Chapter 5

Here it is, chapter 5! Hope you enjoy it!

Freddy followed the girl called Sara (the case still in her hand) down the street, the thief hit on his tail. "Slow down, you punks!" He yelled out at them both. "You're a punk!" Sara yelled back at him, looking over her right shoulder as she ran. Then she suddenly came upon a black bin in front of a driveway and stopped by it, turned around leftwards and grabbed it with her left hand and tipped it over, the waste inside pouring out onto the pavement, before she started running again. Freddy, barely just noticing in time, jumped over the waste, landing just past it, and kept going, looked over her left shoulder to see Freddy past the pile of waste, the thief nearly at the pile. Sara then came upon the end of the road and turned leftwards, Freddy's eyes on her, just as the thief jumped over the waste, but the jump wasn't big enough and so his feet landed on the bin bag at the end of the pile and caused him to stumble and fall backwards into the pile, yelling out in disgust.

Freddy turned leftwards, and stopped a second later to see Sara running a bit of a distance down the road. Standing still and silently for a few seconds, Freddy looked down at his bare feet and then looked rightwards across the road to see no one and then over his right shoulder to see no one. So he got down on all fours, not minding at all the dirty feeling on his hands and then started running fast on all fours. Further down the road, Sara slowed down to look over her right shoulder to see Freddy running on all fours towards her, like an animal. He ran so fast that he was already halfway across the street. "What the...?" She spoke in surprise as she came to a halt just as Freddy came upon her, and before she could react, he leapt forwards, kicking himself forwards and off the ground a bit by his legs, arms out, and hit her, his arms going past her arms as his head impacted her in the stomach, causing her to fall backwards into onto her back. She dropped the case as she fell and she then grabbed the Freddy's upper arms with her hands and began wrestling his arms, Freddy over her but kept his hands still, just moving his arms in reaction to hers. "What are you?" She asked to no response. "What are you?" She repeated a bit louder when she got no answer as Freddy then rolled his body leftwards, making her now over him for a moment, but her weight was too much much and so she rolled over onto her back again, Freddy over her, but he suddenly widened his eyes with an idea, and so he rolled himself again, but making sure she still had momentum, so she kept rolling into the gap in the bushes as he jerked his left arm arm free and grabbed the case and pulled it it as quick as the wind. A moment later, the thief came around the corner, looked down the street and saw nothing. "Ah, bollocks." He moaned to himself as he'd lost them and so he turned around leftwards and ran forwards across the road and headed in a straight line up the street.

Freddy (holding Sara against the wooden door in the gap, the case held by his teeth, his left hand covering her mouth) sniffed and used focused on his hearing to make sure there was no one coming down the street. He then removed his hand from her mouth, watching gasp for a moment and then gag a moment and show out her tongue briefly. "What are you doing?!" She yelled loudly, causing Freddy to cover her mouth again, whilst shushing. "Quiet, please." He spoke softly and muffled from the case, and a few seconds later, he removed his hand, making her gasp a second, before she looked straight at him, as he grabbed the case, moved his arms down and placed the case between his legs, moving them closer together, holding it in between them. "Who are you?" She asked, a lot more quietly and calmly this time. "My name is Freddy. From the stars. And you?" He answered/asked back. "I'm Sara. From Spain... and Bristol." She answered hesitantly. "Hmm, definitely no need for the translator." Freddy muttered to himself as Sara then glanced down at the case. "What you got in there?" She asked, still looking at it. "Why do you ask? And why did you try to steal it from me, why are you being a...a...?" He asked her back, unsure how to find the last word. "Jerk?" She asked for him, to which he nodded in response. "Uh...you got Anything valuable in there?" Sara then asked, to which Freddy's face raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Look, I'm sorry that I have to steal, but that's the life of a... someone like me. Only way I can survive." She answered, shaking her head and holding out/up her hands a bit as she spoke. "By taking other people's stuff? Don't you understand honour?" Freddy asked back. "Honour? What does honour have to do with this? Anyway, back to the point, what have you got in there?" She asked him, in an irritated tone. "Only, uh,.. essential stuff for me." He answered, which was kind of true. "Then why do you hold it like you life depends on it?" She asked, and before Freddy could open his mouth, they heard a creaking noise behind behind Sara as the door she was being held against suddenly gave away, causing her to fall downwards, Freddy falling down forwards with her and the door, landing onto of Sara, the door having landed on a stone patio and jutted out onto a patch of grass. "Get off me... you... you...weirdo!" She snarled at him as he got up on his feet and grabbed the case with his left hand and looked ahead as Sara rolled over rightwards and got herself up on her arms and legs to see where they were.

