Chapter 37
Luke's POV
I was walking around the pool. It was early. I always did this these days. It was just for thinking. Thinking about her. I knew she was here. In LA. And it had been so hard to stay away from her. But Michael and Calum told me it was for her best that I did. Calum walked in. He came from their place. And he was early. It was like 6 am. I walked over to him. He was actually smiling.
"Why're you home so early?" I asked him.
"Oh, man. If you only knew!" he told me with a big smile.
"Tell me then?"
"Okay, man. So Christina went out tonight and Sarah was so worried. Because Chris doesn't know the city that very well. But she went out with her dance thing and she just came back like an hour ago. And we stayed up, like parents. When she stumbled in, drunk if I may add, she was all sass. It was amazing to see!" he said. His eyes twinkled. He really had enjoyed that. "And now she's on the bathroom floor because the girl can't keep her liquor!"
So she got drunk, with her friends. I would've liked to see that. See her being sassy. That would've been amazing. But here I was. The idiot I was.
Suddenly Cal realised who he had told.
"I'm sorry.." he told me. "I didn't mean to.."
"It's nothing man", I reassured him.
He walked upstairs and I walked outside again. I put my legs over the edge and they ended in the water. It was so cool. It was already hot here. I liked it, it reminded me of Sydney a lot. I just stared out across the water. I knew what I needed. I ran upstairs and knocked on Michael's door.
"Whaaaaaaaat?" he asked after the fourth time I knocked.
"Wanna go to the beach later?" I asked him.
"Yeah, whatever man, let me sleep you nuthead."
I needed to have some downtime with my homie. Man, I was getting really black. I needed to have some free time, soon.
====
After a while Michael got up, it was close to noon. I watched him while he got ready for the beach.
"We need to establish some boundries. No knocking on my door at 6 am. Okay?" he asked me, looking all serious.
"Yeah, whatever Mikey.." I joked.
"I'm not joking. I need my sleep, man.."
"Fine!" I threw my hands up in the air.
"Where do you wanna go? Venice?" he asked me, knowing perfectly well I wanted to go there.
"Yes!"
And off we were. He was driving, since I still didn't have my license. I needed to get back to Aussie to get it. But we didn't have time for that right now. Michael drove like an old lady. And yes, that's the way he always drives. You'd expect differently from him, but no..
When we got there the parking lot was already almost full. But we found a spot. We got out and found a spot on the sand, near the sea. It was nice. And no one knew who we were. No one even cared. I layed down and we joked around some more.
And that's when I saw it. The worst thing I could ever see. Christina, finally, but with another guy next to her. They were laughing at something he said. And she really enjoyed what he had said, I could tell by the way her eyes smiled too. They walked over to a spot, not really far from us. I kept watching. I couldn't avert my eyes. They were glued to them. He shouldn't be there with her. I should. And she really looked good, being hung over and all. She looked better than ever before. The sun had bleached her already blonde hair a bit. Her eyes caught the light very well. Her body looked better than ever before. And the way it fit in that bikini, it was amazing. And she had a hat on too. A really nice one, made of straw. She looked like she didn't have a care in the world. She looked happy. Happy like when I made her smile. But now there was another boy. He caught me looking at them. I averted my eyes and put on my glasses. And I put on my snapback too. I didn't want her to see me.

