Chapter 2
Phil pov
I awoke with a jolt, my nightmare seeming to end in a split second and I opened my eyes into a dark room. Figuring it was my bedroom I attempted to rise off of the surface I was laying upon but could not move. Chains jingled with each movement, increasing my anxiety.
This is not my home. It wasn't a dream I had. Reality struck me like lighting. That boy was real, and he attacked me. I felt a throbbing pain on my collarbone and looked down to see two puncture wounds with dry blood scattered on the openings.
The light was very minimal, probably not even dawn. Only the light of the moon from a barbed window in the corner illuminated what was of the room.
It was a decent size, with different shades of black and grey all over the place. There was only the bed I was laying on and a doorway with a small section open. Not enough to fit through.
Rattling my chains some more, they began to come loose and I sat up and put my head in my hands. Did that really happen? Did that man.. that thing.. bite me?
I've never been one to believe in anything, I'm not religious. I know there's good and bad in the world but not dark creatures like that. I pinch myself to make sure it's not a nightmare again. News flash, it's not.
My thoughts continue to race as I run my hand through my hair. A sudden ring of footsteps down the hall grab my attention and peak my fear. Is he coming to kill me?
He appears in the doorframe, spots me, and grins wide. It would almost be cute if I wasn't terrified right now.
Slowly putting a key in its socket and turning the knob, he entreats the room. I suck in my breathe and await patiently, hoping he decided to release me. Although, he is pretty hot. I might be into this.
"So, I see you're awake." The man said with an almost maniacal chuckle. The way he said it makes me think this is peaceful, for now. I almost feel safe with him.
"Y-yes" I manage to stutter. He looks at me and appears to realize the situation I am in.
"Oh sorry about that. It's just that last night, I didn't want to lose you. So I tended to you. No virus, you're still human." He said as if this was a casual topic. What virus was he speaking of?
"Riiiight. I'm a bloody idiot. Let me start from the beginning. My name is Dan. What's yours?" He smiled between words, like we were friends catching up in a coffee shop.
"Phil." I stated, more confidently now as it would not be wise to show fear. I don't know what he's capable of or what he plans to do with me.
"Well Phil, we seem to be in a tricky situation. I'm what you might call a vampire. " Dan implored making a face showing that he knows I won't believe.
For some reason, I felt like I could trust this guy. Maybe it was his warm, welcoming face, although it was stone white cold. " I-I believe you" I stammered, unsure if I really did.
