CASSIDY
The following six days are finally peaceful, and I start writing non stop on my iPad again. I'm so thankful that I hand't burned it; it's the times like this that I need it the most.
I went to the mall yesterday and texted Logan about the model of Alyssa's iPhone. I bought the unicorn case just like mine and I'm going to their house tomorrow just to drop it off.
The doorbell rings while I watch Thirteen Reasons Why, and I don't bother looking. I hear the familiar screeching creak of the gates as one of the workers have already opened it. I upper the volume and scowl at the noise and mild commotion.
It's not long before someone spreads open my arms and a pink tiara is in front of me.
"I missed you, Cassy!" the tiny voice of Alyssa squeaks as I hug her in return.
"Woah, what are you two doing here?" I ask. "I'm the one that's supposed to go to your place, not you," I say.
Logan grins and steals my phone from the table.
"Check your phone, princess," he says. I look at the recent messages and laugh at my dumbness.
"Did you get the unicorn?" asks Alyssa as she hops down from my lap.
"No Alyssa, she killed the unicorn beast and all that's left is the blood," Logan teases, which makes Alyssa stomp her feet.
"It's inside that box in the kitchen, check it out," I say, petting her head while she swiftly runs to the dining table.
"So. . .you okay, princess?" Logan asks, sitting awfully too close for my liking.
It's not like the typical dining room chair; it's a bit wide because it's in the living room, but hey, I need my space. Not even my crush is going to stop me from that; and besides I shall only be a friend. Another girl likes him, do not forget that. I can learn to control not to fall for him.
"Yes, and get your own seat, I'm trying to watch here," I say, moving away from him and sliding my laptop.
"Watcha' watching?" he says, taking off my earphones and listening to the audio. Seriously, does he not know what I'm trying to watch here means?
"Get off the chair," I demand, nudging his shoulder with mine.
"Why? I like Thirteen Reasons Why," he says, now sliding the laptop for his own viewing.
"Logan, seriously get off, I'm slipping!" I tell him.
"What? Sorry, I can't hear you, the volume's too loud," he says, smiling.
"Get off, Lo --" I'm cut by a tiny squeak I make just as soon as I almost topple down, but Logan's hand is around mine and he's caught me from an accident again. I feel my cheeks go hot and my arms feel electrocuted.
I slap him hardly on the shoulder and grab the laptop and my earphones as I transfer to the couch, but he's followed me still and wants to watch with me.
"CASSIDY, CASSIDY, OH MY GOLLY, THANK YOU SO MUCH!" Alyssa shows off her iPhone 7 as she sits on my left side, now making me squeezed between the Chase siblings.
"Ooh, what are you watching?" Alyssa wonders, removing the earphone plug for all of us to hear the audio.
"No, wait Alyssa this isn't very nice for your --"
"Thirteen Reasons Why?" she asks as I look at Logan who isn't minding a thing.
"Logan! Do you let her watch this?" I say.
"No, he always watches it and he doesn't allow me, but you will, right Cassidy?" she asks.
"Er, sorry Alyssa, this isn't allowed for you," I say, as her eyes become shiny and I know what's going to happen next.
"But we could watch anything else if you'd like," I shut the laptop as Logan growls and Alyssa's face instantly lights up.
"Or if you'd like we could make a fort," I say as her grin becomes wider.
"Oh, yes, yes, yes!!! Let's make a fort and watch movies and eat candy!" she says.
"Aw, but I don't have candy here," I check out the refrigerator and the cabinets before shaking my head in finality.
"It's only one o' clock. . . wanna go to the mall?" she says, smirking in joy.
"Well, I don't know --"
"Cassy, I am so freaking out and I cannot believe that we're actually --" I stare at the teenage girl barging in before she notices a boy on the couch and a little girl begging me to buy candies.
"AHHHHHHH!!! Oh my god, I did not know I was interrupting a moment! Should I go in or should I -- I dunno, I'll just leave. Goodbye, Cassidy French!" Alaine says, before laying a step on our floor. Geez, that girl is mad.
"Who was that?" Logan asks, bewildered at the weirdness.
"Alaine," I say.
"Oh. That explains the screams you have whenever you're on the phone," he says.
"Hey, she's my best friend! Her bizarreness is leveled at mine, and besides, Dylan and Gavin are weird too; who stares at someone while using their phone and then leaves their friend when he meets a girl," I laugh as Alyssa opens the door, making Knoxx and Toothless run out.
"Logan, get in the car and drive! We're going wether you like it or not!" she yells, making Logan stare at her in annoyance.
"Little monster, ask nicely! You don't have to do that!" he says.
"Really? So you'd do it if I said, 'Logan, could you pretty please drive me and Cassy to get candy?'"
"Maybe, if you'd add 'Logan is the best brother in the whole wide world and is the coolest and most attractive person in the universe," he says, waiting for Alyssa to speak. She doesn't of course, but Logan ends up driving anyway. She is tough and witty for a five year old that wears tiaras and likes unicorns, to be honest.

