as the cold wind hit my skin mercilessly. I was especially disappointed in the weather. It looked so sunny and warm in the morning I dressed like it and now bone aching winter wind.
"I'm Brandon." He said and yeesh this boy is perfect. He has so smooth and musical velvety voice. I'm not that kind that loves anything to do with boys but.......
"I-I um.... I'm Hailey" I stuttered. Hailey, pull yourself together! I screamed at myself.
"Nice name" He smiled making him look unbelievably gorgeous.
"Y-yeah, you too" I answered. And he smiled again. Please, please can you stop smiling? It's doing a lot of harm to me.
"Are you having fun?" He asked. Oh no a Greek god like you shouldn't be so dumb. Where's the fun here, in a forest?
"Fun? Obviously not. I'm praying for 3pm so we could go back in." I said as we started walking towards the rest of the students. We walked in silence first and then continued talking when the weather became warm again and the clouds are shifting away from the sun to make it shine.
"I'll see you around" He said suddenly and went away. I didn't know why I felt sad when he left. Hailey, you're breaking some rules. My subconscious warned.
I've told myself, actually promised myself I'm gonna be a feminist. Totally having nothing to do with boys. I did that when Sav's boyfriend Liam cheated on her and even tried raping her. He nearly succeeded but thanks to Berny and I.
I sighed and went back to where I was before Brandon brought me here with his sweet velvety voice.
I went into the woods as the sun continued shining. Sheesh, it should ease off a bit, my arms are burning.
I sat on a log as a thought hit me.
"Gillian Anders" I muttered. According to my search, the school was handed over to her and her cousin in 1980. Why is she still alive? Vampires live for thousands of years. That theory flashed in my mind. No she can't be that. She has no claws or fangs or too sharp protruding tooth. She can't be a vampire.
I stood to leave as I heard the sound of a siren signalling the end of our so called exploration. I stood to leave when I stumbled and fell. My hands fell on something a bit sharp. I stood up and took a closer look at whatever it was. It was a bone.
"Are you gonna sleep there?" I heard someone called. I ran and joined the rest of the students as we went back to the school.
I slapped myself on my bed and shut my eyes. I'm so exhausted. I rolled out of bed and grabbed my toiletry bag and headed to the bathhouse filled with too curious eyes.
I snuck into the library the next day. I had Literature, but what's the point of staying in class reading the book I've already read when I should be in the library trying to figure out something? Thank goodness, Mr Brown never noticed my presence this time. Who haven't read Pride and Prejudice before?
I entered the library and spot Miss Gillian sitting at a table.
I greeted her and she smiled at me as if we were buddies since birth. Her beauty is a topic for another day.
I rushed to my usual seat taking the book along with me and quickly opened to where I'd stopped the last time.
*Vampires have icy cold skin and a white pale complexion.
* Vampires have an unusual beauty which drives preys to them.
Their beauty is beyond measures and they naturally have a sweet velvety musical ringing voice.
*They move in great speed sweeping the wind with them. They can move 1000 miles in a second.
* They have the ability to compress hard objects with a normal touch.
* Vampires that leave among human, resists the sun. They don't go out when it's sunny because they believe, some are killed by the sun. Meanwhile, most of them resist the sun because it makes their skin glows. When in the sun, tiny particles of diamond invades their skin. They do avoid being in the sun to keep their identity a secret.
* Vampires don't perform human activities like sleeping, eating or drinking. What they feed on is animal blood.
Vampires have no veins whatsoever. They don't have a heart since everything had freeze in their body giving them an icy cold skin.
Vampires have very attentive ears. They could hear the heartbeat of any animals around. It's this ability that makes them track their preys easily.
Some vampires have different gifts. Some have the gift of seeing clearly into the future.
While others can read people's minds provided they are around.
Some have the ability to ease up tension in a room. Others could torment with their eyes or just a smile.
Other vampires use their minds as a shield for others to protect them from other vampires that torment with their eyes.
All this gifts varies from each vampire.
My mind was fuzzy and I was shocked. Pale white and smooth skin, ringing voice, speed, strength, and inability to stay in the sun.
Everything flashed in front of me as the whooshing sound from the forest played back. Surely there are vampires in this school.
Amber. Goose bumps filled my skin as I looked at the book with my mouth opened.
I don't know about this chapter but what do you think? What should Hailey do since she realized that apparently, her friend is a vampire as well. Thanks for reading this far. Thanks for being there to read so my work won't be in vain.
Love y'all❤❤😍😍
