We All Fall Down
Sans tied his bandana around his neck as he walked down the stairs. Papyrus was asleep on the sofa, a bottle of honey in his hand. Sans sighed as he walked up to him. 'Papyrus!' he said. 'You have to get up for our patrol!'
'What?' Papyrus said, his eyes opening.
'Our patrol for humans! We have to go!'
'Okay, just give me five more...hours...'
'Papyrus, we can't...' Sans stopped. He was no longer looking at Papyrus. Instead he could see himself lying on the sofa only...he was different. He was wearing a blue hoodie, white shirt, black shorts and pink slippers and was holding a bottle of ketchup. Also, there was a weird Papyrus. He was wearing a cool costume, like Sans's own battle body, and red scarf.
'Lazybones! We cannot be late! What if a human is walking through Snowdin right now and I miss it!' the weird Papyrus yelled.
'Sorry, bro. I'm just bone tired,' the weird Sans replied.
Papyrus was confused. Sans had randomly stopped talking, his pupils had disappeared and his smile had faded. This had never happened before.
'Bro? You okay?' Papyrus asked.
Sans blinked a few times and his pupils returned to his eye sockets. He rubbed his eye sockets and looked around. The weird Sans and Papyrus had disappeared.
'Bro?' Papyrus asked again.
'Y-yeah?' Sans said.
'You okay? You sort of spaced out for a bit then.'
'I-I'm fine. We'd better get going,' Sans replied, pushing the vision out of his mind.
They left the house and walked through Snowdin.
'Today's the day, brother. I can feel it! I, the Magnificent Sans, will capture a human!' Sans said.
'You say that every day but...who knows? Today could be your lucky day,' Papyrus said.
'I'm sure it will be! All my puzzles are prepared and I will use them to finally fulfil my dreams!' Sans said as they passed the 'well-crafted' sentry station.
They reached Papyrus's sentry station.
'No slacking off, okay? And no going to Muffet's!' Sans lectured Papyrus.
'I know.'
'Call me if you see any humans...'
Papyrus was gone. Another weird Sans had appeared at the sentry station. This one was dressed the same as the previous one he'd seen, only his clothes were torn and bloody. One eye was glowing red and there was a chunk missing from his skull. He had a mad smile on his face and was holding a human girl in a purple dress down on the station's counter. He held a bloody axe above his head.
'One head dog, coming up!' the weird Sans yelled as he brought the axe down onto the screaming girl's neck.
My god, there was blood everywhere.
Sans couldn't take it. The horror of the scene before him made him pass out. However, as he fell, he felt a sharp pain in his soul.
Papyrus noticed that Sans had spaced out again. He didn't have time to say anything before Sans passed out.
'Sans!' Papyrus yelled, running to his brother's side. He made Sans's soul appear to examine it. Its natural glow had faded and there were a few cracks in it.
'He's fallen down...n-no... I can't lose him again...Undyne. I need Undyne. She helps people who've fallen down.'
Papyrus scooped up Sans in his arms and teleported to Undyne's lab in Hotland.