Once we reach the entrance, I put Alyssa inside the push cart after her begging of riding inside. Logan's walking right beside me, obviously annoyed at Alyssa.
"Hey, you're looking down," I say as he rolls his eyes and nears his head to my ear.
"Alyssa's so annoying," he whispers.
"Aw, it's sibling love! And don't act like you don't love Alyssa, she's nothing but a bundle of sunshine," I say, grinning at him.
"It's not that fun when she's your sister!" he says as I roll my eyes.
"You're lucky you have Alyssa. You know, I always wanted a brother, but I'll an only child forever," I tell him truthfully, while Alyssa instructs the directions to the candies and chocolates.
I pick up loads of Reese's first, because they're my absolute fave! But my hand touches Logan's at the candy bar and I'm once again rooted to the spot.
"Reese's is your favorite too, princess?" he says sleekly, getting loads of the chocolate. I pinch my fingers to make sure that I'm not dreaming again. Logan being near me still bothers me up till now sometimes, and the fact that it's so normal to him is infuriating.
I turn around to put the orange wrappers in the cart, but as soon as I turn, I bump into something soft and everything's dark. I take a step back and look up to see Logan's friend, Gavin.
I should be annoyed, because that's how I'd usually act, but I become nice.
Maybe because of the good mood Logan's giving me?
"Hey. Cassidy, right?" he says while I stare into his brown eyes and his perfect smile. When he isn't staring at your phone at Starbucks, he's really so cute.
"Yeah, I'm with Logan and Alyssa," I say, beaming at him.
"Oh. I'm Gavin Blaine. Logan was totally crazy chasing you off. Me and Dylan didn't know he got your iPad, but you've bewitched him now," he says.
"He's okay, just really annoying for the past few days," I reply, taking a glance of Logan talking to Dylan behind me.
"Did you know we were actually classmates back then? Logan told me all about it and I couldn't believe it,"
"I know right! Seems so unreal if you come to think of it," I giggle.
"Yeah. Wanna hang out sometime?" he asks casually. I feel a bit uncomfortable, but I grin anyway. He isn't annoying; looks so nice anyway.
"Sure! Are you free on Fri --"
"GAV! Gavin, Gavin, Gavin! Hey bro, you've finally met Cassidy," Logan suddenly says, cutting me off and putting his arm around my shoulders. Instead of my cheeks going hot at Logan's action, I can only laugh.
"Yeah, I did. Cassidy's pretty, and do you know about this other girl, Fall Hilton? We all have a theory that she likes you, and look, your phone is ringing, it's her!" he says as I chuckle.
This Gavin isn't that bad or weird as I thought. I expect myself to be jealous that everyone's shipping Logan and Fall, but I kind of blush at Gavin's words.
Logan notices though, and I catch his eyes with a dark glint before he suddenly laces his fingers around mine. Gavin only laughs. Seeing that my eyes are still on his friend's, Logan pokes my waist and I end up laughing badly, which makes me fall into his arms that once again catch me. Well, this instant wasn't my fault anymore.
"Friday, Cass. I'll be at the Baskin-Robbins shop near the mall," Gavin waves as Dylan pulls him away after having a quiet conversation with Alyssa. They disappear beneath the grocery stalls, and I wave my hand back as I lean into Logan's warm chest, his arms around me, lost in a daydream.
Wait, what?! I'm leaning into Logan's arms! I straighten up immediately and get some distance.
"Gavin's the typical bad boy, Cass!" Logan says, as I then become aware he's still holding my hand as I finally melt inside now that everything's calm.
"Doesn't seem that bad, he was sweet. Kind of like the total opposite, to be honest," I say, looking into Logan's eyes and internally being murdered.
I like Logan so much more, but I don't get why my reactions toward Gavin are making him act strange. I just want to be close with Gavin, and besides, he's his friend so what's the deal?
"I thought you had a crush," he says.
"Oh please, it's a childish little thing! He doesn't know, and I'm transferring schools. It's not like I'm answering Gavin to be his girlfriend! Why are you acting all weird?" I ask as he looks at me straight with his clear blue eyes and I feel myself nearly die.
It's him; Logan Chase that I'm talking about, and I didn't mean what I said. I don't fall for anyone that easily. Gavin's almost as handsome as his friend, but if you'd ask me, no one can beat Logan. The more time I spend with him the more I get these inexplainable feelings. Now that I actually get to know him little by little, I can't believe I could like him even more.
He searches for an answer, but I don't get the problem, and he can only frown in frustration.
"CASSIDY!" Alyssa shouts from the push cart as I run over to her. She's far off near the next stall and we haven't been noticing her.
"Yes Alyssa, sorry, Logan's friends came," I tell her, as I notice tears sprouting in her eyes. Logan notices and carries his sister.
"Alyssa, why are you crying?" he asks, carrying her in his arms as she starts a tantrum.
