Chapter 2(b)
"Does heaven looks like this?" She asked again eyeing things around her. Shapeless utensils and stove was all she could see while looking in front, on the left it was shady and dirty wall, on the right an old almirah with broken glass fixed on it.
"My heaven looks like this." She was given a glass of water. She took hold on the glass and drunk it at once.
"Thank you. What's the time?" She looked up at the person. She felt herself being in worst nightmare.
"It's eleven." He took the glass from her and kept it on the table beside her. That was the moment when she realized she wasn't in her own clothes. It was a baggy manly t-shirt and track pants.
She pulled the bed-sheet covering her shoulder. She looked at him with tears brimming in her eyes.
"What?" He felt her gaze. Noticing her position he smirked. "Your jeans were tight and kurti was all messy. It needed to be changed to ease your muscles you know?" He sat on the bed near her.
"My heaven atleast have clean clothes..... " He moved closer to her. She scooted back. "...... And the most important I still remember that push." He moved his hand toward her face. Her back was now touching the wall, eyes shut too tightly that wrinkles form on the eyelids.
"Shaad." A loud voice and sound of thud. She opened her eyes. "Stay away." Shaad was on the floor and Angela was in between them.
"Why are you scaring her?"
"Nothing." He smirked at Ajiya and left rubbing his hand and cleaning his shirt.
"Are you alright?"
Ajiya hugged her as soon as Shaad left. She was crying like a kid asking for her favorite candy.
"I was scared."
"I know. Shaad is just a troublemaker, don't think about him."
"My clothes...." Ajiya felt words missing from her dictionary to fit in here.
"Ah! That." Angela freed herself and pulled a shopping bag from the side of the bed. "Here it is. Actually those jeans and all were too tight so I helped you in changing. I hope you don't mind." She winked at her.
She nodded.
"Are you hungry? It's just 11 and I forgot my breakfast."
Ajiya again just nodded.
"Ok then change your cloth we are going to nearby cafe."
************
The four were in cafe, Ajiya pulled Angela to sit with her.
"Ajiya call your mom she was calling you continuously." Vasam gave her phone after the food were served.
"Assalamalaikum." As soon as she took her phone, her mother called again.
"No. It's nothing like that."
"Ammi please.....You can't judge on the basis of there judgement." She was apologizing for something unaware of the fact that her tone was much stressed to catch trio's attention.
"Ok just stop it." She murmured. After being quiet for some moment she stood up and left from there without saying anything.
"Ammi. I'm leaving. Khudahafiz" This was the last thing they heard from her before she left.
*********
From the threshold, views weren't to clear but it can be said that atmosphere wasn't good. Yazan's knitted eyebrows and Khala's brimming eyes gave her hint of her Ammi's call.
"Assalamalaikum." Ajiya walked in, closing the door behind. She removed her sandal and wore sleepers.
"Walaikumassalam." Yazan was the only one to answer her.
She took big strides to reach her room and most importantly to avoid the scenario as she knew it was created because of her.
"From now onward everyone should inform me about there outings." Khala yelled before she could enter her room.
She knew it was for her.
"I will." She shut the door. Soon after changing into her normal wear she came out of bathroom to call Angela.
Clicking on her number she thought, "I'm not at all in mood of giving any explanation."
She texted her that she can't go to Dj's houseparty. Throwing mobile on the bed she took the packet which had jeans and top. She gently started touching the cloth, feeling it's fabric, She was looking at the vibrant yellow fabric as if it's color was hypnotizing her.
'Tch!'
Her mind felt a shock by the thought that came on her mind. Realizing every happenings, she remembered that she haven't paid for the dress to the person who would've paid and most importantly how she ended up at Shaad's place but ignoring all these her mind blasted a bomb and now the only thing that bothers her was who changed her clothes.
Maybe Angela helped.
She tried guessing as she was trying to deny that fact.
"Yeah, she would have helped."
"But what if....... it's him?" She slapped her cheek, "Don't think about him it was surely Angela."
*************
At the time like this I really want to shout all my frustration, but reality check is always there for me. There is no one for me, to hear me, to listen my worries, my frustrations, cry...... I'm just a loner.
I took my mobile and call the number that I never want to. And to my surprise the call was picked up within a second.
"How are you Jiya?" The cold voice is still same.
"I'm fine."
After a minute of silence the other person again says, "You wouldn't have called if you were fine."
I felt loss of word, isn't this how childhood best friends meant to act?
"Jiya, is this only the reason why we can contact each other, being sad?" She was the one to say again.
"Maybe....." I said whatever was the first word came in my mind. "..... just this is what's left between us."
"We miss us."
"Me too, but then realization of being betrayed strikes hard." I made my words and tone seriously harsh.
The person from other side was quite. Maybe the harshness of this side's person made her silent.
The silence continued for some time and then line went off like always.
Today was the worst day I can ever have, why do every other person wants to tame me? Why can't they live and let me live?
Leaving all the worries.
