{Chapter 4} Mini Ovation

I have been dancing with Alex since I was 10. We preform every duet together and today is no different. I would lying if I said I was never attracted to him because when we dance things can get pretty intense but he turned gay a couple of years back so now we are just really close friends.

We both were waiting behind the curtains nervously as we got in our last stretches. I don't care how many times I have preformed; I will always get nervous in the wings. Alex reaches over and squeezes my hand to ease my nerves and I give him a shaky smile.

"Now from the Dance New Amsterdam studio, that's right here in New York, we have Madison Cambell and Alex Valdo preforming Wicked Games.

My heart is pounding in my ears as me and Eric walk onto the stage. I take that time to gather my emotions. To try an feel like I'm fighting me desires. The dance is about a girl that keeps falling for a player so I allow my inner emotions to come forth. Willing my face reveal my pain and longing and my body to exude grace.

The music starts I began to feel Alex's hands on me but as I close my eyes to imagine he is Theo. The Theo that I liked before he merged into this being that I dont recognize.

Alex begans to throw me in the air and the years of trust we have built is evident in how comfortably we dance together. The dance passes in a blur. I jump and twirl into his arms and he catches me mid-air. He lays me down and I make my last attempt to get away from him but in the end I'm a stupid lamb and he's the sick masochistic lion.
(High five to anyone who can guess that reference)

After the performance everything around me went void. I saw people talking but it meant nothing to me as I rushed twords the restroom to cry.

I allow the tears to fall with the excuses that this is my last good-bye to the feeling I have twords Theo. Tears shouldn't be wasted on such mediocre things as this but at the moment I feel my tears are well deserved.

He was my first and only boyfriend. He had me hooked but to him I was worthless fish not worthy to be on his line. He helped me fall but didn't care enough to catch me. I was stupid and naive. Either he always had a evil glint behind his icy blue eyes or the cruelty of life put it there while I remained unaware.

After I cried my last tear, I wiped it away along with any sentiments I had twords him. I willed my mind to go blank to block out the thoughts that has been making me so emotional.

When I got out the restroom the trio, and their parents were waiting for me. They started clapping and whistling once they seen me and I made a show of dramatically bowing for them.

"You did great sweety." My dad said while kissing me on my forehead.

"Good thing that fellow you were dancing with was gay or else I have a feeling more than crying would be happening in that restroom." Mrs.White said.

We all meet up at the nearest Chinese restaurant and Mr.Micheals was still riled up.

"Gay, or not. I'm not about to allow her to roll around the floor with some boy. For all we know he could be faking." He debated with no one inparticular.

"Just chill pops." Asher said his plate almost finished.

"See that's what's wrong with society today. To much chilling and not enough working. I bet your brains have froze over." Mr.Michaels continued.

I started to drown him out as I looked over to Matt. He was picking around at his food but it didn't appear as if he had eaten any.

"You okay, Matt?" I tired to keep my voice low but somehow the whole table heard me.

"Yea, what's up with you? You haven't said anything since Maddi danced." Theo said.

And that's how the whole table started making absurd guesses as to why he was quiet.

"Haven't gotten laid in a month."

"Girlfriend broke up with you."

"You got a STD."

"Your favorite show was canceled."

"You forgot your flat irons on at home."

Everyone stopped to stare at my mom.

"What?" She said defensively. "You think his hair naturally stays that way. I used to flat iron it for him in the tenth grade."

The table burst out laughing as he turned a deep shade of red.
