Chapter VI
"Where the hell did that bastard go?! It's fucking freezing out here and I'm getting wetter by the minute! I'M GOING TO FUCKING KILL DEL WHEN WE FUCKING FIND HIM!" I ranted, angrily, looking about the quiet streets, South waking beside him holding an umbrella above their heads.
"We'll find him eventually, North, have some patience. I hope he's ok, London's a big city, he could be lost," South replied, glancing around looking for the missing state.
"Well, if he could show up any faster, that would be fucking nice!" I snapped back.
My twin sighed, shaking his head, "Let's just find him, Alfred will kill us if we don't."
I frowned, squinting slightly, trying to see if I could spot Delaware, "He should be fine, the guy's not a complete idiot, but storming out of Arthur's house like that was incredibly dumb. And now that I think about it, we could get lost ourselves."
"We can call Arthur if that happens," South tried to ease my worries.
"THEN WHY HASN'T DEL DONE THAT?!" I shouted, " THEN WE WOULDN'T HAVE TO BE OUT IN THE FUCKING RAIN!"
"He forgot to grab his phone in his anger when he left Arthur's house," South told me, continuing to walk down the street, his blue eyes scanning for any sign of Delaware.
"You've got to be kidding! That bastard should just have his phone on him at all times! THEN WE WOULDN'T BE IN THIS MESS!" I yelled, then settled for glaring at the sky, silently wishing it would stop raining.
"I bet Del's trying to find his way back to Arthur's house as we speak," South suggested, gently nudging me. In response I rolled my green eyes.
"Whatever you say..."
We continued to walk down streets, looking for the missing state. As we walked the rain became heavier, and at this point, I had stopped looking for Delaware, and was just trying to mentally make the rain stop. Sadly, I can't make rain stop, much to my displeasure.
Suddenly, I shot my hand out in front of South, stopping him. "Shh... Do you hear that?"
"Hear what?" he asked, eyes scanning the buildings.
"Someone's shouting something," I stated, and started to turn in circles trying to pinpoint where the noise was coming from.
Then I took off, leaving South behind, in the direction of the voice. I turned a corner and collided with someone. "OW, fuck, that hurt!" I almost yelled, rubbing my head where it hit the other person.
"North?"
At the question I finally looked at the person that got in my way. "Del, FUCKING FINALLY, did you think it was smart to run off in a city where you don't know where you're going?! Fucking hell, I thought only idiots did that!" I scolded him. (HA, the tables have turned.)
"Does that mean you don't think I'm an idiot?" Del asked after getting up off the ground.
It that question, my mind blanked. Do I think of Del as an idiot? No... not really, I answered my own question. "Well...," I sighed, "I guess not..."
"Then what do you think of me?" Why do you want to know? I shot back in my head.
"I... see you as a..." the last part I mumbled, not really wanting him to hear.
"As what? I didn't hear you," Del continued to look at me, still sitting on the sidewalk.
"As an older brother..." I said, keeping my gaze on the ground.
Then, a hand appeared in my vision, "Well, if that's how you think of me, then, how would you like it if I acted like one?" He asked me.
For a moment I just stared at his hand, before smiling and accepting it, "I'd like that."