Christina's POV
I was waiting at the car park when I saw him walking up to me. Getting up from that bathroomfloor had been the worst. But I felt better now. And I had made sure to look amazing. And I did, if I may add. I had my favourite bikini on and had my hat on. I loved it so much. I got it from Sarah. It was a welcoming present. And it fit me like a glove.
"Hello, stranger!" he said while hugging me.
I just smile and welcome the strange feeling of a little butterfly in my stomach.
"Hello! You haven't changed a bit!" I tell him. "Except for the clothes of course!"
He looked good. Trained abs. He was tanned and his brown hair looked really good in this light. He had shorts on and flip flops. It was cool to see a guy like that.
"Yeah! You too! You look so good!" he told me and then blushed. Like he had meant to say it in his mind.
"You too!" I say, feeling my cheeks burn.
We decide to walk over to an open place on the beach. We settle down and he said somehting really funny. I laughed so hard.
"Seriously! He just sat there, and said nothing! With the thing hanging on his face!" he told me. I only laughed harder. He had been telling me a practical joke they did with his best friend.
He was funny, but remind me never to mess with him. He knows the ugliest practical jokes ever. I would never want to be on that side of him.
"It's such a nice day", I tell him while taking my hat off and just leaning back against the sand. My hair brushing the sand. I was leaning on my elbows.
"Hey, you know that guy?" he asked me and I turned to look in his direction.
And that's when I saw it. Luke. Luke freaking Hemmings, just 5 feet away from me (figure of speech). He hadn't been this close ever since he walked out on me. And that's when I felt that sting again. My heart hurt again. Just seeing him. I just knew he had been looking. Just because he was fixing his snapback. He always did that when he was trying to be subtle. There was nothing subtle about this. He laid on his back. Leaning on his elbows, also. Trying not to look back at me. I just knew it. I almost ran to him.
"Oh, just someone I know", I told Will. "No one important."
"CHRISTINA HENDERSON!" I heard a familiar voice shout.
I looked in the direction the sound had came from and there was Mikey. I stood up and he ran towards me. Hugging me tightly.
"You didn't tell me you were going to the beach!" he screamed.
"You didn't tell me either!" I said while swatting his arm.
We just stood there looking at each other. Michael was my best friend, guy friend, in the whole world. He knew me so well and we had only known each other for three months. We talked every day.
"And who's this?" Michael asked me while eyeing Will.
"Michael, this is Will. Will, this is Mikey, my best friend in the whole world!" I squealed.
They shook hands.
"It's nice to meet you! I love meeting Christina's friends!" Will told Michael.
He turned to face me and put up and eyebrow. The one he had pierced. I just smiled and he did the same.
"Well, I have to get back, but we'll talk tonight, right?" Mikey asked and I nodded. He knew I would call him tonight.
"Wow, that was.. different", Will said.
"Yeah, Mikey is something else, but he is amazing." I was still smiling.
They stayed in the same spot and so did we. I took sideway glances at them. And I sometimes saw Luke looking back, and then turning his head quickly. I tried to enjoy this with Will. But he was making it so hard.

Luke's POV
"So who's he?" I asked Michael the second he got back.
"He's a friend. That's all I know!" he told me putting up his hands.
"Okay.. It seems that she likes him.." I told Michael.
He looked at them too and saw it too. It was breaking my heart. I couldn't stand this.
"Wanna get away?" he asked.
"Nope, I'm staying right here."
I spent the rest of the afternoon gawking at her. When she wasn't gawking at me. I knew she was. I had seen the look on her face when she recognised me. She had looked lost. Just as lost as I felt. I knew she still felt this. I needed to talk to her soon. If only the guy hadn't been there.

Christina's POV
We finally left when it was getting late. Will offered to drive me and I welcomed it. I couldn't walk on these legs. Seeing Luke was too much. It had made my brain go all mush. And therefor my legs wouldn't co-operate. Stupid limbs.
"So, you had fun today?" he asked me, looking at me while keeping his eyes on the road.
"Yeah! It was nice seeing you again!" I smiled my biggest smile at him.
"Wanna do this again, sometime?" he blushed, it was so cute.
"Yes, I want to."
He suddenly smiled. The biggest smile I had ever seen. My smile grew too.
When we got to my place he got out of the car to open my door.
"So this, was a date?" he asked me, shyly.
"Yes, I think it was.."
He then leaned it and kissed me and I let him. My hands went to his shoulders and I kissed him back. He pulled me against him and it felt good. But it didn't feel right. But it was better than not feeling at all. I did like it. He was a good kisser. We finally cut loose and just looked at each other. I just knew I had to be blushing.
"Wow.." he said while leaning his head against mine.
"Yeah.." I told him.
"I'll call you later?" he asked me while entertwining our fingers.
This all gave me butterflies.
"Yes.. Bye." I said while pecking him on the lips again.
"Bye." He let go and I went inside.
I went upstairs and Sarah was waiting for me.
"What the hell was that?" she yelled, happy.
"A kiss?" I said, smiling, like a dork.
"WOW!" and we jumped around like the teenage girls we were.
My phone vibrated and I picked up, not bothering to look who it was.
"HELOOOOOO?" I screamed.
"Can we talk?" I heard a familiar aussie accent say.
My heart dropped and all the blood drained from my face. Sarah was watching me and just staring. Gesturing for me to tell her who it was. I just blinked.
"Chris?" he asked again.
Hearing him saying my name like that again just made my heart race. Why was he doing this to me?
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked him, trying to make my voice sound even.
"Us.." He said, without hesitating. "Meet me at Venice beach at sunset."
Wow, he was commanding me?
"Please?" he asked, sweetly.
"Okay.."
I pressed the red telephone. I just stood there for a second.
"Well! Who was it?" Sarah asked, not being able to hold her curiosity back.
"Luke.." was all I could choke out.
"Oh no.. what did he want?" she asked.
"To meet.. I'm meeting him in a few.."
And there I was again. That same girl he had left behind.
