Chapter 24
Here it is, chapter 24! Hope you enjoy it!
The small ball floated over to the front of the box, facing directly a Freddy. Down below, on Earth, the feed was being transmitted all over the world, on every device with a screen, to all the world leaders.
Freddy cleared his throat before he started talking. "Greetings. You may know me as the one they sent to... to... find a missing ring. And, I am also the one whom Flasheart had as an... offspring, with one of your own" Freddy spoke, but his tone wasn't very confident. He realiased this quickly as he glanced down. "No, that not it. I am the one Flasheart and Jessica made out of love. I may not know much of it, but I do know that love... love is powerful. And... I now realise it's what kept my father going all these years." Freddy continued, a bit more confident, Flasheart looking leftwards at him, a proud smile growing on his face, the others besides him also watching. "I have seen and learnt so much since I came to this planet. I was hoping it would just be quick, but no. I have seen and learned a lot about your planet and your people, and my eyes have been opened. To my emotions, to humanity, to life, and to love. I see all of that in my father, I saw it in the flashbacks with him and Jessica, I see it in these people who came up here with us, and I see it in all of you. I have learned that I am... of two worlds. But you know what? I'm okay with that. In fact, I accept it. Why? Because it's who I am, part Human, part Weren. I returned to this planet unsure of myself, but now, I feel whole. I am a Weren, I am a Human, I am a son of a human, that means I am one of you, and I am proud to be! Now, you may not know me, but I know Hotspur. Hotspur means to destroy you, not by violence, by your weaknesses. Your divisions. Your distrust. Not just in yourselves, but those around you. These with me, they came with me because... it was the right thing to do. It was their choice. And now you all have a choice. To be Human. To stand as a species against this peril from the stars. You are no longer strangers to each other. You are all one family, standing under the dark clouds. What will you tell your children? What will they tell theirs? 'We could've saved some people, kept them safe from the storm, but our pride held us back.'" Freddy continued, now getting more and more confident. "Put aside your differences, not your yourself, not for today, not the past, but for those around you, to tomorrow. Make alliances, help each other out. Stand shoulder to shoulder as one people of one world in this beautiful universe. And should the worst befall on you, to us, then we shall go down together into the darkness. But, if we get out of our bubble, then we shall emerge out to a new world. Divided, we fall into the ocean. United, we stand on the land, and we will survive, as Humans!" Freddy concluded.
At the moment he finished, cheers erupted across the world, especially in the squares filled with people who had watched it. And quite a few world leaders clapped as well, having listened on their devices/TV's. Clapping also came from the rest of the group, including Flasheart. And some of the Weren crew, the box having translated the speech into their language, stared at it with inspired expressions, among them Cherry and Garth. Some had expressions stone, having not been moved by it at all, especially Hotspur and Ric. Hotspur laughed sarcastically as he clapped his hands a few times. "Ohhh, wow, wow, wow, I am so inspired." Hotspur said back mockingly as he laughed as the clapping died down. Hotspur then stared forwards at the box, the small ball turning around rightwards to face him. "You really think they're going to listen to you, a boy from another world?" Hotspur asked coldly. "There is all the hope that they did." Jai said back, to which Hotspur sneered. "Get them out of here. The Fangen will be spared, they can join the rest of the survivors when we're done here. The offspring and the traitor will stay, their fate my decision." Hotspur ordered, four soldiers marching towards the box. "You may be clones, but you're still living individuals! You don't always have to follow orders! You can make you're own choices!" Jai yelled at them as they began pushing the box out of the room. "You're supposed to be an honourable species! Where's the honour in this!?" Paul yelled out to all the Weren crew as the doors closed, some staring towards them as they closed. Once the doors closed Hotspur laughed out. "Waste of energy, that's what they did." Hotspur spoke before turned around rightwards and walked towards the viewport. "Thank Roland Emmerich for this." Hotspur whispered to himself as he pressed the red button with his right index finger, many eyes looking to watch.
The machine closest to the fleet the lit up red, and other ones lit up red, then fired down yellow beams down to the Earth. One went right down to the ground, spreading a yellow ripple across the world, turning the worlds hydrocarbons (oil, coal, natural gas) into rock in an instant. That beam also disabled all satellites in orbit, as well as the World Wide Web. One over South America went down to the ground, and around the area of impact, the trees and lush vegetation of the Amazon began to regrow where it had either been burned or cut down, as well in all the other rainforests of the world. One beam went down into the atmosphere, letting out a ripple every few seconds, each time reducing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. But the rest of the machines began causing chaos. As soon as the beams over the major continents went down over its area, they began forming dark clouds which rapidly grew, blocking out the sun, very fast winds almost instantly blowing, underneath in several different locations was caused, plunging temperatures and snowfall, lightning bolts striking all over the places many times a second, massive category 5 hurricanes started to form out at sea, moving rapidly close to land, tornados began forming all over the place that grew in size and ferocity. In coastal area, the waves began to intensify.
Back in the box, which was being moved down the corridor, Freddy and the others (minus Flasheart and Harry) were banging their hands repeatedly against the glass, or running up to the glass, hoping the break it. But Harry just sat down on the floor with Flasheart. "My men tried that to no avail." Harry spoke out. "Yeah, there's no way for us to break that glass." Flasheart added. "No! We can't just give in, you cowards!" Sara cried out as she bashed the glass with her head. The pushing Weren soldier on her outside let out a groan like sound and then pressed a small black button in the right edge upper corner with its left index finger, letting out electricity from the corners of the box, hitting them all, making them scream for a few seconds before they all fell silently onto the ground. The rest of the soldiers stopped pushing to look inside at what just had just happened. The soldier on the right of the soldiers who pressed the button looked leftwards at him. "Those weren't our orders." The soldiers spoke in Weren. "Don't worry, they are only unconscious, not dead. Their banging noises were really irritating." The soldiers who pressed the bottom said back in Weren as they continued pushing the box down the corridor.
And that's chapter 24 done! Hope you enjoyed it! Please leave a vote!
Sorry if it's short, but couldn't really think be bothered to write any more for this chapter.
The machines in orbit with beams and the affecting the weather stuff was inspired by the movie "Geostorm" (2018) and the 'Operation Cinder' part from the "Star Wars Battlefront 2" game (I never played it, but watched the cutscenes on YouTube).
Sorry if the speech was a bit long, and at moments seemed a bit odd, but I did my best. When I planned this scene, it was better in my mind, but I forgot that picture (due to brain rot, as I've been at home looking for jobs for months). I really wish now I've written it down!
