Chapter 6
By the time anyone noticed, it had already become routine.
Miu started arriving on set earlier than she needed to. Not because she was particularly diligent, but because Lena was always already there. Sitting somewhere near the monitors, coffee in hand, looking mildly amused by the chaos unfolding around her.
It became unspoken.
If Miu arrived and did not see Lena right away, she would scan the room until she did. Only then would she relax.
"Why are you smiling like that," Lena asked one morning, glancing up as Miu dropped into the chair beside her. Miu blinked. "Am I." "Yes," Lena said. "You look like you just found something you lost."
Miu laughed. "Maybe I did."
Lena raised an eyebrow. "Dramatic."
But she smiled too.
They started every day like this. Small talk. Teasing. Commentary on the set. Complaints about early call times that neither of them actually hated anymore.
Filming was still demanding, but something about working alongside Lena made it feel lighter. Less like pressure. More like play.
They rehearsed lines together without being asked. Sometimes they got distracted halfway through, laughing over an inside joke only the two of them understood.
The director never stopped them. In fact, he encouraged it. "Stay together," he said casually one afternoon. "You two are better when you are just being yourselves."
Miu did not think much of it at the time.
She should have.
Their closeness grew in ways that did not announce themselves. Lena started handing Miu water before she realized she was thirsty. Miu started fixing Lena's collar before takes without thinking.
It was practical. Helpful. Familiar.
When Miu forgot her jacket one evening, Lena draped hers over Miu's shoulders without comment.
"You will catch a cold," Lena said. Miu pulled it tighter around herself. "You sound like my mother."
Lena snorted. "I refuse that responsibility."
Yet she did not take the jacket back.
They sat together during breaks, sometimes talking, sometimes just existing in shared silence. Miu would lean back against Lena's shoulder while scrolling through her phone. Lena would rest her chin lightly on Miu's head without noticing she was doing it.
The crew noticed. They exchanged glances. Smiled knowingly. Let them be. "Those two," someone whispered once. "They are attached."
Miu did not hear it.
Lena did. She did not say anything.
Fans were noticing too. Clips surfaced daily. Moments that did not look staged. Laughter that lingered. Hands that found each other naturally.
They do not even realize what they are doing.
This is not fan service. This is comfort. They look like they have known each other forever.
Miu scrolled through edits late at night, amused more than anything. She sent a few to Lena, mostly the funny ones.
Lena replied with exaggerated reactions. "You are ruining my serious image." "Too late," Miu replied.
It felt harmless.
One afternoon, filming wrapped later than expected.
The set slowly emptied. Crew members said their goodbyes. Lights dimmed.
Miu stayed behind, sitting cross legged on the floor, flipping through the script lazily.
"You are going to cramp if you sit like that," Lena said. "I am fine," Miu replied without looking up.
Lena sighed and sat down beside her anyway.
Miu leaned sideways immediately, shoulder pressing into Lena's arm.
It was instinctive.
Lena glanced down at her, then back at the script.
They stayed like that.
"I like days like this," Miu said quietly.
"Which ones."
"The boring ones," she replied. "The ones where nothing goes wrong."
Lena smiled. "You like boring."
"I like easy," Miu corrected. Lena did not respond right away. "Me too," she said finally.

Something shifted that week. Not in a dramatic way.
Just small changes.
Miu started saving a seat for Lena automatically. Lena started waiting for Miu before leaving the set, even when she had no reason to.
They ate together most days, sometimes with others, sometimes just the two of them sharing food from the same container.
Lena always gave Miu the last bite.
Miu always protested and then took it anyway.
One evening, they walked to the parking lot together, talking about a scene they had struggled with.
"Do you think we should play it softer," Miu asked.
Lena nodded. "Yeah. Like we are not trying so hard."
Miu smiled. "That seems to be our theme."
Lena laughed. "Apparently."
They stopped near Lena's car. Neither moved to leave right away. "Well," Miu said. "See you tomorrow."
"Tomorrow," Lena echoed.
They stood there for a moment longer than necessary.
Then Miu waved and walked away.
Lena watched her go. She did not understand why she stayed in the parking lot for a full minute after.
The habit formed quietly.
It started with mornings.
Lena always bought coffee on her way in. One for herself. One for Miu. At first, she told herself it was convenience. She already knew Miu's order. Miu accepted it without comment.
Then Miu started bringing snacks. Leaving them on Lena's chair. Sometimes with a note. Sometimes without. It became expected. Unspoken.
If Lena forgot the coffee one morning, Miu noticed.
"Did something happen," Miu asked lightly.
"No," Lena said quickly. "Why."
"You forgot," Miu said, pointing at the empty space on the table.
Lena stared at it, then laughed. "I guess I did."
She brought two coffees the next day.
They did not talk about it. They did not need to.
One late afternoon, filming paused due to technical issues. The crew scattered. Some sat on the floor. Some checked their phones.
Miu and Lena found a quiet corner near the back of the studio. Miu leaned against the wall. Lena stood in front of her. They talked about nothing important.
At some point, Miu reached out and tugged lightly at Lena's sleeve.
"You do that," Lena said.
"Do what."
"That," Lena said, glancing down. "When you are thinking." Miu released the fabric, surprised. "I did not realize." Lena smiled. "I noticed."
Miu felt something warm spread through her chest.
She did not question it. They stayed there until filming resumed.
The moment that sealed it happened without fanfare. It was late. The studio was quiet. Miu had changed out of her costume and was waiting near the exit, scrolling through her phone. Lena approached, jacket in hand.
"Ready," she asked. Miu nodded and followed her outside. The night air was cool. Without thinking, Lena draped her jacket over Miu's shoulders again.
Miu did not comment. She simply adjusted it, fitting it comfortably around herself.
They walked side by side toward the parking lot.
At some point, Miu reached for Lena's wrist, fingers curling lightly around it.
"Wait," she said. "I forgot something." Lena stopped instantly.
Did not pull away.
Did not comment.
Just waited.
When Miu returned, she did not let go right away.
They walked the rest of the way like that.
Hand to wrist.
Casual. Unremarkable.
When they reached their cars, Miu finally released her grip.
"Drive safe," she said. "You too," Lena replied.
They smiled.
Drove off.
Neither of them mentioned it the next day.
But when Miu reached for Lena's wrist again, Lena did not hesitate. And that was how it became theirs.