They were in a grass garden surrounded by hedges outside a two storey building that had clearly seen better days. There were stone pathways out across the grass with a few benches. On the nearest bench, facing them was Paul, who was reading a newspaper, Jai in his wheelchair on his left, staring out at the trees at the other side of the garden. Paul looked up to see them, raising an eyebrow in response, closing his newspaperand putting it aside with several others as he stood up and stepped up to them. "Hmm, I ain't seen you two around here before." He spoke, staring straight at Freddy and Sara, gesturing with his left hand to come to him, his hand then twitching at he moved it by his side. Unsure what to do, Freddy nervously stepped forwards, holding his right arm around Sara's right arm, dragging her with him, ignoring her attends to get out of his grip, as they came upon the two men, Sara nervous, and looking away, trying not to draw attention. "Uh... may the moon shine upon you?" Freddy greeted in a nervous way. Jai stared up at them, then moved his head leftwards to face Paul, who at him for a moment before looking back at them as he sat back down his legs shaking. "If you're crazy, and by crazy, I do mean insane, and your family's dumped you to die, then you're in the right place. Welcome to the world most shitty care home." Paul scoffed. "And... most... spooky." Jai mumbled slowly, causing Sara to turn to look at him with a confused look. "Spooky? Spooky how?" She asked them. "Noises. Echoes In the dark, at night, in the light of day. In the drains. In the blocked off basement, which no one has been to in years, maybe decades. We hear the sounds of growling, clanking and breathing. And sometimes at nice, we see a strange blueish glow throw the gaps in the door. The locals think this place is haunted. That's no one comes here, not even family. And it also means we don't get any new staff. And the staff that do work are idiots enough and way past their prime." Paul explained, when suddenly they heard a strange sound coming from one of the drain hole by the outside water tap, a sound of growling, which made Sara and Freddy's hair stand up (goosebumps), Sara leaning into Freddy's right side with a scared expression, Paul also looking scared too, despite being used to it. And a few seconds later, the growling stopped. "Never stops scaring, it does." Paul spoke as Sara got off Freddy.

Sniffing his nose a moment, Freddy, noticing something in the smell, narrowed his eyes and walked over towards the drain. Sara then looked the two men. "Can I ask you a question?" She asked them. "Yes. And if it's our names, I'm Paul, he's Jai." Paul said, pointing his left index finger at Jai, the finger shaking, Sara noticing. "Sara. What's the matter with you guys to end up in a place like this?" She asked with interest. "Parkinson's Disease." Paul answered sadly. "MND." Jai spoke softly, Sara narrowing her eyes to think. "MND, MND...oh! Isn't that the one where your body basically stops working?" She asked, her eyes and mouth wide upon realisation. "Yes, in a way. Motor Neurone Disease. Basically, The signals from the brain that controls your body movement are disrupted." Paul explained with a nod. "It's working fast. I have a year, two if I'm lucky." Jai mumbled out sadly. "And your family's just dumped you here?" Sara asked them, confused. "It was the only care home they could afford to put us in, especially in Jai's case. Besides, because of all of this, we'd not have much of an improvement somewhere else." Paul said, gesturing to the newspapers. Sara looked downward/leftwards at them to see the headlines. "ON THE BRINK OF WAR? TENSIONS ACROSS EUROPE, THE MIDDLE EAST AND ASIA." Said The Times. "GOVERNMENT SHORT OF MONEY FROM LOW TAXES." Said The Guardian. "INTERNATIONAL CRISIS DEEPENS!" Said The Daily Telegraph. "COST OF LIVING CRISIS, WORLD OVER." Said The Sun. Freddy stood by the drain, sniffing the smell, which was still there, coming from underground. Somehow, it felt familiar to his brain, like he'd smelt it before. And something inside him was telling him that he should find out what it is.

And that's chapter 5 done! Hope you enjoyed it, please leave a vote!

Those newspaper headlines, which forget to add in a newspaper stand last chapter, to help understand things later on in this story, are based from how things are at the moment in the world, and the future is unknown and unsure, which at the moment which sometimes doesn't make me feel much hopeful.

Sorry if it's short, but at the moments now, I'm doing this part of the story as I go along. I have it more planned out later, but for now, just do what I can think of.