"Dylan told me that Gavin wants to hang out with Cassidy! I. . . I don't want Fall to become my sister in law. . . and, and --"
"Woah, Alyssa, it's okay. We aren't talking about marriage here, kiddo," I say, stroking her hair in which my fingers lightly brush Logan's soft, perfect cheeks in accident.
"You don't have to be sad, little monster, it's fine," he says, patting her back. "What in the world did Dylan say to you this time. . . " he mutters under his breath.
It's so cute that Logan's being sweet to his sister; it's these types of things that make me wish I had a sibling.
We buy a few more candies till the cart's full, and then get a couple of glow sticks and fairy lights.
By the time we're back home, I am exhausted from walking and hug the throw pillows on the couch as Alyssa searches for blankets upstairs.
At five pm -- after a long, nasty fight between the Chase siblings, Alyssa finally convinces his brother to help out and do her requests.
I, Alyssa, and Logan get numerous pillows and stack them up to form a castle, and use a few more blankets to top the fort. Logan fixes up the fairy lights, and I put the glow sticks at random parts of the living room.
Once we're done, the pizza delivery Logan ordered has arrived, and we bring the two boxes to the coffee table in front of the TV.
"So, what do you want to watch, Alyssa?" I ask.
"Hmm. I don't know, what movies do you have?"
"Anything! Everything's available online, and I can connect it to the TV,"
"Do you have --"
"Not anything princessy, little monster!" Logan warns.
"MOANA!" she squeals as I search for the movie and the full copy instantly shows up.
"Alyssa! You've watched that a billion times!" he whines as I start the movie.
"Is this one of your favorites?" I ask, getting a pepperoni pizza and turn off the lights as the dark illuminates the bright fairly lights and glow sticks.
"Yes! Moana is the best!" she says.
"Ooh, we're the same, girl! I love Moana so much!"
Logan quietly scowls, and I softly slap him on the shoulder. This day was so fun, I don't think I'll be able to get over it once it finally ends.
Alyssa is still awake by nine, and I brush my teeth and change into more comfortable clothes.
"Guys, you should get home already, it's nighttime," I say as I get down the stairs, putting the pizza into the fridge as they selfishly devour the tasty candies and chocolates.
"No, just one more movie, Cassy, please," Alyssa pleads sleepily. It's so hard to resist her cute puppy eyes and innocent voice.
"Oh, fine. But after that both of you need to go home," I say, flopping on the couch next to Logan. I'm kind of getting used to him now, but I won't deny that small moments of him make me die.
"Why aren't your parents home yet, princess?" he asks quietly, eating a Hershey's milk chocolate bar.
"They're on a buisness trip together. They won't be back till Saturday." I tell him.
"So you're alone here?" he asks.
"Yeah, except for the maids and the workers, and dad and mom's driver in their rooms at the other side of the house," I say.
"Oh. Then no one will get mad if we stay longer!" he says, poking my waist to tickle again, but I grip both of his hands in my arms to stop him from moving and from me laughing.
"Seriously, you've got to get home! Isn't your mom going to get mad or something?"
"Nah, she wouldn't mind if I told her we were at your place," I shriek as his hands get away and he tickles me again.
"Logan, Logan, stop it!" I laugh as I stand up but his fingers are still around me, and I grin and shut my eyes, slapping away his hands but it's no use. Annoying.
Eventually, I fall down to his chest and I'm seated on his lap and I can literally feel the beat of his heart from my back. I beam at his eyes and pretty smile while looking up. It not long before I realize that I'm lost once again in a separate world, except Logan is now in it. Damn, he's so cute and he's smiling at me. I feel so comfortable and warm so close to him, it's nice. Awhile ago was different when we were buying chocolates; there aren't any other things distracting me and all I can do now is stare.
But then I remember that this could all just be a dream. Us is not a word that will ever exist between us. And there's the perfect Fall Hilton.
I scramble away quickly when I wake from the mini day dream and punch him on the chest as he chuckles at me.
Obviously, he saw that I was totally distracted by his good looks.
But he shoots a killer smile at me and I can't believe that's enough for the irritation to evaporate.
WHAT?! Did I just say that?
Did someone just so amazingly remove my annoyance after my 'i am getting angry' breakdown? If you haven't figured it out yet, I am an irascible girl. I get mad or pettish at the slightest actions and Logan just so happened to erase that so simply.
Snap out of it, Cass.
Alyssa plays the next movie that she's chosen, and it's Beauty and The Beast, with Emma Watson as Belle.
"Ooh, I love this movie!" I exclaim as Alyssa flops down next to me.
When the part where Belle reaches the beast's castle has appeared, Alyssa is frozen on my lap comfortably and has drifted off asleep. It doesn't take me long to doze off because I'm exhausted, and when Gaston and the villagers raid the palace, I take a glance at a very awake Logan before my eyes drop and stay shut permanently.
